吉林省长春市2015高考英语阅读理解自练

吉林省长春市2015高考英语译林阅读理解自练(5)及答案阅读理解Throughout the 1990s and 2000s until today, Domingo continued performing, singing many of the same roles but adding new roles as well, among them the title roles in Wagner‘s Parsifal and Mozart‘s Idomeneo, Rossini‘s Il ba rbiere di Siviglia as Figaro, Wagner’s Die Walküre as Siegmund, Lehár‘s The Merry Widow as Danilo and Alfano‘s Cyrano de Bergerac as Cyrano. From the middle 1990s to early in 2008 alone, he added 38 new roles, covering opera in six different languages (English, Italian, French, German, Russian and Spanish). The latest was the Italian opera by George Frideric Hand el, Tamerlano.Giving him even greater international recognition outside of the world of opera, he participated in The Three Tenors(男高音)concert at the eve of the 1990 FIFA World Cup Final in Rome with José Carreras and Luciano Pavarotti. The event was originally planned to raise money for the José Carreras International Leukemia(白血病)Foundation and was later repeated a number of times, including at the three later World Cup finals (1994 in Los Angeles, 1998 in Paris, and 2002 in Yokohama). Alone, Domingo again made an appearance at the final of the 2006 World Cup in Berlin, along with rising stars Anna Netrebko and Rolando Villazón. On 24 August 2008, Domingo performed a duet with Song Zuying, singing Ài de Huǒyàn (The Flame of Love) at the 2008 Summer Olympics closing ceremony in Beijing. The Beijing Olympics were the second Olympics he performed at; he sang the Olympic Hymn at the closing ceremonies of the Barcelona Olympics. At the Olympic games that followed, he would meet Sissel Kyrkjebø, who performed the Olympic Hymn at both the opening and closing ceremonies at those games. In what has been called his ‘final career move’, Plácido Domingo announ ced on 25 January 2007 that in 2009 he would take on one of Verdi‘s most demanding baritone (男中音)roles, singing the title role in Simon Boccanegra. The first performance was at Berlin State Opera on October 24, followed by 29 other performances during 2009/2010 at major opera houses around the world. He would, however, continue to sing tenor roles beforehand and afterwards. On 16–17 April 2008 he sang during the visit of Pope Benedict XVI at Nationals Park and at the Italian embassy in Washington D.C. Since 1990 Plácido Domingo has received many awards and honors for his achievement in the field of music and in recognition of his many benefit concerts and contributions to various charities. On 15 March 2009, The Metropolitan Opera celebrated Domingo’s 40th a nniversary with the company with an on-stage gala dinner at the Met’s 125th anniversary, in honour of his first performance in Adriana Lecouvreur as Maurizio opposite Renata Tebaldi on 28 September 1968.On 29 August 2009 he sang Panis Angelicus at the funeral mass of Senator Ted Kennedy in the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Boston, Massachusetts./wiki/Pl%C3%A1cido_Domingo - cite_note-14#cite_note-14On September 20, 2010, Domingo announced that he would renew his contract as General Director of the Los Angeles Opera through 2013. On September 27, 2010, Domingoannounced that he will not renew his contract as Genera l Director of the Washington National Opera beyond its June 2011 expiration date.Ever a sympathetic colleague, in March 2011 he refused to sing in Buenos Aires until the city settled a bitter musicians strike at the Teatro Colon.1. What can we conclude from the passage?A. Domingo can only sing in six different languages.B. Domingo won many awards because he sang a lot.C. José Carreras was later diagnosed with Leukemia.D. Domingo enjoyed world-wide popularity as a Tenor.2. Domingo does the following EXCEPT ___________.A. charity workB. promoting world sportsC. organizing anniversary celebrationsD. forming a peaceful society3. Singing at different events of world sports shows that Domingo ___________.A. prefers to try singing in different languages including ChineseB. enjoys watching sports events despite his busy performancesC. would be more than happy to do some benefit work for the worldD. knows clearly that singing for sports events helps him to be famous4. From paragraph 3, we can see that Domingo is a ___________ person.A. challengingB. strictC. responsibleD.hard-working【参考答案】DCCA高考英语冲刺阅读理解专项-----AEverybody is happy as his pay rises. Yet pleasure at your own can disappear if you learn that a fellow worker has been given a bigger one. Indeed, if he is known as being lazy, you might even be qu ite cross. Such behavior is regarded as “all too human”, with the underlying belief that other animals would not be able to have this finely developed sense of sadness. But a study by Sarah Brosnan of Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, which has just been published in Nature, suggests that it is all too monkey, as well. The researchers studied the behaviors of some kind of female brown monkeys. They look smart. They are good-natured, co-operative creatures, and they