介绍云南景点以及酒店的旅游英语作文
介绍云南景点以及酒店的旅游英语作文全文共5篇示例,供读者参考篇1Yunnan Is The Best Place For A Holiday!Hi friends! I went on the most amazing trip to Yunnan Province in China with my family last summer. Yunnan is in the very southwest part of China, and it has sooooo many incredible places to see and fun things to do. I'm going to tell you all about the awesome places we visited and the cool hotels we stayed at. Get ready for an adventure! Our trip started in Kunming, which is the capital city of Yunnan. Kunming has a really cool nickname - it's called the "City of Eternal Spring" because the weather there is spring-like all year round! While we were there, we went to the Huating Temple. This Buddhist temple was first built over 1,200 years ago! Can you believe a building could be that old? It has the most beautiful gardens with ponds full of koi fish and flowers blooming everywhere. My little sister loved watching the colorful fish swim around. After exploring Kunming for a couple days, we drove up into the mountains to Dali. This area has an ancient city that used to be the capital a long time ago. The old town area has sooo many shops and restaurants lining the little cobblestone streets. We stayed at an awesome hotel called Dali Traveling With Hostel that was built in a traditional Bai ethnic minority style with pretty carved wooden decorations everywhere. At night, we sat on the rooftop patio and looked up at a million stars in the sky! Dali also has incredible views of the Cangshan Mountains towering over the city.Next, we went WAY up into the highest mountains in Yunnan to an area called Shangri-La. This place is often called thereal-life Shangri-La because the scenery looks just like the mythical paradise described in books! The landscapes there are mind-blowingly gorgeous with snowy mountain peaks, bright blue lakes, and green valleys full of colorful wildflowers. We took a hiking tour through the Napa Lake Nature Reserve and saw yaks grazing in the fields up close! For a few nights, we stayed at the amazing Songshanquan Resort which had a beautiful hot spring pool you could soak in while admiring the mountains. I felt like I was relaxing in a fairy wonderland! After heading back down from the mountains, we spent a couple days in the town of Lijiang. This place is known for its old town that was built over 800 years ago by the Naxi ethnic minority group. All the buildings have really cool architecture with intricate wood carvings and little canals running through the streets. It felt like we had traveled back in time! We stayed at the Hua Hin Resort which had a mix of modern and traditional Naxi design. My favorite part was the big courtyard in the middle with a pond and bridge over it. For dinner one night, we ate at a Naxi restaurant and tried dishes like fried potatoes with mint, rice fritters, and chicken baked in a salt crust. Yummy! The last stop on our Yunnan adventure was Xishuangbanna near the border with Laos and Myanmar. This area has a tropical rainforest climate, so it was pretty hot but also very green and lush. One day, we went to the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden which has the biggest butterfly museum I've ever seen! There were thousands of beautiful butterflies from all over the world flying around in a huge enclosure. We also visited an ethnic village where we learned about the traditions of the Dai minority group. They showed us how to make bamboo baskets and paper umbrellas. For our hotel, we stayed at the Anantara Xishuangbanna Resort which had an amazing pool surroundedby palm trees, frangipani flowers, and flowing water gardens. It felt like our own private tropical paradise!I had sooo much fun exploring all the different landscapes, cultures, and foods that Yunnan has to offer. From the ancient Buddhist temples and ethnic minority villages to the snowy mountains and lush rainforests, there was beautiful nature everywhere we looked. And the hotels we stayed at were all so unique, interesting, and lovely. Yunnan really is an awesome place for an adventurous family vacation! If you ever get the chance to go there, you absolutely should. I promise you'll make amazing memories!