一.1.概述:本课是以谈论未来职业(What do you want to be when you grow up?) 和如何实现(How are you going to do that?)为主要内容。该内容贴近学生的
生活,具有实用性,容易激发学生的学习兴趣,也容易创设“学中用,用中学”
的情境。本班学生48人,学习英语的兴趣比较浓厚。八年级的学生已经具有了
一定的学习单词和用英语交际的能力,通过老师的引导和小组合作学习,能够实
现本课的学习目标。
2.教学资源:多媒体、PPT课
3.教学情境:创设真实的教学情境(全家福猜职业),结合学生自己的梦想职业实现
语言目标的运用。
4.教学模式:教师引导启发,学生积极参与,学生小组合作与探究学习。
5.教学方法:通过guessing games, pairwork, groupwork和make a survey 来实现
教学目标。
二.教学过程:
Ⅰ.Teaching aims:
1. Knowledge and ability objects
a. Master the words and expressions of this lesson.
cook,doctor,engineer,violinist,driver,pilot, pianist,scientist;
grow up,computer programmer
b. Target language:
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to be a basketball player.
How are you going to do that?
I’m going to practice basketball every day.
2. Moral objects
a. Learn how to talk about future intentions.
b. By talking about future intentions, students can make sure what their dream
jobs are and they will try their best to make them come true.
Ⅱ.Teaching importance and difficulties:
Importance:
1. V ocabulary: c ook,doctor,engineer,violinist,driver,pilot, pianist,scientist;
grow up,computer programmer
2. Sentences:
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to be a computer programmer.
How are you going to do that?
I’m going to study computer science.
Difficulties:How to talk about future intentions.
Ⅲ. Teaching procedures:
Step1. Lead—in:
The teacher shows her family photo to the students and let students guess what kind of jobs the family members do.
Step2. Presentation:
1. The teacher shows them some other pictures to review the words of different jobs and by showing them some more pictures to learn some new words.
2. Play two games:
a. By having a memory challenge to check if the students can master the words of different jobs.
b. By doing a guessing game to lead in the target language.
Step3. Chain work:
Practice“What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to be a ….”
Step4. Listening practice:
In this part we are going to listen to four conve rsations. They are about “What do you want to be when you grow up? How are you going to do that?” Next we do some listening practice and finish 1b. And then check the answers.
Step5 Pair work:
By making different conversations to make sure the students can master the target language.
Step6 Make a survey:
Four students make a group, they ask the group members three questions:
What do you want to be when you grow up? Why?
How are you going to do that?
After the survey, they can give a report in his or her group like this:
Report: Lily is going to be a pilot, because it is an interesting job. She is going to study hard and try her best to make her dream come true…
Then the teacher can ask several group leaders to give their reports to the whole class. Step7 Summary:
Sum up the words and the target language.
Step8. Homework:
1. Remember the new words.
2. Make two conversations and write them down on the exercise books.
3. Write a composition about your future.
a. What do you want to be when you grow up? Why?
b. How you are going to do that?
