Some young adults want independence from their parents as soon as possible. Other young adults prefer to live with their families for a long time. Which of these situations you think is better? Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion. If we want to live well, we have to live alone, because no one can take care of you all the time even though your parents. Being independent is a symbol of growing up. Thus, it is beneficial for young adults to gain independence from their parents.Living with parents for a long time will increase their burden. After taking care of their children for nearly twenty years, parents are supposed to relax. It is young people's duties to give their parents a long vocation and start take care of themselves. Because parents, stepping into their sixties, have less energy than before; meanwhile, they would like to do something they are interested after their retirements in instead of keeping doing housework and serving for their grow-up children. My mother, for example, kept living with my grandparents until two years ago. During the past twenty years, my grandmother had no rest from doing house work. Everyday, she went to the market to buy food, cooked for the whole family and did the cleanings. This was because that my mom was dependent on her parents all the time and could not cook or do the housework herself. My grandmother, however, though loved and understood her daughter very well, sometime complained about the tiredness and having no time for entertainments. Obviously, my mother's dependence on my grandmother had affected my grandmother's later life. Therefore, it is improper for my mom to live dependently with my grandparents for such a longtime. She ought to live independently and allow my grandparents to enjoy their happy later life.Living alone forces young people to learn some skills and do them well. Unlike my mom, my aunt lived alone since she graduated from universities. For instance, my aunt knew nothing about cooking or housework when she was a teenager, but now, she can cook various delicious foods and organized her own house in perfect order. This was because the situation of living alone pushed her to learn. Moreover, without these skills, she cannot live a healthy life. In the contrast, my mom, after my grandmother moved to my aunt's house, with me, lived a irregular and messy life. At the beginning, we ate take-away food everyday and had to hire a cleaner. Considering our health, she had no way but to learn cooking and cleaning. Thus, if young adults do not live alone, they can never cook on their own or even do simple housework because of laziness and independence. All in all, living independently benefits parents as well as young adults themselves. It is one of the required courses during our life. Though at the beginning, young people cannot well handle numerous daily problems, it will be an unforgettable experience and a worthwhile try.。

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? It is better to use printed material, such as books and articles, to do research than to use the internet.【参考内容】There is a debate over whether printed material or the internet is a better source for research. While some argue that printed material is more reliable, others believe that the internet provides more accessible and up-to-date information. In my opinion, using the internet is a better option for research for several reasons. Firstly, the internet provides a vast amount of information that is easily accessible. Unlike printed material that may require a trip to a library or bookstore, the internet allows users to access information from anywhere at any time. This convenience is especially beneficial for students and researchers who may need to quickly find information for an assignment or project. Additionally, the internet provides more up-to-date information compared to printed material. Books and articles may take months or even years to get published, which means the information they contain may become outdated by the time they reach the readers. On the other hand, the internet provides real-time information that is constantly being updated. This is particularly useful for areas such as science and technology, where new discoveries are made regularly.Furthermore, the internet allows for a more interactive and dynamic research experience. Unlike printed material, the internetprovides various multimedia resources such as videos, images, and interactive simulations. These resources can significantly enhance the learning experience and help researchers better understand complex concepts. Moreover, the internet allows users to connect with other researchers, join online forums, and share knowledge and ideas. This collaborative aspect of the internet promotes a broader scope of research and enables researchers to learn from one another. In conclusion, while printed material has its merits, such as reliability and tangibility, the internet offers more convenience, up-to-dateness, and interactivity, making it a better option for research. It is crucial for researchers to adapt to the digital age and take advantage of the vast resources available on the internet.2. Some people believe that it's best to live in a small town. Others think that it's better to live in a big city.【参考内容】The debate between living in a small town and living in a big city has been ongoing for a long time. Each has its advantages and disadvantages, and the choice ultimately depends on anindividual's preferences and priorities.Living in a small town offers a sense of tight-knit community and tranquility that is often absent in big cities. People in small towns tend to know their neighbors and have strong social connections. The pace of life is generally slower, and there is less stress and traffic congestion. Small towns also offer natural beauty and a closer connection to nature, with more open spaces and green areas. On the other hand, big cities offer a multitude of opportunities and amenities that cannot be found in small towns. Cities are oftencultural and economic hubs, providing diverse employment opportunities and a vibrant social scene. They offer a wide range of entertainment options, such as theaters, museums, restaurants, and shopping centers. Additionally, big cities tend to have better healthcare and educational facilities, as well as better public transportation systems. Moreover, big cities offer a greater sense of anonymity and freedom. In a small town, everyone knows everyone else's business, which can lead to a lack of privacy. In a big city, individuals have more opportunities to reinvent themselves and pursue their interests without fear of judgment or scrutiny from others. In conclusion, the decision to live in a small town or a big city depends on an individual's personality, preferences, and goals. Some may prefer the warmth and closeness of a small community, while others may thrive in the diversity and excitement of a big city. Ultimately, it is important to choose a living environment that aligns with one's personal values and aspirations.