篇2My Amazing Trip to Yunnan Province, China!Hi, my name is Emma and I'm 10 years old. Last summer, my family went on the coolest vacation ever to Yunnan Province in southwest China! It was sooo much fun and I saw the most amazing sights. I'm going to tell you all about it!We started our trip in Kunming, the capital city of Yunnan. It's called the "City of Eternal Spring" because it has beautiful flowers blooming all year round. The weather was perfect - not too hot and not too cold. Our hotel was awesome - it had a hugeswimming pool shaped like a dragon! After resting for a day, we went to explore the stunning Dianchi Lake. The lake is super big and the water is really clear. We went on a boat tour and I even got to feed the fish!Next up was Dali Ancient Town. This was my favorite place! The old town is over 1,000 years old with tons of cool traditional buildings and cobblestone streets. It felt like stepping back in time. Our hotel was inside the ancient city walls and looked like a palace from long ago. I loved wandering around peeking into all the little shops and trying delicious local snacks. One day, we hiked up a hill to explore the Three Pagodas - they are these gigantic old temples that were built hundreds of years ago. So amazing! After Dali, we went to see the legendary Stone Forest near Kunming. This is a totally bizarre landscape made of hundreds of huge stone pillars and stalagmites sticking out of the ground. Our guide told us they formed naturally over millions of years from erosion. It was mindblowing walking through the stone forest - I felt like I was on an alien planet! That night we stayed in a hotel inside the national park area. My favorite part was their trails through the karst caves and underground rivers. The grand finale of our Yunnan trip was Lijiang Ancient Town. This place was huuuge and completely surrounded by snowy mountains. The main streets were pedestrian-only with ladies in traditional dress selling crafts and souvenirs. We stayed at an awesome boutique hotel carved into the side of the mountain with a glassfloor overlooking the valley below - I've never seen a view like that! While in Lijiang, we took a day trip out to the spectacular Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. The mountain is over 18,000 feet tall and had tons of bright blue lakes and glaciers. We went on a cable car ride partway up and did some hiking around the meadows full of wildflowers. It was breathtaking!Yunnan has so many amazing sights and our trip was an adventure I'll never forget. The ancient towns felt like real-life fairy tales and the natural scenery was out-of-this-world beautiful. I'm so grateful my family took me there to explore. If you ever get a chance to go to Yunnan, you have to take it! Just be sure to stay at cool hotels and buckle up for the journey of a lifetime!篇3My Amazing Trip to Yunnan, China!Hi everyone! My name is Lily and I'm 10 years old. This summer, my family went on the most incredible trip to Yunnan Province in southwest China. Yunnan is famous for its beautiful scenery and minority cultures. I had so much fun exploring and want to tell you all about it!First, we flew into the capital city of Kunming. Our hotel there was called the Green Lake Hotel because it's right next to a huge lake called Green Lake. The hotel looked like a fairy tale castle with pointy blue roofs. The rooms were so pretty with silk bedsheets and wooden carvings on the walls. Every morning we had an amazing breakfast buffet with dumplings, noodles, fruit, and more! From Kunming, we drove north to the Stone Forest. This is a crazy landscape of huge stone pinnacles and pillars that were formed from karst erosion over millions of years. Walking through the stone forest felt like being in an alien world or a maze! The tallest pillars were over 80 feet high. Our tour guide said they used to be underwater but eventually the water drained away, leaving just the stone pinnacles behind. So cool!Next up was Dali, an ancient town near a beautiful lake. We stayed in a hotel called the Tao Garden Boutique Hotel that used to be a scholar's house from the Ming Dynasty hundreds of yearsago. The courtyards were filled with bonsai trees, flowers, and stone pathways. We got to go on a boat tour across Erhai Lake and see Jinsuo Island up close. This little island has houses built right on the water that are over 1,000 years old! Women there are famous for making batik prints on fabric. I even got a batik scarf as a souvenir. Then we went even farther north to Lijiang, home of the Naxi ethnic minority people. The Old Town area was my favorite with its narrow cobblestone streets and streams running between buildings. We stayed at the awesome Arro Lijiang Hotel which had a roof deck with views over the entire Old Town and Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in the distance. I loved walking around the Old Town shops and watching performers play traditional Naxi music. For the grand finale of our Yunnan trip, we visited the breathtaking Tiger Leaping Gorge! This is one of the deepest canyons in the world, over 3,000 meters