share their food happily. Above all, like female human beings, they tend to pay much closer attention to the value of “goods and services” than males.Such characteristics make them perfect subjects for Doctor Brosnan’s study. The researchers spent two years teaching their monkeys to exchange tokens (奖券) for food. Normally, the monkeys were happy enough to exchange pieces of rock for pieces of cucumber. However, when two monkeys were placed in separate and connected rooms, so that each other could observe what the other is getting in return for its rock, they became quite different. In the world of monkeys, grapes are excellent goods (and much preferable to cucumbers). So when one monkey was handed a grape in exchange for her token, the secondwas not willing to hand hers over for a mere piece of cucumber. And if one received a grape without having to provide her token in exchange at all, the other either shook her own token at the researcher, or refused to accept the cucumber. Indeed, the mere presence of a grape in the other room (without an actual monkey to eat it) was enough to bring about dissatisfaction in a female monkey. The researches suggest that these monkeys, like humans, are guided by social senses. In the wild, they are co-operative and group-living. Such co-operation is likely to be firm only when each animal feels it is not being cheated. Feelings of anger when unfairly treated, it seems, are not the nature of human beings alone. Refusing a smaller reward completely makes these feelings clear to other animals of the group. However, whether such a sense of fairness developed independently in monkeys and humans, or whether it comes from the common roots that they had 35 million years ago, is, as yet, an unanswered question.1. According to the passage, which of the following statements is true?A. Only monkeys and humans can have the sense of fairness in the world.B. Women will show more dissatisfaction than men when unfairly treated.C. In the wild, monkeys are never unhappy to share their food with each other.D. Monkeys can exchange cucumbers for grapes, for grapes are more attractive. 答案解析:答案为B。

I was able to buy it a little over a y ear ago because I had my relatives give me money for my birthday instead of clothes that wo uldn’t fit. I let a salesclerk fool me into buying a discontinued model. I realized this a day later, wh en I saw newspaper advertisements for the set at seventy-five dollars less than I had paid. Here are some ways to turn your home into part of your diet plan. Open the curtains and turn up the lights. dark environments are more likely to encourage overeating, for people are often less self-conscious(难为情) when they’re in poorly lit places –and so more likely to eat lots of food. Warm colors like yellow make food appear more appetizing, while cold colors make us less hungry. So when it’s time to repaint, go blue. Don’t forget the clock –or the radio. People who eat slowly tend to consume about 70 fewer calories(卡路里) per meal than those who rush through their meals. Begin keeping track of the time, and try to make dinner last at 30minutes. And while you’re at it, actually sit down to eat. If you need some help slowing down, turning on relaxing music. It makes you less likely to rush through a meal. Downsize the dishes. Big serving bowls and plants can easily makes us fat. We eat about 22 percent more when using a 12-inch plate instead of a 10-inch plate. It used to be the “year off” between school and university. The gap-year phenomenon originated(起源) with the months left over to Oxbridge applicants between entrance exams in November and the start of the next academic year. This year, 25,310 students who have accepted places in higher education institutions have pu t off their entry until next year, according to statistics on university entrance provided by the University and College Admissions Service (UCAS). That is a record 14.7% increase in the number of students taking a gap year. Tony Higgins from UCAS said that the statistics are good news for everyone in higher education. “Students who take a well-planned year out are more likely to be satisfied with, and complete, their chosen course. Students who take a gap year are often more mature and responsible,”he said. But not everyone is happy. Owain James, the president of the National Union of Students (NUS), argued that the increase is evidence of student hardship –young people are being forced into earning money before finishing their education. “New students are now aware that they are likely to leave university up to£15,000 in debt. It is not surprising that more and more students are taking a gap year to earn money to support their study for the degree. NUS statistics show that over 40% of students are forced to work during term time and the figure increases to 90% during vacating periods,”he said.29.What do we learn about the gap year from the text?A.It is flexible in length.B. 