All three of us were critically injured. Stacey’s brain injury was the most severe. Despite all attempts to save her, she died two days later. When I became conscious, I heard my husband talking to the organ donor coordinator(器官捐助协调员).We knew that Stacey would want that because that’s the kind of person she was. She always wanted to assist people. She was always smiling and brought so much joy to others. She was friendly and enjoyed writing stories and poetry. It has been a comfort to know that Stacey lives on in the lives of others. I have even met the family of one of Stacey’s kidney recipients (接受人). This little girl was 6 years old at the time of the transplant. She was suffering from Nephrotic Syndrome. I saw pictures showing the effects of the Nephrotic Syndrome and the pictures of her after the transplant. They already showed an amazing difference. We correspond every year through letters, cards and pictures. The girl is doing really well at school and will be graduating from high school next year. I am so grateful that we have this relationship. I also feel relieved that my daughter has made so great a difference to a person’s life.Over the years, I have had some kind of contact with all of the recipients except the heart recipient. I’m very sorry for that.I would love to hear something from the heart recipient’s family. There are so many things that I wonder about her. I wonder if she is anything like Stacey. Does she smile all the time? Does she enjoy writing stories and poetry? I do hope that they can contact us!I feel guilty because I was the one driving in the accident which caused Stacey’s death. I also feel proud that my daughter has helped so many people.4. When did Stacey die from the traffic accident?A. On May 28th, 1998B. On May 29th, 1998C. On May 31st, 1998D. On May 30th, 19985. Seeing the heart recipient.CWhen we give our kids holiday gifts, many of us can’t wait to hear their appreciative cries of “thank you!” once the wrapping gets ripped off. But here’s a tip: You’d be wise not to expect much gratitude from them for what they receive.Gratitude can make us happier, healthier, and even fitter. Butdo the kids show their gratitude for the stuff we buy them? All the research I’ve done has convinced me that it won’t happen. One mom told me that when she asked her 16-year-old son to thank he r for buying him a cellphone, he said, “But that’s what moms should do.” From a teenager’s angle, it’s a parent’s responsibility to take care of the family. According to Dunham, Yale’s assistant professor of psychology, “When teenagers code it that way, a gift is no longer something given freely and voluntarily”—it’s just mom and dad living up to their obligation.Parents do have the right to demand good manners and children should thank sincerely whoever gives them something. But kids can’t know how blesse d they are unless they have a basis for comparison. And they don’t learn that by a parent complaining that they’re ungrateful. We need to give our children the gift of a wider world view. Show by example that gratitude isn’t about stuff—which ultimately ca n’t make any of us happy anyway. It’s about realizing how lucky you are and paying your good fortune forward. You can collect all the charitable appeals and sit down together with the kids to go through them. You set the budget for giving and the kids de cide how it’s distributed. Once the conversation about gratitude gets started, it’s much easier to continue all year. Also you can set up a family routine at bedtime where kids describe three things that have made them grateful. When kids go off to college, you can text them a picture each week of something that inspires your appreciation.Teaching children to focus on the positive and appreciate the good in their lives is perhaps the greatest gift we can give them. And we can all learn together that the things that really matteraren’t on sale at a department store.8. How do children respond when receiving gifts from their parents?A. They show no interest in their parents’ gifts.B. They can’t wait to open their parents’ gifts.C. They show much gratitude to their parents for the gifts.D. They take their parents’ gifts for granted.9. To make children grateful for what they have, parents should _________.A. live up to their obligationB. ask their children to have good mannersC. teach their children by setting an exampleD. complain their children are ungrateful10. What can we learn from the last two paragraphs?A. No gifts are greater than teaching children to be positive and grateful.B. Children ought to realize how lucky they are to have considerate parents.C. Children are supposed to decide how to distribute their own moneyD. It is easy for parents to start the conversation about gratitude.11. What’s the purpose of the author writing this text?A. To explain the reason why children offer no gratitude to their parents.B. To give advice to parents on how to help children develop gratitude.C. To encourage parents to do things together with their children.D. To remind parents of their responsibility to educate theirchildren.DPeople with an impulsive personality refer to those who tend to do things without considering the possible dangers or problems first. According to a new study by researchers at the University of Georgia, such people may be more likely to have food addiction. The study found that people exhibiting impulsive behavior weren’t necessarily overweight, but impulsiveness was related to a direct relationship with food, and therefore, less healthy weight.Food addiction has been