from top to bottom. We took a hiking trail along the edge with the most insane views of huge cliffs, waterfalls, and the Jinsha River far below. Our hotel at the gorge was called Tina's Guesthouse, a rustic inn where we stayed overnight. They had an open-air hot pot restaurant built right over the rushing waters of the river. We ordered a yak meatand veggie hot pot which was so fresh and delicious after our long hike.I'll never forget the amazing places and experiences we had in Yunnan. From the stone forest to the ancient towns, to the majestic gorges and snow-capped mountains, it was like areal-life fairy tale adventure. I hope I can visit again someday to see more of this magical province! Thanks for reading about my awesome summer vacation.篇4My Amazing Trip to Yunnan, China!Hi friends! I just got back from the coolest trip ever to Yunnan province in southwest China. My mom, dad, and little brother went for Spring Break and it was SO much fun. I saw amazing views, tried delicious foods, and got to be a real explorer. Let me tell you all about it!First up, we flew into the city of Kunming, which is the capital of Yunnan. It's known as the "City of Eternal Spring" because the weather is nice and mild all year round. We stayed at this awesome hotel called the Grand Park Kunming. It had the most giant swimming pool I've ever seen! The rooms were really pretty too with lots of wooden decorations. My favorite part was thehuge outdoor plaza area with gardens, ponds, and these traditional Chinese pavilions. We had breakfast there every morning and I stuffed myself with dumplings, noodles, and sweet coconut bread. After exploring Kunming for a couple days, we drove out to the Stone Forest near the city. This is a totally mind-blowing landscape of huge stone pinnacles and pillars sticking out of the ground. Our tour guide said they were formed over millions and millions of years by wind and rainwater erosion. It felt like being on an alien planet! We hiked along trails through the forest, climbing up and down narrow paths with the crazy rock formations all around us. I pretended I was an astronaut exploring a new world. We also saw some famous spots like the Stone Lotus Lake and the Palace of Pudit. Then it was off to see Dali and Lijiang, two of the most picturesque old towns in all of China. Dali has a history going back over 1,000 years and the old city center is surrounded by an ancient stone wall with towers and gates. Inside the walls, we wandered through winding alleyways lined with traditional wooden houses with upturned roof eaves. There were tons of little shops, restaurants, and artisan workshops too. We stayed at this really unique hotel called the Dali Triple Courtyard BoutiqueHotel which used to be a wealthy family's residence centuries ago. Our room opened up onto a beautiful interior courtyard garden. So cool! After Dali, we headed up into the mountains to Lijiang. This might have been my favorite place on the whole trip! Lijiang is an old town built by the Naxi ethnic minority people, with stunning architecture made from wood, stone, and intricately carved designs. The little canals and streams running through the town made it feel like a real-life Venice. We stayed at a Naxi guesthouse called the Pu'an Inn which let us experience living in a traditional Naxi residence. I loved the Naxi music, clothing, and cuisine. One night we even went to see an amazing ethnic dance performance! The last and definitely most epic part of our Yunnan adventure was a visit to the unbelievable Pudacuo National Park near Lijiang. This place is home to the famous Tiger Leaping Gorge - one of the deepest canyons on the entire planet! We went on a short hike along the gorge and I've never seen anything so massive and steep in my life. The stone cliffs rise up over 3,000 meters (that's almost 2 miles!) on both sides with the raging Jinsha River at the bottom. Luckily the trail was pretty safe with guard rails and steps carved into the mountainside. I felt sotiny looking out across that humongous chasm. What an incredible natural wonder!By the end, my brain was bursting with all the amazing scenery, culture, food, and experiences from our Yunnan trip. We saw ancient cities, funky stone forests, roaring rivers, towering mountains, and met incredibly kind and welcoming people everywhere we went. I already can't wait to go back and explore more of this awesome province! If you ever get a chance to visit Yunnan, you absolutely have to go. It's a real-life journey to another world.