Protein kinase modifies other proteins by chemically phosphorylation the serine and threonine sites of these proteins, which usually causes the functional change of these proteins, such as changing enzyme activity, cellular location, or association with other proteins. Protein kinases have been involved in regulating a majority of cellular pathways, especially those involved in signal transduction [2]. H-8 potently inhibited the activity of PKA and PKG and showed moderate inhibition for PKC and MLCK with Ki values of 1.2, 0.48, 15, and 68 μM, respectively [1]. H-8 disrupted transcriptional elongation by inhibiting cyclin C/Cdk8 and cyclin H/Cdk7/p36 CTD kinase activity with the IC50 values of 47 and 6.2 μM, respectively [3]. 参考文献:
