1.while在本单元中作连词,意为“然而,却”,连接两个并列的句子,表示对比关系。
如:Some people waste food while others don't have enough food.
2.stay(1)不及物动词,“待在,停留”,短语有:stay at home待在家里,stay with some friends和朋友们待在一起;
(2)系动词,“保持”,短语有:stay healthy=keep healthy保持健康;
(3)名词,“停留”。

四)、Grammar
1.动词不定式作目的状语
动词不定式作目的状语,表示某一动作或状态的目的。
如:He stopped to_ask_the_way.
He stayed at the school to_clean_the_classroom.
为了使目的的意义更加清楚或表示强调意义时,还可以在动词前面加in order to,其否定形式为in order not +动词不定式。
如:She is running quickly in order to catch the first bus.
I will sit in the front in order to hear more clearly.
注意:由in order to 引导的目的状语,既可以置于句尾,也可置于句首。
如:They started early in_order_to_get there in time.
=In_order_to_get there in time,they started early.
2.动词不定式作宾语补足语
我们可以用动词不定式来说明宾语的情况,此时动词不定式在句中作宾语补足语。
*常跟带to 的动词不定式作宾语补足语的动词有:ask,tell,order,invite,get,allow,wish,want,encourage,advise,warn,like,love,hate 等。
如:The policeman told the boys not to_swim in the river.What do you want me to_buy for you?
*常跟不带to 的动词不定式作宾语补足语的动词有:感官动词 hear,feel,see,watch,notice等;使役动let,make和have.I saw her open the door.You can let the boy go first.
*动词help 后面的动词不定式可带to,也可不带to.
如:She often helps me (to)do the housework.We helped him (to)fix the bike.。