Wb.ile scientists have been seriously observing animal behavior for well over a hundred years. the study of why animals play has only recently become a serious research topic. At least three di知rent theories have been advanced to explain the phenomenonThe first theory is called the surplus energy theory. This theory maintains that some animals, mammals for example, are so efficient at using energy that they often do not manage to spend all the ene屯y they receive through food. They end up with unused, surplus ene屯y that they cannot store. According to this theory, animals have to play to get rid of t he surplus energy that t hey have not used.A second theory is called the instinct-practice theory. It states that young animals play as part of their physical education. The physical actions that animals will need to use for survival are instinctual, that is, preprogrammed in their brains. The animals, however, have to train their bodies to be able to perform these actions. So this theory explains why the play of young animals centers on real-life tasks. For example, predatory animals those that hunt, 回I, and consume other animals for food have often been obsen,ed attacki鸣 and bit西during play, which are precisely the skills they will need in order to hunt for foodA third theory, called the social functions theory, is that animals play to establish social relationships within their group. Basically, play gives animals a chance to bond with the other members in their group. For example, in a study of rats, those that played together made high-pitched squeaks that were accompanied by the release of pleasure-causi1屯chemicals in the brain. This association of play with pleasure may motivate the animals to stay together as a hannonious group even while not playing第一套听力文本暂缺范文:The reading passage and lecture hold di订crent opinions r咚arding the reason why animals play.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? It is better to study with a group of students than to study alone. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.2. In my opinion, studying with a group of students is better than studying alone. There are several reasons to support my perspective.Firstly, studying with a group of students allows for better learning opportunities. When studying in a group, students can discuss and share their thoughts and ideas, which can help them gain a deeper understanding of the subject matter. For example, during group discussions, students can ask questions, clarify concepts, and provide different perspectives on a topic. This collaborative learning environment promotes critical thinking and can lead to more comprehensive learning outcomes.Secondly, studying with peers can provide motivation and accountability. When studying alone, it is easy to become distracted or lose focus. However, when studying with a group, there is a sense of responsibility to contribute and participate actively. This can create asupportive and competitive atmosphere, encouraging students to stay on track and make progress together. Additionally, students can also learn from each other's study habits and strategies, which can improve their own study skills.Lastly, studying in a group can enhance interpersonal skills. In today's society, it is essential to be able to work effectively in a team. By studying with a group of students, individuals have the opportunity to develop communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. These skills are not only important for academic success but also for future career prospects. For instance, group projects and presentations in university or the workplace often require individuals to work together towards a common goal, and studying with a group can prepare students for such situations. In conclusion, studying with a group of students offers numerous advantages compared to studying alone, including enhanced learning opportunities, motivation, and the development of essential interpersonal skills. Therefore, I agree with the statement that it is better to study with a group of students than to study alone.

托福intergrated_writing写作

Summarize the points made in the lecture you just heard, explaining how they cast doubt on point made in the reading。

In the listening material , the author pointed out a fact/phenomenon that -------------(指出听力文的重点,)which was opposed to ideas ----------(总结阅读部分的观点)in the reading materials .The reading passage asserts that….. However, the speaker totally refutes the passage by stating that…Disagree, disapprove, argue against, a total rebuttal towardsContradict, contrast with, refute, is the opposite of, be contrary to, ……Effective, cannot be the substitutes for第二段(3 小段):展开论述听力和阅读部分观点的分论点In the first place / firstly / to begin with , speaker believed that ------------(指出听力部分分论点内容) he reasons for his /her views were as follows , first ------------ second -----------(听力分论点细节),while the author in the reading material confirmed that ――――(阅读部分的观点)which was totally different from the viewpoints in the listening parts.1:听力的观点+论证细节----- 阅读的观点 +论证细节(it depends)2: 阅读的观点---- 听力的观点+论证细节Sentence patternsThe speaker points outThe reading material points outIt is pointed out by the speaker / lecturer / professor在ETS公开的综合写作评分标准中,给出了5分(即满分)作文的定义如下:A response at this level successfully selects the important information from thelecture and coherently and accurately presents this information in relation to the relevant information presented in the reading. The response is well organized, and occasional language errors that are present do not result in inaccurate or imprecise presentation of content or connections.