compared to addictive drug use. Studies have linked the dopamine (多巴胺) release that occurs after tasting delicious food to the dopamine release that happens when people consume other addictive substances.Impulsive behavior involves several personality traits (特点). Two of these traits, known as negative urgency and lack of perseverance, were particularly associated with food addiction and high BMI (身体质量指数) during the study.Negative urgency is characterized by the tendency to behave impulsively when experiencing negative emotions. Some people might drink alcohol or take drugs. For others, it could mean eating to feel better. Lack of perseverance is when a person has a hard time finishing hard or boring tasks. People with a lack of perseverance might have difficulty attempting to change addictive eating behavior, which could also cause obesity.“Impulsiveness might be one reason why some people eat in an addictive way despite motivation to lose weight,” said Dr. Ashley Gearhardt, a clinical psychologist. He was involved in developing the Yale Food Addiction Scale in aid of those people. “We are theorizing that if food addiction is really a thing, thenour measure, the Yale Food Addiction Scale, should be related to helping control impulsive action,” said Gearhardt.Clinical psychologist Dr. James MacKillop, whose lab was conducting the study, believes that therapies used to treat addictive drug behavior could help people who suffer from addictive eating habits.“Most of the programs for weight loss at this point focus on the most obvious things, which are clearly diet and exercise,” MacKillop said. “It seems that managing strong desires to eat would naturally fit in with the skills a person would need to eat healthily.”12. According to Paragraph 1, the result of food addiction is ________.A. less healthy weightB. motivation to lose weightC. negative emotionsD. taking alcohol or drugs13. How does the author introduce the two personality traits in Paragraph 4?A. By making comparisons and conclusions.B. By explaining causes and effects.C. By presenting questions and answers.D. By giving definitions and examples.14. What can be inferred about the Yale Food Addiction Scale from the text?A. It has been successfully carried out among overweight people.B. It might help some impulsive people with food addiction to lose weight.C. It will prove whether food addiction is a problem to impulsive people.D. It is theoretically a proper treatment for addictive food anddrug behavior.15. Which of the following can be the best title for the text?A. Dopamine release caused by food addictionB. Food addiction compared to drug useC. Impulsive personality linked to food additionD. Food addiction contributing to obesity。

2014年高考英语真题解析分类汇编:L单元 浙江(纯word可编辑)

[2014·浙江卷]A.Be a good listener.B.Care about the details.C.Strike up a conversation.D.Make time for friendships.E.Reach out to the newcomers.F.Avoid causing inconveniences.Develop better relationships with neighboursGood neighbours are a lot like electricity or running water:we don't know how much we depend on them until we don't have them. They make our lives more pleasant and give us a sense of who we are, both as an individual and as a member of the community. Here's how to develop your relationships with these very important people in your life.61.________ Often neighbours don't even know each other's names. But it's okay to be the one to break the ice, even if you've lived next door for years. Most neighbours enjoy making small talk with the folks on the other side of the fence. So as you see them at work in their yards, smile, wave, and say hello.Ask how their kids are (whether they're babies or in college),whether they could use an extra cucumber from your garden,or what they think of the prices at the local supermarket.62.________ These days, the old Welcome Wagon is a thing of the past. But your new neighbours may be feeling lonely and unsure, especially if they're far from home, and might appreciate a friendly face bearing fresh-baked chocolate cakes. If they have kids, tell them where the children in the neighbourhood live.Recommend the best places to eat and shop.Invite them over for coffee or tea when they get settled, give them your number, and point to your house as you say goodbye.63.________ Return anything that you borrow from a neighbour, such as tools,in good repair and as soon as you're finished with them.Replace anything that belongs to your neighbour that you, your children,or your pets break or soil.Make sure that your car is not blocking their doorway.Such random acts of consideration will have your neighbours talking—and the talk will be good.64.________ If you value a friendly relationship with your neighbours, spend time with them. What better way to meet your neighbours than to invite them to an informal barbecue, pool party,or holiday open house?Better yet,you might even consider throwing a get-together in their honour.Deliver the invitations in person to everyone who lives on your street and chat with each for five minutes before moving on to the next house. This way,you will get an idea of what your neighbours are like so that you can plan for appropriate food and music.65.________ In a good relationship,it's really the little things that count.Help to bring in the mail for the elderly neighbour when there is a heavy rain. When your neighbour forgets to take in his rubbish cans, roll them back into his yard.If you're truly concerned, you'll know when your neighbour needs some cheering up—a bunch of flowers or a helping hand when it's needed. All it takes to develop your relationship with neighbours is the respect for their feelings.61.C根据该段的enjoy making small talk with the folks知,该段讲述了如何与邻居开始交流,开始谈话,故选C项。