阅读理解Video conferencing has been around for more than 20 years. Until the Covid-19 pandemic, though, you would find that many people needing to attend a meeting remotely would be calling from a real conference room full of their teammates. Today, we’re routinely holding video conferences that are 100% virtual (虚拟). And this is creating a problem that technology can’t fix.The problem is us, specifically the fact that we haven’t evolved (进化) socially to the point where we can bear much separation. So much of our well-being and work productivity is decided on how close we are physically. The removal of that for any period of time can be severely damaging. One aspect surprisingly affected by social distancing is laughter.Normally people laugh about 18 times per day. And 97% of that time we’re laughing with others—we are 30 times more likely to laugh with others than to laugh alone. Think about it; how often does it happen—when you and your friends laugh at something, is that something actually funny? Research shows that 80% of what people laugh at is really not that funny. So why do people laugh? They laugh in order to laugh with others. Just as everyone starts yawning (打哈欠) when just one person yawns, most people can’t help but laugh when those around them do. This is why TV comedy shows often use prerecorded laugh tracks (音轨).Laughing in response to other people’s laughing is not just a behavioral phenomenon. When we laugh, our body produces two key chemicals: endorphin which helps relieve pain and sets off feelings of pleasure, and dopamine which can improve learning, motivation and attention. In fact, studies show that people can stand 15% more pain simply by laughing for a few minutes beforehand. Laughter is also associated with higher motivation and productivity at work.In today’s home-alone, virtual-team world, this is exactly what you as a team leader should be doing: for your team members to stay healthy and productive, you need to get them to laugh more and stress less.1.Why is video conferencing mentioned at the beginning?A.To show a fact.B.To entertain readers.C.To introduce the topic.D.To summarize the passage.2.What does the underlined word “This” in Paragraph 4 refer to?A.Laughing starts with yawning in groups.B.Laughing comes more easily in groups.C.Laugh tracks are popular in comedy shows.D.Laughing is uncontrollable in conferences.3.What can we learn from Paragraph 5?A.Laughing with others is out of politeness.B.Laughing is the only way to reduce pain.C.Laughing improves physical and mental health.D.Laughing leads to a higher position in the workplace.4.What would the author most probably discuss next?A.Specific steps to produce laughter in a team.B.Other factors that may influence a team’s health.C.Ways to tell the real world from the virtual world.D.The importance of maintaining work productivity.Ma Long has had a good student image since childhood Ma, born in Anshan, Liaoning, the “hone of table tennis”, was sent by his father to practice table tennis when he was 5 years old, and he went to Shenyang at the age of 11. At 15, Ma Long joined the national team. Although he was the least talkative boy of the players, his perseverance (坚持不懈) was as great as his overall strength in table tennis. In 2006, at 18, Ma Long, together with his teammates, won a team world championship.Behind early fame of the genius is Ma Long’s almost paranoid (偏执的) strictness towards himself. His daily routine throughout four seasons was a two—point line between the dormitory and the training hall, and he was the first to arrive and the last to leave on a daily basis. He had been doing so for ten years, monotonously and repetitively. His coach Liu Guoliang once said, “I went to the table tennis hall on a Sunday morning for an unannounced inspection to see how many players were training on Sunday. Only one person in the men’s first team was there… A genius is not your fear, but your fear is that a genius works harder than you do.” Such a genius is Ma Long. However, after joining the team for nearly a decade, he suffered various types of failure, and thus was questioned by everyone. At that time, Zhang Jike, another top player, returned to the national team. From then on, Zhang was so invincible that he achieved the personal Grand Slam(大满贯) within only 445 days, which was done in the shortest time in record. Seeing Zhang’s achievements, Ma Long, at the lowest point, had the idea of retiring. But he was unwilling to just “disappear”.Then came the Suzhou 2015 World Championship, Ma Long crowned his career, winning the singles champion, and it had been ten years since he won a world championship last time. The bright lights of a nearby barbershop went off instantlyGroups of young athletes practicing Parkour—the practice of passing obstacles in a man—made or natural environment through the use of running, vaulting (腾跃), jumping, climbing, rolling, and other movements in order to travel from one point to another in the quickest and most efficient way possible without the use of equipment—have been swinging around big French cities switching off wasteful shop signs at night, in an effort to fight light pollution and save energy. These so—called Light Off operations have become extra popular in recent months, with France embarking on energy conservation efforts.Paris, the City of Light, is a favorite target. While its landmark monuments now go dark earlier than usual, many store signs still stay lit all night.