In recent years, many primatologists have begun studying the bonobo in more detail. What these researchers have learned about bonobos is that they are quite meek in temperament. This is a stark contrast to other primates, such as chimpanzees, which can be rather aggressive and violent, in nature. There is plenty of support for bonobos' gentle demeanors. Experts have studied numerous bonobos in captivity and have witnessed little evidence suggesting that they possess violent tendencies. Bonobos in captivity are typically gentle, kind, and sensitive, and zookeepers report that they experience few problems while handling them. In that regard, bonobos are different from other primates, which sometimes attack their handlers or cause other problems.Bonobos also tend to prevent their young from engaging in violent behavior. For instance, the young of many animal species frequently fight one another or engage in excessive roughhousing. This teaches them how to hunt as well as other survival techniques. However, older bonobos actively quell this behavior in younger bonobos by intervening in fights between their young. As a result, young bonobos neither learn how to fight nor develop aggressive tendencies during their formative years.Bonobos are often contrasted with their more violent cousins, the chimpanzees. Chimpanzees have been observed hunting small animals and even use rocks and sticks as weapons to attack other troops of primates. No such behavior has ever been witnessed among bonobos. Some researchers believe that the fact that bonobos are herbivores reduces any violent impulses they may possess. Since bonobos only eat vegetation, they have no need to hunt or kill anything except in self-defense. Thus they have evolved into more peaceful animals, especially when compared with chimpanzees. These researchers have learned about bonobos is that they are quite meek in temperament. This is a stark contrast to other primates, such as chimpanzees, which can be rather aggressive and violent, in nature.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? People should spend more time interacting with nature. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? It is better to have a small number of close friends than a large number of casual acquaintances. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

TEST1Altruism is a type of behavior in which an animal sacrifices its own interest for that of another animal or group of animals. Altruism is the opposite of selfishness; individuals performing altruistic acts gain nothing for themselves.Examples of altruism abound, both among humans and among other mammals. Unselfish acts among humans range from the sharing of food with strangers to the donation of body organs to family members, and even to strangers. Such acts are altruistic in that they benefit another, yet provide little reward to the one performing the act.In fact, many species of animals appear willing to sacrifice food, or even their life, to assist other members of their group. The meerkat, which is a mammal that dwells in burrows in grassland areas of Africa, is often cited as an example. In groups of meerkats, an individual acts as a sentinel, standing guard and looking out for predators while the others hunt for food or eat food they have obtained. If the sentinel meerkat sees a predator such as a hawk approaching the group, it gives an alarm cry alerting the other meerkats to run and seek shelter. By standing guard, the sentinel meerkat gains nothing—it goes without food while the others eat, and it places itself in grave danger. After it issues an alarm, it has to flee alone, which might make it more at risk to a predator, since animals in groups are often able to work together to fend off a predator. So the altruistic sentinel behavior helps ensure the survival of other members of the meerkat’s group.Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they oppose specific points made in the reading passage.TEST2Professors are normally found in university classrooms, offices, and libraries doing research and lecturing to their students. More and more, however, they also appear as guests on television news programs, giving expert commentary on the latest events in the world. These television appearances are of great benefit to the professors themselves as well as to their universities and the general public.Professors benefit from appearing on television because by doing so they acquire reputations as authorities in their academic fields among a much wider audience than they have on campus. If a professor publishes views in an academic journal, only other scholars will learn about and appreciate those views. But when a professor appears on TV, thousands of people outside the narrow academic community become aware of the professor’s ideas. So when profes sors share their ideas with a television audience, the professors’ importance as scholars is enhanced.Universities also benefit from such appearances. The universities receive positive publicitywhen their professors appear on TV. When people see a knowledgeable faculty member of a university on television, they think more highly of that university. That then leads to an improved reputation for the university. And that improved reputation in turn leads to more donations for the university and more applications from potential students. Finally, the public gains from professors’ appearing on television. Most television viewers normally have no contact with university professors. When professors appear on television, viewers have a chance to learn from experts and to be exposed to views they might otherwise never hear about. Television is generally a medium for commentary that tends to be superficial, not deep or thoughtful. From professors on television, by contrast, viewers get a taste of real expertise and insight.Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they oppose specific points made in the reading passage.TEST3Rembrandt is the most famous of the seventeenth-century Cutch painters. However, there are doubts whether some paintings attributed to Rembrandt were actually painted by him. One such painting is known as Portrait of an Elderly Woman in a White Bonnet. The painting was attributed to Rembrandt because of its style, and indeed the representation of the woman’s face is very much like that of portraits known to be by Rembrandt. But there are problems with the painting that suggest it could not be a work by Rembrandt.First, there is something inconsistent about the way the woman in the portrait is dressed. She is wearing a white linen cap of a kind that only servants would wear –yet the coat she is wearing has a luxurious fur collar that no servant could afford. Rembrandt, who was known for his attention to the details of his subjects’ clothing, would not have been guilt y of such an inconsistency.Second, Rembrandt was a master of painting light and shadow, but in this painting there elements do not fit together. The face appears to be illuminated by light reflected onto is from below. But below the face is the dark fur collar, which would absorb light rather than reflect it. So the face should appear partially in shadow -- which is not how it appears. Rembrandt would never have made such an error. Finally, examination of the back of the painting reveals that is was painted on a panel made of several pieces of wood glued together. Although Rembrandt often painted on wood panels, no painting known to be by Rembrandt uses a panel glued together in this way from several pieces of wood. For these reasons the painting was remo ved for the official catalog of Rembrandt’s paintings in the 1930s.Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they answer the specific problems presented in the reading passage.