Regular physical activity can help prevent chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and obesity. It can also improve mental health by reducing stress and anxiety.Exercise is beneficial for the body in several ways. It strengthens the heart and improves circulation, which can lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of heart disease. It also helps maintain a healthy weight by burning calories and building muscle mass. Additionally, exercise can improve lung function and increase energy levels. When it comes to mental health, exercise has a positive impact on brain function. It increases the production of endorphins, which are chemicals that help reduce stress and improve mood. Exercise can also improve cognitive function by increasing blood flow to the brain and promoting the growth of new neurons. However, not all types of exercise are equally effective. The best exercise for you depends on your personal preferences and fitness level. Some people enjoy aerobic activities such as running, swimming, or cycling, while others prefer strength training or yoga. It's important to choose an exercise that you enjoy and can stick to over time.To get the most benefit from exercise, it's recommended to engage in moderate-intensity physical activity for at least 150 minutes per week. This can include brisk walking, swimming, or cycling. For those who prefer strength training, it's recommended to do it two or three times per week.In conclusion, exercise is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle. It can improve both physical and mental health, reduce the risk of chronic diseases, and increase overall well-being. So, find an exercise you enjoy and make it a part of your daily routine.46. You should choose the one that best fits the context. The rise of social media has significantly changed the way we communicate and interact with others. While it offers numerous benefits, such as staying connected with friends and family, it also has its drawbacks. One of the main advantages of social media is the ability to maintain long-distance relationships. People can easily keep in touch with loved ones who live far away, sharing updates and photos. This can be particularly helpful for those who have moved to different cities or countries for work or study. However, social media can also lead to negative consequences. One of the most common issues is the comparison trap. Many people feel the need to constantly compare themselves to others, leading to feelings of inadequacy and low self-esteem. This comparison can be fueled by the carefully curated lives that others present online, often making their own lives seem less fulfilling.Another problem is the potential for cyberbullying. Social media platforms can be breeding grounds for harassment and bullying, which can have severe emotional and psychological effects on victims. The anonymity provided by these platforms can embolden individuals to behave in ways they would not in face-to-face interactions.Despite these challenges, social media can also be a powerful tool for social change. It has been used to mobilize people for various causes, such as environmental protection, human rights, and social justice. Theability to share information quickly and widely can have a significant impact on public awareness and activism.。

It stretches over 2,300 kilometers and is home to a diverse range of marine life, including more than 1,500 fish species, 411 species of coral, and 133 species of shark.Unfortunately, the Great Barrier Reef is facing significant threats, primarily from climate change and human activities. Rising sea temperatures have led to coral bleaching, which is a process where corals lose their vibrant colors and become more susceptible to disease. Additionally, pollution from land-based activities, overfishing, and coastal development have also taken a toll on the reef.To protect the Great Barrier Reef, various conservation efforts have been implemented. The Australian government has established a Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, which includes protected areas and strictregulations on fishing and coastal development. Additionally, researchers are studying the impact of climate change on the reef and developing strategies to mitigate its effects.Question: What is the main idea of the passage?A. 高考英语真题分类汇编—阅读理解—人与自我 生活与学习(2016——2020)

阅读理解——人与自我生活与学习题组一Passage 1 (2020全国I卷B)BReturning to a book you’ve read many times can feel like drinks with an old friend. There’s a welcome familiarity—but also sometimes a slight suspicion that time has changed you both, and thus the relationship. But books don’t change, people do. And that’s what makes the act of rereading so rich and transformative. The beauty of rereading lies in the idea that our bond with the work is based on ourpresent mental register. It’s true, the older I get, the more I feel time has wings. But with reading, it’s all about the present. It’s about the now and what one contributes to the now, because reading is a give and take between author and reader. Each has to pull their own weight. There are three books I reread annually. The first, which I take to reading every spring, is Emest Hemingway’s A Moveable Feast. Published in 1964, it’s his classic memoir of 1920s Paris. The language is almost intoxicating(令人陶醉的), an aging writer looking back on an ambitious yet simpler