“Everyone can contribute in their own way” to save energy, said Kevin Ha, the leader of the Paris—based Op he Spot Parkour group, with about 20 members. “We put our physical abilities to good use.”Enforcing the orders in place of the authorities certainly enters a legal gray area. But the group said all the police officers they have met during their rounds have approved of their deeds—as long as it causes no damage.9.Which of the following options is NOT Parkour’s feature?A.It doesn’t need any tools to assist movement.B.It can only be practiced in an enclosed environment.C.It aims to travel from one point to another in the quickest way.D.It is practiced through running, vaulting, jumping, climbing, etc.10.Why do young athletes in Paris take part in Parkour?A.To invite more youths to join them in competition.B.To overcome physical boundaries and build fitness.C.To reduce the consequences of energy consumption.D.To tour around feeling the unique beauty of Paris at night.11.What does Kevin Ha think of the Parkour participants?A.They are honest.B.They are creative.C.They are selfish.D.They are optimistic. 12.How did the police react to the Light Off operations of the young?A.They gave their unspoken agreement.B.They took these actions as illegal.C.They believed there must be damage caused.D.They held an indifferent attitude towards them.Done with Dragon’s Back and tired of the Twin Peaks? And the survival rate (存活率) of out-of-hospital heart attacks is much lower than those that happen at the in-hospital setting.Pumpstart, a program created by students at Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM) which is meant to teach hands-only CPR (心脏复苏术) to the general public, is effective in both teaching high school students a life-saving skill and providing medical students with a chance totake part in public health and medical education after several surveys.High school students in the Boston area who joined in the Pumpstart program completedpre-/post surveys. The pre-surveys were carried out before they watched a 60-minute training session (培训课程) on hands-only CPR. And the post surveys were done after the training session. Medical students also completed surveys judging their comfort in learning CPR both before and after they took part in the program. The high school students reported huge improvements in CPR skills following their training from Pumpstart. And it was reported that the medical students had higher confidence levels regarding their abilities to answer questions about CPR and helping new medical students to better understand the training sessions after they joined in Pumpstart.“Getting the general public to feel comfortable performing CPR is important to overall improved survival from heart attacks,” explained Anita Knopov, a fourth-year medical student at BUSM. “Using educational resources provided by the city medical center and offering training to inner-city high school students allow medical students to serve as both educators and experienced people in CPR within the community, while making high school students interested in the healthcare field (医疗领域). That’s what Pumpstart does.”Knopov believes Pumpstart can serve as a model for other organizations and can have a long-term (长期的) public health influence as the bystander CPR continues to be one of the most useful factors in out-of-hospital (医院之外) heart attack survival. “Although Pumpstart is offered only in Boston, we hope that our work may stimulate the development of similar programs in other areas. And in that case we can use lots of new ‘Pumpstarts’ in other regions.”16.What is the main purpose of Pumpstart?A.To change people’s lifestyle.B.To train students to be healthyC.To improve CPR skills of the public.D.To provide medical care for communities.17.What does Paragraph 4 imply?A.Pumpstart improves students self-confidenceB.Pumpstart performs CPR for people independently.C.Pumpstart obviously reduces the risk of heart attacksD.Pumpstart encourages students to work in the healthcare field18.What does Anita Knopov think of the program?A.Pretty useful.B.Widely popularC.Partly confusing.D.Fairly interesting19.What does the underlined word “stimulate” in the last paragraph mean?A.Check B.PreventC.Encourage D.SlowHave you gotten price shock lately when you looked at the cost of a new car? It’s not your imagination .The average price of a new car is the highest ever for the first quarter, according to CNBC.At $33, 319, the price is about $1,000 more than in 2018. Because of that, new car sales dropped by as many as 2.5 million units compared to the same quarter last year. You’d think the drop might concern car makers, but as it turns out, the increase of the price reflects a choice. Many carmakers are stopping producing less expensive cars in favor of SUVS and pickup trucks, which bring in bigger profits(利润).