篇5My Big Trip to Yunnan Province!Hi everyone! My name is Xiaoming and I'm 10 years old. One of the highlights was visiting Shangri-La, an area that truly lives up to its magical name. The mountains there aresimply breathtaking, with snowy peaks surrounded by pristine forests and fields of wildflowers. We went hiking on trails through the mountains and it felt like we were explorers discovering a hidden paradise.Another scenic wonder we saw was the Stone Forest near Kunming. This is a mesopotamic landscape of huge stone pillars and spires carved by wind and rain over millions of years. Walking through the petrified forest felt like being transported to an alien planet! I've never seen anything like it. The stone formations have such crazy, twisted shapes that it's hard to believe they formed naturally. Touring the Stone Forest was like stepping into a real-life fantasy world. Then there are the incredible rivers of Yunnan. We took a boat cruise down the Yangtze River and saw the spectacular Tiger Leaping Gorge, one of the deepest canyons on Earth. Gazing up at the sheer cliffs towering thousands of feet above the rushing waters was just mind-blowing. And we saw the mighty Mekong River that originates on the Tibetan plateau and flows through several countries before emptying into the South China Sea. Our guide told us that Yunnan has over 600 rivers and lakes - it's like a giant water world! The culture and history of Yunnan is also fascinating. The province is home to many different ethnic minority groups like the Dai, Bai, and Naxi peoples who have maintained their rich traditions for centuries. We visited villages where the local people still live in traditional wooden houses and wear colorful handmade clothes decorated withancient symbols and patterns.I loved watching the cultural performances of music and dance passed down through generations. It was like traveling back in time!We also explored amazing historical sites like the Dayan Ancient Town that dates back over 1,000 years to the Nanzhao Kingdom era. Walking through the winding alleyways lined with traditional architecture and watching artisans practicing crafts like dyeing cloth and making pottery using centuries-old methods really brought the past to life. But Yunnan isn't just about sightseeing - there are also so many awesome activities for kids to enjoy. My favorite was our day at the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden. This enormous nature reserve has over 13,000 plant species from around the world, including endangered plants like the Corpse Flower and prehistoric species of ferns and cycads. We hiked along trails through the dense jungles, spotted cool animals likegibbons and flying foxes, and learned all about the incredible biodiversity of rainforest ecosystems. I felt like a real explorer trekking through the untamed wilderness.Another big highlight for me was visiting the Yuanyang Rice Terraces. These ancient terraced fields carved into the mountainsides by the Hani people over 1,300 years ago are a breathtaking sight. We hiked up into the terraces and it was like walking through a surreal landscape painting, with the green and gold layered rice paddies appearing to spill down the hillsides like flowing curtains. I had so much fun exploring the small Hani villages nestled among the terraces and learning about their farming culture from the friendly locals.I could go on and on about all the incredible places we visited in Yunnan - from the Pu'er tea plantations to the Buddhist temples carved straight into cliffsides to the mind-boggling biodiversity of the Xishuangbanna Rainforest. Everywhere we went, my eyes were opened to new natural wonders and fascinating cultures that left me awestruck.Yunnan is truly one of the most special places on Earth. The vibrant mix of stunning landscapes, diverse ethnic groups, rich history, and exhilarating activities makes it a dream destination for any curious kid who loves to explore new frontiers. Whetheryou want to immerse yourself in untamed nature, discover remnants of ancient civilizations, or try daring outdoor adventures, Yunnan has it all. It's an endlessly amazing place that will spark your imagination and leave you with memories to last a lifetime.I can't wait to go back to Yunnan's wonderland again someday. Maybe next time I'll get to see the province's fabled Shangri-La valley that was inspiration for James Hilton's classic novel about a mystical Himalayan paradise. In Yunnan, fairy tales really do seem to come to life! If you ever get the chance to travel there, you have to go. Just be sure to bring your spirit of adventure...and maybe a magnifying glass too so you don't miss any of the magic! Yunnan will change how you see the world.