time. Another is Annie Dillard’s Holy the Firm, her poetic 1975 ramble(随笔) about everything and nothing. The third book is Julio Cortázar’s Save Twilight: Selected Poems, because poetry. And because Cortázar. While I tend to buy a lot of books, these three were given to me as gifts, which might add to the meaning I attach to them. But I imagine that, while money is indeed wonderful and necessary, rereading an author’s work is the highest currency a reader can pay them. The best books are the ones that open further as time passes. But remember, it’s you that has to grow and read and reread in order to better understand your friends.1. Why does the author like rereading?A. It evaluates the writer-reader relationship.B. It’s a window to a whole new world.C. It’s a substitute for drinking with a friend.D. It extends the understanding of oneself.2. What do we know about the book A Moveable Feast?A. It’s a brief account of a trip.B. It’s about Hemingway’s life as a young man.C. It’s a record of a historic event.D. It’s about Hemingway’s friends in Paris.3. What does the underlined word “currency” in paragraph 4 refer to?A. Debt.B. Reward.C. Allowance.D. Face value.4. What can we infer about the author from the text?A. He loves poetry.B. He’s an editor.C. He’s very ambitious.D. He teaches reading.Passage 2 2020全国卷II DDI have a special place in my heart for libraries. I have for as long as I can remember. I was always an enthusiastic reader, sometimes reading up to three books a day as a child. Stories were like air to me and while other kids played ball or went to parties, I lived out adventures through the books I checked out from the library. My first job was working at the Ukiah Library when I was 16 years old .It was a dream job and I did everything from shelving books to reading to the children for story time.As I grew older and became a mother, the library took on a new place and an added meaning in my life. I had several children and books were our main source(来源) of entertainment. It was a big deal for us to load up and go to the local library, where my kids could pick out books to read or books they wanted me to read to them.I always read ,using different voices ,as though I were acting out the stories with my voice and they loved it !It was a special time to bond with my children and it filled them with the wonderment of books .Now, I see my children taking their children to the library and I love that the excitement of going to the library lives on form generation to generation. As a novelist, I’ve found a new relationship with libraries. I encourage readers to go to their local library when they can’t afford to purchase a book. I see libraries as a safe haven(避风港) for readers and writers, a bridge that helps put together a reader with a book. Libraries, in their own way, help fight book piracy(盗版行为) and 1 think all writers should support libraries in a significant way when they can. Encourage readers to use the library. That willpower bore fruit when Jennifer graduated from University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and became the first in her large family to earn a bachelor's degree.Mauer, of Edgar, Wisconsin, grew up on a farm in a family of 10 children. Her dad worked at a job away from the farm, and her mother ran the farm with the kids. I have never known an outstanding man who lacked either. And I have never known an average man who had both. The two belong together.Together, these deep human urges(驱策力)count for much more than ambition. Galileo was not merely ambitious when he dropped objects of varying weights from the Leaning Tower at Pisa and timed their fall to the ground. Like Galileo, all the great names in history were curious and asked in discontent, "Why? Why? Why?"Fortunately, curiosity and discontent don’t have to be learned. We are born with them and need only recapture them."The great man," said Mencius(孟子), "is he who does not lose his child’s heart. "Yet most of us do lose it. We stop asking questions. We stop challenging custom. We just follow the crowd. And the crowd desires only the calm and restful average. It encourages us to occupy our own little corner, to avoid foolish leaps into the dark, to be satisfied. Most of us meet new people, and new ideas, with hesitation. But once having met and liked them, we think how terrible it would have been, had we missed the chance. We will probably have to force ourselves to waken our curiosity and discontent and keep them awake. How should you start? Modestly, so as not to become discouraged. I think of one friend who couldn’t arrange flowers to satisfy herself. She was curious about how the experts did it. How she is one of the experts, writing books on flower arrangement. One way to begin is to answer your own excuses. You haven’t any special ability? Most people don’t; there are only a few geniuses. You haven’t any time? That’s good, because it’s always the people with no time who get things done. Harriet Stowe, mother of six, wrote parts of Uncle Tom’s Cabin while cooking. You’re too old? Remember that Thomas Costain was 57 when he published his first novel, and that Grandma Moses showed her first pictures when she was 78.However you start, remember there is no better time to start than right now, for you’ll never be more alive than you are at this moment.1. In writing Paragraph 1, the author aims to ________.A. propose a definitionB. make a comparisonC. reach a conclusionD. present an argument2. What does the example of Galileo tell us?A. Trial and error leads to the finding of truth.B. Scientists