“Carmakers always say they build what people want.” The Wall Street Journal reporter Dan Neil said. “But they never mention the fact that they spend billions telling people what they want. It wasn’t that consumers wanted to have a truck that was as big as a house. No, that was a gradual process. And it has been mainly pushed by carmakers because bigger equals more profits.”In late 2018, Ford announced it was gradually stopping producing its Fiesta, Focus, andC-max models in the United States while continuing to make the Mustang and Focus Active. Other big carmakers did the same, with General Motors ending production of the Chevy Volt, Cruz, Impala, Buick Lacrosse. Cadillac XTS, and Cadillac CT6 in the United States. And Fiat Chrysler is putting the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200 to an end. “I can tell you right now that both the Chrysler 200 and the Dodge Dart, as great products as they were, are the least financially rewarding business that we’ve carried out in the last eight years,” said Fiat Chrysler CEO.So where does that leave consumers? Well, if you’re in the market for an SUV or atop-of-the-line pickup truck, you can expect better features. But if you’re looking for a smaller, less expensive car you might be squeezed (挤)out of the market. More and more buyers are likely to look to used cars instead. But before car shopping, make sure you know the secrets car dealers don’t want to tell you.20.What caused the drop in new car sales this year?A.The decline of cars quality B.The rising price of new carsC.The change of market demand D.The decrease of carmakers’ number 21.What do Dans words imply about the car market?A.Carmakers always know the true need of consumersB.Carmakers produce bigger cars because of the social trendC.Consumers really depend less on carmakers in buying carsD.Consumers’ shopping decisions are influenced by carmakers22.Paragraph 4 suggests that carmakers production plans_________.A.are driven by profits B.can be unwise sometimesC.may influence the quality of cars D.fail to meet some people’s demands 23.What can we learn from the last paragraph?A.Most people don’t prefer small cars any more.B.Producing small cars brings less profit to carmakers.C.Small cars can’t provide better features for consumers.D.Buying second-hand cars is a good choice for some people.Do you want to travel the world? Toronto-based travel company G Adventures has picked out the best places to visit in 2019.UzbekistanIn 2018, Uzbekistan relaxed its visa entry requirements(签证政策) by introducing a newe-visa for 51 countries, including Canada. Because of the easy visa entry requirements, it attracts more travellers. And G Adventures has seen a 72 percent increase in travellers to Uzbekistan. It’s no wonder that the beautiful buildings, historical importance and friendly people make Uzbekistan one of the best places to visit in 2019.Taiwan ChinaRecently called by The New York Times “Asia’s most- food- obsessed (对食物着迷的) place”, Taiwan is heaven for travellers who enjoy food very much. Its culture shows through its busy cities natural landscapes (风景) and mouthwatering night markets。

AOn the first day of school our professor introduced himself and challenged us to get to know someone we didn't know. I looked around when a gentle hand touched my shoulder to find a wrinkled, little old lady with a smile. She said“Hi, handsome! My name is Rose, I‟m 87 years old.Can I give you a hug?”I laughed and enthusiastically responded, “Of course you may!” and she gave me a giant squeeze.“Why are you in college at such a young age?”I asked.“I always dreamed of having a college education and now I‟m getting one!”she told me. After class we walked to the Student Union building and shared a chocolate mistake. We became instant friends.Everyday for the next three months we would leave class together and talk nonstop. I was always attracted listening to this “time machine” as she shared her wisdom and experience with me. Over the course of the year,Rose became a campus icon(偶像) and she easily made friends wherever she went. She loved to dress up and she enjoyed the attention from the other students. At the end of the semester we invited Rose to speak at our football dinner. I'll never forget what she taught us. “We do not stop playing because we are old;we grow old because we stop playing. There is a huge difference between growing older and growing up. Anybody can grow older. That doesn't take any talent or ability. The idea is to grow up by always finding the opportunities in change.Have no regrets. The elderly usually don't have regrets for what we did,but rather for things we did not do. The only people who fear death are those with regrets.” She concluded her speech by courageously singing “The Rose.” She challenged each of us to study the lyrics(歌词)and live them out in our daily lives. At the year's end Rose finished the college degree she had begun all those years ago.One week after graduation Rose died peacefully in her sleep.【文章解读】本文是一篇记叙文。