篇3Yunnan: A Wonderland for Young AdventurersHave you ever dreamed of going on an amazing adventure?A place filled with towering mountains, ancient cities, friendly elephants, and the most delicious foods you've ever tasted? Well, let me tell you all about the awesome province of Yunnan in southwest China – it's like a real-life fantasyland!Last summer, my parents took me and my little sister on the best vacation ever to Yunnan. At first, I wasn't too excited because I thought it would be boring. Boy, was I wrong! From the moment we stepped off the plane, I was amazed by how different everything looked and felt. The biggest shocker was the weather. Back home, summer is crazy hot and humid. But in Yunnan's capital city Kunming, it was like permanent spring with warm sunny days and cool nights. The locals even call it the "Spring City"! No more sweating buckets or being cooped up with the A/C – my sister and I could actually play outside comfortably. Our first stop was the Stone Forest, which is exactly what it sounds like – a forest made of stone! Thousands of huge grey rocks and pillars stuck straight out of the ground, twisting into the strangest shapes. I've never seen anything like it. My favorite part was squeezing through the narrow corridors between the stones and pretending I was a brave explorer discovering hidden treasures. From there, we traveled through the countryside to see traditional villages from different ethnic minority groups. Each one had its own style of colorful buildings, exotic clothes, and unique customs. In one Dai village, we watched a ceremonywhere men danced with gigantic mock swords and women balanced amazing headdresses on their heads. At a Bai settlement, the friendly locals taught us how to make linen paper and dye it with vibrant flowers.Seeing those ancient cultures up close made me feel like I had traveled back in time! But Yunnan also has some incredibly modern cities that look straight out of the future, like Lijiang and Dali. The old town areas still have pretty cobblestone streets lined with wooden houses and canals. But just outside are brand new shopping malls, skyscrapers, and even a bullet train station! It was such a cool blend of past and present.Speaking of cool blends, Yunnan has foods that combine so many amazing flavors. Everywhere we went there were street vendors selling skewers of chicken, beef, veggies, or even insects to snack on. My favorite treat was the fried crispy cheese – it sounds weird but it was absolutely delicious! For meals, we ate lots of rice noodle soups bursting with interesting spices like star anise, Sichuan peppercorns, and lemongrass. Yummy! But as much as I loved the food, my very favorite part of our Yunnan adventure was all the incredible animals we got to see. There were wild monkeys swinging through the trees in the tropical rainforests of Xishuangbanna. Herds of majestic Asianelephants roamed protected sanctuaries in Pu'er, where we could watch them bathe and play in the rivers. We even visited a reserve full of giant pandas lazily munching on bamboo. Seeing those endangered cuties up close was a dream come true for an animal lover like me!Throughout our trip, I felt like we were discovering a new wonder around every corner. From the moment we landed until we headed back home, Yunnan never ceased to amaze me with its beautiful landscapes, diverse cultures, and unforgettable experiences. Now whenever someone asks me where I want to go on vacation, I always exclaim "Let's go back to Yunnan!" It really is a fantasyland full of treasures and thrills for a young explorer to uncover. I can't wait for my next Yunnan adventure!篇4Yunnan: A Wonderful Place to TravelHi everyone! My name is Emma and I'm 10 years old. I recently went on an amazing trip to Yunnan Province in southwest China with my parents and little brother. Yunnan is such a beautiful and fun place to visit - I had the time of my life! Let me tell you all about our incredible journey. Our trip started in Kunming, the capital city of Yunnan. Kunming has a really cool nickname - it's called the "City of Eternal Spring" because of its mild weather year-round. It's a pretty modern city, but there are also lots of old temples, pagodas, and parks to explore. We visited the Yuantong Temple, which was built over 1,200 years ago during the Tang Dynasty! The ornate buildings with their curvy roofs and bright colors were so neat to see. After spending a couple days in Kunming, we headed north to Dali. This ancient town sits on the shores of Er Hai Lake and is surrounded by mountains. It's famous for its historic architecture with white-washed buildings and bluestone-paved