tend to be curious and ambitious.C. Creativity results from challenging authority.D. Greatness comes from a lasting desire to explore.3. What can you do to recapture curiosity and discontent?A. Observe the unknown around you.B. Develop a questioning mind.C. Lead a life of adventure.D. Follow the fashion.4. What can we learn from Paragraphs 6 and 7?A. Gaining success helps you become an expert.B. The genius tends to get things done creatively.C. Lack of talent and time is no reason for taking no action.D. You should remain modest when approaching perfection.55. What could be the best title or the passage?A. Curious Minds Never Feel ContentedB. Reflections on Human NatureC. The Keys to AchievementD. Never Too Late to Learn题组三Passage 1 2019 全国卷I BBFor Canaan Elementary’s second grade in Patchogue, N.Y.,today is speech day, and right now it’s Chris Palaez’s turn. The 8-year-old is the joker of the class. With shining dark eyes, he seems like the of kid who would enjoy public speaking. But he’s, nervous.“I’m here to tell you today why you should … should…”Chris trips on the“-ld,”a. pronunciation difficulty for many non-native English speakers. His teacher, Thomas Whaley, is next to him, whispering support.“…V ote for …me …”Except for some stumbles, Chris is doing amazingly well. When he brings his speech to a nice conclusion, Whaley invites the rest of the class to praise him.A son of immigrants, Chris stared learning English a little over three years ago. Whaley recalls(回想起)how at the beginning of the year, when called upon to read,Chris would excuse himself to go to the bathroom.Learning English as a second language can be a painful experience. What you need is a great teacher who lets you make mistakes. “It takes a lot for any student,” Whaley explains,“especially for a student who is learning English as their new language,to feel confident enough to say,‘I don’t know, but I want to know.’”Whaley got the idea of this second-grade presidential campaign project when he asked the children one day to raise their hands if they thought they could never be a president. The answer broke his heart. Whaley says the project is about more than just learning to read and speak in public. He wants these kids to learn to boast(夸耀)about themselves.“Boasting about yourself, and your best qualities,” Whaley says,“is very difficult for a child who came into the classroom not feeling confident.”24. Which of the following best describes Whaley as a teacher?A. Humorous.B. Ambitious.C. Caring.D. Demanding.Passage2 2019 天津卷BBI must have always known reading was very important because the first memories I have as a child deal with books. There was not one night that I don’t remember mom reading me a storybook by my bedside. I was extremely inspired by the elegant way the words sounded.I always wanted to know what my mom was reading. Hearing mom say, "I can’t believe what’s printed in the newspaper this morning," made me want to grab it out of her hands and read it myself. I wanted to be like my mom and know all of the things she knew. So I carried around a book, and each night, just to be like her, I would pretend to be reading. This is how everyone learned to read. We would start off with sentences, then paragraphs, and then stories. It seemed an unending journey, but even as a six-year-old girl I realized that knowing how to read could open many doors. When mom said," The C-A-N-D-Y is hidden on the top shelf," I knew where the candy was. My progress in reading raised my curiosity, and I wanted to know everything. I often found myself telling my mom to drive more slowly, so that I could read all of the road signs we passed. Most of my reading through primary, middle and high school was factual reading. I read for knowledge, and to make A’s on my tests. Occasionally, I would read a novel that was assigned, but I didn’t enjoy this type of reading. I liked facts, things that are concrete. I thought anything abstract left too much room for argument.Yet, now that I’m growing and the world I once knew as being so simple is becoming more complex, I find myself needing a way to escape. By opening a novel, I can leave behind my burdens and enter into a wonderful and mysterious world where I am now a new character. In these worlds I can become anyone. I don’t have to write down what happened or what technique the author was using when he or she wrote this. I just read to relax. We’re taught to read because it’s necessary for much of human understanding. Reading is a vital part of my life. Reading satisfies my desire to keep learning. And I’ve found that the possibilities that lie within books are limitless.41. Why did the author want to grab the newspaper out of mom’s hands?A. She wanted mom to read the news to her.B. She was anxious to know what had happened.C. She couldn’t wait to tear the newspaper apart.D. She couldn’t help but stop mom from reading.42. According to Paragraph 3, the author’s reading of road signs indicates ___________.A. her unique way to locate herselfB. her eagerness to develop her reading abilityC. her effort to remind mom to obey traffic rulesD. her growing desire to know the world around her.43. What was the author’s view on factual reading?A. It would help her update test-taking skills.B. It would allow much room for free thinking.C. It would provide true and objective information.D. It would help shape a realistic and serious attitude to life.44. The author takes novel reading as a way to___________.A. explore a fantasy landB. develop a passion for leaningC. learn about the adult communityD. get