阅读理解AMy color television has given me nothing but a headache.I was able to buy it a little over a year ago because I had my relatives give me money for my birthday instead of a lot of clothes that wouldn’t fit. I let a salesclerk fool me into buying a discontinued model.I realized this day later, when I saw newspaper advertisements for the set at seventy-five dollars less than I had paid. The set worked so beautifully when I first got it home that I would keep it on until stations signed off for the night. Fortunately,I didn’t get any channels showing all-night movies or I would never have gotten to read. Then I started developing a problem with the set that involved static(静电)noise. For some reason, when certain shows switched into a commercial,a loud noise would sound for a few seconds.Gradually, this noise began to appear during show, and to get rid of it,I had to change to another channel and then change it back.Sometimes this technique would not work, and I had to pick up the set and shake it to remove the sound.I actually began to build up my arm muscles shaking my set. When neither of these methods removed the static noise,I would sit helplessly and wait for the noise to go away.At last I ended up hitting the set with my first, and it stopped working altogether. My trip to repair shop cost$62,and the set is working will now,but I keep expecting more trouble.1.Why did the author say he was fooled into buying the TV set?A.He got an older model than he had expected.B.He couldn’t return it when it was broken.C.He couldn’t have bought it at a lower price.D.He failed to find any movie show on it.2.Which of the following can best replace the phrase”signed off”in paragraph 1?A.ended all their programsB.provided fewer channelsC.changed to commercialsD.showed all night movies3.How did the author finally get his TV set working again?A.By shaking and hitting itB.By turning it on and offC.By switching channelsD.By having it repair.4.How does the author sound when telling the story?A.CuriosB.AnxiousC.cautiousD.humorousBYour house may have an effect on your figure. Experts say the way you design your home could play a role in whether you pack on the pounds or keep them off. You can make your environment work for you instead of against you. Here are some ways to turn your home into part of your diet plan.Open the curtains and turn up the lights. Dark environments are more likely to encourage overeating, for people are often less self-conscious(难为情)when they’re in poorly lit places and so more likely to eat lots of food. If your home doesn’t have enough window light, get more lamps and flood the place with brightness.Mind the colors. Research suggests warm colors fuel our appetites. In one study, people who ate meals in blue room consumed 33percent less than in a yellow or red room. Warm colors like yellow make food appear more appetizing, while cold colors make us feel less hungry. So when it’s time to repaint,go blue.Don’t forget the clock-or the radio.People who eat slowly tend to consume about 70fewer calories per meal than those who rush through their meals. Begin keeping track of the time, and try to make dinner last at least 30 minutes. And while you’re at it, actually sit down to eat. If you need some help slowing down, turn on relaxing music. It makes you less likely to rush through a meal.Downsize the dishes. Big serving bowls and plates can easily make us fat. We eat about 22percent more when using a 12-inch plate instead of a 10-inch plate. When we choose a large spoon over a smaller one, total intake(摄入)jumps by 14 percent. And we’ll pour about 30 percent more liquid into a short, wide glass than a tall, skinny glass.5.The text is especially helpful for those who care about_________.A.their home comfortsB.their body shapeC.house buyingD.healthy diets6.A home environment in blue can help people__________.A.digest food betterB.reduce food intakeC.burn more caloriesD.regain their appetites.7.What are people advised to do at mealtimes?A.eat quicklyB.play fast musice smaller spoonsD.turn down lights.8.What can be a suitable title for the text?A.Is Your House Making You Fat?B.Ways of Serving Dinner.C.Effects of Self-Consciousness.D. Is Your Home Environment Relaxing?More students than ever before are taking a gap year(间隔年)before going ti university. It used to be called the”year off” between school and university. Owain James, the president of the National Union of Students(NUS),argued that the increase is evidence of student hardship-young people are being forced into earning money before finishing their education.”New students are now aware that they are likely to leave university up to $15000 in debt,It is not surprising that more and more students are taking a gap year to earn money to support their study for degree.