streets and canals. We took a boat ride out on Er Hai which was beautiful - the water was so clear and blue! From the middle of the lake, we could see Cang Mountain towering over the town. My little brother and I had fun feeding the fish right off the side of our boat. One of the coolest things we did in Dali was ride the Dali Foreigner Street Cable Car up the mountainside. At the top of the mountain, there was a village where the Bai ethnic minority people live. We wandered around their little houses and shops and even saw some ladies making tie-dye cloth using naturalplant dyes. For lunch, we ate authentic Bai cuisine like crispy fried cheese and buttery vendors selling all sorts of handmade handicrafts.Next up was Lijiang, which might have been my favorite stop. Lijiang is an incredible 800-year-old town with centuries-old houses and canals lining the cobblestone streets. Parts of it looked like something out of a fairy tale book! We stayed in Lijiang for three nights and I could have spent weeks just wandering around and exploring. The architecture there was built without any nails at all - just pieces of carved wood fit together like a puzzle. One day we took a day trip out to Tiger Leaping Gorge, one of the deepest canyons in the world. Can you believe the gorge is over 3,000 meters deep in some spots? That's almost 4 times taller than the Empire State Building is high! We hiked along a trail that ran right along the edge of the massive gorge and got some incredible views of the rushing river far below between the sheer cliffs. My legs were pretty sore after all that hiking but it was so worth it.Our last stop in Yunnan was Shangri-La, which is up in the mountains right near the border with Tibet. Shangri-La is home to the Tibetan people and everywhere we went we saw colorfulprayer flags, monasteries, and yaks! We visited the famous Songzanlin Monastery which is one of the most important Buddhist sites in the entire region. The monks there let me spin the huge prayer wheels and taught me a few Tibetan words. My mom and dad had booked us on a multi-day hiking trip through the mountains around Shangri-La. We slept in these cool traditional Tibetan tents made of yak hair and wool and cooked our meals over an open campfire every night. During the days we hiked through the incredible alpine scenery, passing by grazing yaks, blooming rhododendron flowers, and pristine glacial lakes. We even got to see the legendary Jade Dragon Snow Mountain which has snow covering its peaks year-round. Our guide pointed out wild blue sheep, monkeys, and other cool animals living amongst the cliffs. Camping in such a beautiful place under all those bright stars was just magical.I could probably go on and on about Yunnan - we really crammed so much into our 2-week trip. From the tasty minority cuisine to the unbelievable mountain landscapes to the fascinating mix of cultures and peoples, there was something exciting around every corner. Yunnan felt like a truly special part of China that not many foreign tourists get to experience. My family and I made so many wonderful memories that I'll neverforget this trip. If you ever get the chance to travel to Yunnan, you absolutely have to go! Just be sure to bring your hiking boots and a strong sense of adventure. Thanks for reading about my amazing Yunnan adventure!篇5Yunnan, a Magical Land for Young ExplorersYunnan is a place where dreams come alive and adventures await around every corner. As a young explorer, I can't help but feel excited whenever I think about this enchanting province in China's southwest. It's a land of breathtaking natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and endless possibilities for discovery. One of the things that makes Yunnan so special is its stunning landscapes. From the majestic snow-capped peaks of the Yulong Mountains to the serene waters of the Erhai Lake, there is always something that will leave you in awe. Imagine hiking through lush forests filled with towering ancient trees and listening to the melodious songs of exotic birds. Or picture yourself standing atop a mountain, taking in the panoramic views of rolling hills and valleys that stretch as far as the eye can see.But Yunnan isn't just about its natural wonders; it's also a place rich in history and culture. The province is home to numerous ethnic minorities, each with their own unique traditions, customs, and way of life. Imagine wandering through a traditional village, where colorful houses line the streets, and friendly locals invite you to join in their festivities. Or envision yourself exploring ancient temples and monasteries, where the air