away from a confusing world45. What could be the best title for the passage?A. The Magic of ReadingB. The Pleasure of ReadingC. Growing Up with ReadingD. Reading Makes a Full Man题组四Passage1 2018 全国卷III DDAdults understand what if feels like to be flooded with objects. Why do we often assume that more is more when it comes to kids and their belongings? The good news is that I can help my own kids learn earlier than I did how to live more with less.I found the pre-holidays a good time to encourage young children to donate less-used things, and it worked. Because of our efforts, our daughter Georgia did decide to donate a large bag of toys to a little girl whose mother was unable to pay for her holiday due to illness. She chose to sell a few large objects that were less often used when we promised to put the money into her school fund (基金) (our kindergarten is serious about becoming a doctor). For weeks, I’ve been thinking of bigger, deeper questions. How do we make it a habit for them? And how do we train ourselves to help them live with, need and use less? Yesterday, I sat with my son, Shepherd, determined to test my own theory on this. I decided to play with him with only one toy for as long as it would keep his interest. I expected that one toy would keep his attention for about five minutes, ten minutes max. I chose a red rubber ball-simple, universally available. We passed it, he tried to put it in his mouth, he tried bouncing it, rolling it, sitting on it, throwing it. It was totally, completely enough for him. Before I knew it an hour had passed and it was time to move on to lunch. We both became absorbed in the simplicity of playing together. He had my full attention andI had his. My little experiment to find joy in a single object worked for both of us.32. What do the words “more is more” in paragraph 1 probably mean?A. The more, the better.B. Enough is enough.C. More money, more worries.D. Earn more and spend more.33. What made Georgia agree to sell some of her objects?A. Saving up for her holiday.B. Raising money for a poor girl.C. Adding the money to her fund.D. Giving the money to a sick mother.34. Why did the author play the ball with Shepherd?A. To try out an idea.B. To show a parent’s love.C. To train his attention.D. To help him start a hobby,.35. What can be a suitable title for the text?A. Take it or Leave it.B. A Lesson from Kids.C. Live More with Less.D. The Pleasure of Giving.Passage2 2016 全国卷II BBFive years ago, when I taught art at a school in Seattle, I used Tinkertoys as a test at the beginning of a term to find out something about my students. I put a small set of Tinkertoys in front of each student, and said: “Make something out of the Tinkertoys. You have 45 minutes today — and 45 minutes each day for the rest of the week.”A few students hesitated to start. They waited to see what the rest of the class would do. Several others checked the instructions and made something according to one of the model plans provided. Another group built something out of their own imaginations.Once I had a boy who worked experimentally with Tinkertoys in his free time. His constructions filled a shelf in the art classroom and a good part of his bedroom at home. I was delighted at the presence of such a student. Here was an exceptionally creative mind at work. His presence meant that I had an unexpected teaching assistant in class whose creativity would infect (感染) other students.Encouraging this kind of thinking has a downside. I ran the risk of losing those students who had a different style of thinking. Without fail one would declare, “But I’m just not creative.”“Do you dream at night when you’re asleep?”“Oh, sure.”“So tell me one of your most interesting dreams.” The student would tell something wildly imaginative. Flying in the sky or in a time machine or growing three heads. “That’s pretty creative. Who does that for you?”“Nobody. I do it.”“Really — at night, when you’re asleep?”“Sure.”“Try doing it in the daytime, in class, okay?”25. The teacher used Tinkertoys in class in order to ________.A. know more about the studentsB. make the lessons more excitingC. raise the students’ interest in artD. teach the students about toy design26. What do we know about the boy mentioned in Paragraph 3?A. He liked to help his teacher.B. He preferred to study alone.C. He was active in class.D. He was imaginative.27. What does the underlined word “downside” in Paragraph 4 probably mean?A. Mistake.B. Drawback.C. Difficulty.D. Burden.28. Why did the teacher ask the students to talk about their dreams?A. To help them to see their creativity.B. To find out about their sleeping habits.C. To help them to improve their memory.D. To find out about their ways of thinking.。

L 任务型阅读L[2015·浙江卷]A.Come in with something to say.B.Prepare general comments.C.Bring materials with you.D.Don't make them wait.E.Have no fear.F.Go it alone. One of the best things you can do any time in the semester is go see the professor. So hoof on over to an office hour and have some oneonone face time with someone who'll help you master the material and improve your grade, to boot. But how should you have this conversation with the professor? Here are five insider tips about how to make that office hour really count:61. ________No need to get all bent out of shape about going to see the professor. The professor would actually like to see you and answer your questions. Believe it or not, he or she is on your side and is eager to see you do well. And besides, he or she has seen many students stupider than you, so nothing you're