摘要：A method may be arranged for a Domain Name System server to provide a DNS record to a DNS client. The method may comprise: - receiving a query from the DNS client, the DNS client having an IP address, - processing the IP address, by using a mapping function (20), to produce a selection number (SN), - selecting, by using the
selection number (SN), at least one DNS record from a table (23) of DNS records, and -transmitting the at least one selected DNS record to the DNS client. The mapping function (20) may comprise a conversion function (21) and/or a reduction function (22), and may be arranged for the selection number (SN) to have a substantially smaller range than the IP address. The conversion function (21) may be arranged such that its output values are more evenly spread over their range than its input values.