is thick with the scent of incense and the sound of chanting monks. One of my favorite things about Yunnan is the delicious food. From the mouth-watering spicy dishes of the Dai minority to the fragrant and flavorful Yunnan noodles, every bite is a culinary adventure. And let's not forget about the famous Pu'er tea, which is grown in the lush tea plantations of the region. Just the thought of sipping a steaming cup of this earthy and rich tea makes my taste buds dance with delight. But perhaps the most magical aspect of Yunnan is its people. The warm and welcoming smiles of the locals will instantly make you feel at home. Whether you're bargaining for souvenirs in a bustling market or simply strolling through a quiet village, you'll be greeted with genuine hospitality and kindness. As I imagine exploring Yunnan, my mind is filled with visions of adventure and wonder. I can picture myself hiking through the stunning Tiger Leaping Gorge, marveling at the towering cliffs that seem to touch the sky. Or perhaps I'll find myself wandering through the ancient streets of Lijiang, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where every corner holds a new surprise.Yunnan is truly a land of enchantment, where every day brings new discoveries and memories that will last a lifetime. So pack your sense of adventure and get ready to embark on an unforgettable journey through this magical corner of the world. Who knows what incredible experiences await you in the Land of Eternal Spring?篇6Yunnan: A Wonderful Place to TravelHi everyone! My name is Lucy and I'm 10 years old. Last summer, my family took a very special trip to the province of Yunnan in southwest China. It was the best vacation ever! I want to tell you all about the amazing things we saw and did there.Yunnan is a really big province with so many different landscapes - everything from high snowy mountains to deep valleys to tropical rainforests. The first place we went wasKunming, the capital city. It's called the "City of Eternal Spring" because the weather there is nice and mild all year round. We visited some beautiful parks and lakes right in the city. My favorite was the Huating Pool - a huge clear lake surrounded by willow trees and flowers. After Kunming, we headed northwest to the ancient town of Lijiang. This place looks like it's frozen in time hundreds of years ago! The whole old town is made up of wooden buildings with little streams and bridges crisscrossing everywhere. We stayed in a traditional inn and I loved exploring all the cute shops and cafes. Lijiang is also really close to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, which has snowy peaks and glaciers you can actually hike on. The views from up there were unbelievable!Next, we drove south to Xishuangbanna, which is totally different from the other places. It's located in a tropical rainforest area near the borders with Laos and Myanmar. We stayed at an eco-resort right in the middle of the jungle and went on hikes to see waterfalls, wild elephants, and exotic plants and flowers I'd never seen before. One day we visited an ethnic village of the Dai people and got to watch them do traditional dances and music. They also taught us how to batik fabric using melted wax - so cool! After the rainforest, we headed back up to the northwest part of Yunnan to Dali and Lijiang. Dali is famous for its beautiful lake and laid-back lifestyle. We rented bikes one day and pedaled all around the lakeshore, stopping for snacks and souvenirs in the little towns along the way. Another day we hiked up to the Three Pagodas, which are these giant old Buddhist temples built over 1000 years ago! Finally, we visited the most mind-blowing place of all - the Stone Forest near Kunming. Imagine millions of huge gray rock pillars sticking straight up out of the ground, some of them hundreds of feet tall! They look like petrified trees. You can walk on paths winding between all the pillars and it feels like being transported to an alien planet or something. They say the Stone Forest was formed by erosion over millions of years, but I have a hard time believing that. It seems more like magic to me.I could go on and on about all the cool stuff we did and saw, but I'm running out of space. Visiting Yunnan was like getting to experience about 10 different vacations all rolled into one. From snow-capped peaks to rainforests to ancient towns, it has pretty much every type of scenery and culture you can imagine. If you ever get a chance to travel there, you have to go! Kids and adultsalike will be wowed by the natural beauty and make memories that will last forever. Yunnan rocks!。