going to ask will set the record for stupidity.62. ________Even though you might feel more comfortable going with a friend or partner, the office hour will go better if it's just you and the professor. You'll get in more questions, the discussion will be tailored to what you need most help on, and two-party communication is almost always more productive than committee work. Your friend can wait outside for the discussion.63. ________ If you can't make the official office hours, most professors are willing to make individual appointments to help you out. If you're lucky enough to land such an accommodation, though, be sure you're 100 per cent on time. There's nothing that ticks off a professor more than making him- or herself available for a custom office hour only to find that you don't care enough to come on time. And besides, the professor might leave after ten minutes, which would make your trip a total loss.64. ________If you're meeting with the professor to go over a paper or test, or to ask questions about a particular lecture or reading, make sure you bring that paper or test, or your lecture notes or a copy of the article. The professor doesn't remember the comments he or she wrote on your individual piece of work—though he or she will be able to recall them after just a brief glance at your work. And if you have your lecture notes or the article in hand, you and the professor will be able to examine specific points that are confusing to you, rather than just talking in a general way about the contents.65. ________ Office hours almost always go better if you bring a few specific questions to the meeting. It's almost never good to start a meeting with general comments such as:“I didn't understand what you said about [main topic of the course]”or“I couldn't understand any of your lectures last week.”Much better is to come in with two or three conversation-starters about a specific concept, point, or problem you didn't understand. Keep in mind that in a fifteen-minute office hour(which is how long these things usually last), two or three questions are usually the most you'll have time to discuss.[解析]61. E根据第二段中的“No need to…so nothing you're going to ask will set the record for stupidity.”可知,该段告诉我们,不要怕见教授,故选E项.62. F 从该段中的“…the office hour will go better if it's just you and theprofessor…Your friend can wait outside for the discussion.”可知,该段主要讲述“如果可以的话,建议与教授单独相处,这样能够更好地沟通”,故选F项.63. D根据文中的“…be sure you're 100 per cent on time. There's nothing that…”可以推断,该段主要讲述与教授见面要准时,不要让教授等候,因为那是不礼貌的,故选D项.64. C 根据“…make sure you bring that paper or test, or your lecture…”可知,该段主要讲述与教授见面时要带好必要的材料,故选C项.65. A 根据文中的“…if you bring a few specific questions to the meeting. It's almost never good…”

L[2012·浙江卷]A.Slow Down Your LifeB.Escape Now and ThenC.Separate Your ActionsD.Allow Yourself to Be WeakE.Relieve Pressure by Firmly Saying “No”F.Stop Expecting Everything to Be PerfectHow to Simplify Your LifeLess is more. This is why we say: reduce things by half instead of doubling them, get rid of junk instead of piling it up, relax instead of stressing, slow down instead of speeding up. Apply these principles in your everyday life in a conscious way. You will then find yourself well along on your journey to simplification.61. ________When you concentrate on one task, you find you have energy that you didn't even know you had. Just imagine: you are at a fair and you have to carry two heavy pigs over 100 yards. If you keep grabbing one and then the other, it will take forever, because one of them will keep slipping out from under your arm and running off. But if you tie one pig in a place, pick up the other, gather all your strength and make a dash for the finish line, pause for a moment, run back and get the other one, and with great determination, carry the second pig to the finish line, then you can be sure of success.62. ________The pressure at work is on the increase in all occupations. In the modern nuclear family, the expectations that formerly would have been shared among all the relatives are now concentrated on the individual partner. If you have the feeling that 24 hours per day are not enough for all the things you need to do, then it's not because the day has too few hours, but because you have too many activities. A simple fact that overloaded people often tend to forget. The solution is equally simple: refuse to accept so many work assignments in your private life or your working life.63. ________“I can handle stress” is regarded as a positive statement in the world of work. People who can handle stress are given more and more to cope with—until one day they break.Pay careful attention to the signs that tell you that you are under more stress than you can cope with. These signals can come from various areas of life. You become ill, or your work efficiency decreases. If you have any of these symptoms, change your life goals and decrease your tolerance of stress. Say quite openly, “I can't manage that.”64. ________“If only I were slimmer, more beautiful, richer, more clever, then I would be happier.” This is a dream that makes a lot of people ill, depressed, and unhappy. Life has its flaws, defects, corners, and edges. Only those who accept this reality can lead a really full life.Of course there are activities in which errors are dangerous:driving a car, crossing the road. But life doesn't consist entirely of these things. In among them there is a lot of room for small and large mistakes.65. ________Successful people all have their own places where they can withdraw in order to work. Find out which places improve your creativity. For me it's the train. When I know that I'm going to be traveling for four hours without phone calls and people knocking on my door, I find my mind is free and I can read or write complex articles. There can be problems working on the train, of course: if the person sitting opposite you keeps talking away, or if train trips make you tired(some peoplefall asleep after a few miles).61-65CEDFB。

It is said that the test will enhance the examiner's consciousness of health, but on the contrary it will also be more likely to result in overanxiety.I5读写任务I5[2015·广东卷]On the first day of her work, Sally found that a class full of problems was waiting for her. Six teachers had quit before her. When she walked into the classroom, it was chaos:two boys were fighting in the far corner, yet the rest of the class seemed not to notice them; some girls were chatting and some were running about; paper, food packages and other garbage were littered around…Just when she was about to speak, a student rushed in and pushed her aside! He was twenty minutes late!Sally walked onto the platform, picked up a piece of chalk and wrote on the blackboard: “Rule 1: We are family!”All students stopped to look at her. And she continued with Rule 2, Rule 3… In the following weeks, Sally worked out 10 class rules and posted them on the walls of the classroom. She patiently explained all the rules to the students and required everyone to follow them.Surprisingly, Sally was not driven out like the former teachers; instead, she won respect from the students. Over the year, she witnessed gradual changes in the class. At the graduation ceremony, just as she expected, she was very proud to stand with a class of care, manners and confidence.[写作内容]1. Confronted with the misbehaviour of her new class, Sally emphasized the idea of “We are family”and afterwards worked out 10 rules to regulate the students' conduct. Amazingly, she earned respect from her students, all of whom later grew to be confident, considerate and well behaved. The most obvious problem with our class is lack of interaction of teamwork. Everyone is interested only in his or her own things, thus giving rise to inefficiency in their study and even putting a limit to the fulfilment of their potential. To address the issue, I would make it a rule that every Friday a project of a certain subject should be assigned by teachers and completed by every study group consisting of four students. The final presentation will be a result of group work. From where I stand, this rule will definitely exert a profound effect on students' academic performance. First and foremost, a harmonious but competitive interaction in a group will help with everyone's learning. Additionally, we can combine our skills and knowledge as well as motivate each other to achieve greater accomplishments. Last but not least, studying in groups, we can share our experience in solving problems more efficiently. It is for these reasons that I firmly believe that this rule will promote the learning atmosphere and our teamwork spirit. With continuous efforts, our class,a big family, will compose an extraordinarily harmonious symphony.。

L 任务型阅读
L[2015·浙江卷]
A.Come in with something to say.
B.Prepare general comments.
C.Bring materials with you.
D.Don't make them wait.
E.Have no fear.
F.Go it alone.
One of the best things you can do any time in the semester is go see the professor. So hoof on over to an office hour and have some oneonone face time with someone who'll help you master the material and improve your grade, to boot. But how should you have this conversation with the professor? Here are five insider tips about how to make that office hour really count:
61. ________No need to get all bent out of shape about going to see the professor. The professor would actually like to see you and answer your questions. Believe it or not, he or she is on your side and is eager to see you do well. And besides, he or she has seen many students stupider than you, so nothing you're going to ask will set the record for stupidity.
62. ________Even though you might feel more comfortable going with a friend or partner, the office hour will go better if it's just you and the professor. You'll get in more questions, the discussion will be tailored to what you need most help on, and two-party communication is almost always more productive than committee work. Your friend can wait outside for the discussion.
63. And besides, the professor might leave after ten minutes, which would make your trip a total loss.
64. And if you have your lecture notes or the article in hand, you and the professor will be able to examine specific points that are confusing to you, rather than just talking in a general way about the contents.
65. Keep in mind that in a fifteen-minute office hour(which is how long these things usually last), two or three questions are usually the most you'll have time to discuss.
[解析]
61. E根据第二段中的“No need to…so nothing you're going to ask will set the record for stupidity.”可知,该段告诉我们,不要怕见教授,故选E项。

62. F 从该段中的“…the office hour will go better if it's just you and the
professor…Your friend can wait outside for the discussion.”可知,该段主要讲述“如果可以的话,建议与教授单独相处,这样能够更好地沟通”,故选F项。

63. D根据文中的“…be sure you're 100 per cent on time. There's nothing that…”可以推断,该段主要讲述与教授见面要准时,不要让教授等候,因为那是不礼貌的,故选D项。

64. C 根据“…make sure you bring that paper or test, or your lecture…”可知,该段主要讲述与教授见面时要带好必要的材料,故选C项。

65. A 根据文中的“…if you bring a few specific questions to the meeting. It's almost never good…”可知,本段主要讲述与教授见面时要有话题可讲,故选A项。
