You might think of martial arts movies when you see people performing graceful moves down the river, all standing on a bamboo strip, but actually it is a form of intangible cultural heritage: bamboo drifting.
Over 2,000 years ago, the high-quality wood, nanmu, in Guizhou was in great demand by the royal court more than 2,000 kilometers to the north. With no better transportation, people had to stand on one log to drift down the river. Later, local people began to compete along the way and the game of wood drifting was born. In the Qing Dynasty, wood drifting became bamboo drifting because of bamboo’s lower price. Due to the skills it takes for one to master this act, bamboo drifting was included in the national intangible cultural heritage list this year.
Yang Liu, a 24-year-old inheritor of bamboo drifting, learned it at 7. “Usually, the bamboo under your feet is about 9 meters long, and the bamboo in your hands is about 5 meters. If the length or diameter of the bamboo is not long enough, it will not float. Keeping our feet firmly positioned on the narrow bamboo pole is the key, so we should fight against the current by constantly changing the angle. I lost my balance and fell in the water many times while practicing. Once I fell, I gave it another try until I knew how to handle the most difficult part.” she said.
The love for the ancient skill keeps Yang going. In the past 17 years, she has drifted all
year round, in winter cold and summer heat. As hanfu culture has been on the rise, Yang started wearing hanfu while performing, creating a more beautiful feel. In 2020, Yang began to post her videos on social media. “I'm extremely proud to get responses from viewers that bamboo drifting makes the line between what is possible and impossible unclear. It’s my mission to keep it alive and known to more people,” Yang Liu told China Daily.
24.What can be learned from the first two paragraphs?
A.The martial arts movie is a form of cultural heritage.
B.Nanmu was delivered to the north by land.
C.Bamboo was costly in Guizhou 2,000 years ago.
D.Bamboo drifting involves lots of skills.
25.What is the biggest challenge in bamboo drifting?
A.Finding the proper bamboo.B.Holding the bamboo firmly in hands. C.Maintaining a fixed angle.D.Keeping balance.
26.What do the viewers think of bamboo drifting?
A.Unbelievable.B.Impossible.C.Confusing.D.Complicated. 27.Which of the following is a suitable title for the text?
A.Transporting Bamboo down the River.B.Intangible Cultural Heritage in Guizhou. C.Balancing with Grace.D.Yang Liu: a Creative Performer.

In 1665, Johannes Vermeer put the last drop of paint onto a canvas and completed his masterpiece “Girl With a Pearl Earring”. But years later on an April day a cyclist named Janine Strong stopped her bike and watched unexpectedly in her fitness app as the snaking line of her cycling route drew the shape of V ermeer’s masterpiece over streets.
Ms. Strong creates what has come to be known as “GPS art”. It is an art category, which means you go outside with your handheld Global Positioning System(GPS) and start moving. The GPS records your movement by creating the dots type of track. This track is a line that details the path you’ve travelled. When you look at this line on the map, then you can see various shapes. Ms. Strong plans her rides in the shapes of stars, birds, lions-and the occasional Vermeer. Then to complete the digital vision of Vermeer’s masterpiece, she biked almost 50 miles around a city to make sure each turn and circle was accurately achieving the covering of Vermeer’s original.
This kind of art form has grown with the widespread availability of satellite tracking for
use by ordinary people in fitness apps. It is particularly popular in the app. Strava, and experienced a surge in use during the pandemic. According to a report, more than three billion activities have been uploaded to Strava since the beginning of 2020.
The “GPS art” can be considered the 21st-century version of large-scale drawings on the landscape, a concept gradually known for the world. It even has its own Guinness World Records categories. There was once a couple who completed a 4, 500-mile bike ride across Europe that resulted in a 600-mile-wide GPS drawing of a bicycle-the largest such drawing on record.
28.What is “GPS art” based on paragraph 2?
A.It is a system established by Janine Strong.
B.It is a line recording the path you travelled.
C.It is an art form realized by GPS tracking.
D.It is an application software creating pictures.
29.How did Janine Strong finish her digital vision of Vermeer’s masterpiece?
A.By painting casually on his canvas.
B.By accidentally using his fitness app.
C.By occasionally running around the city.
D.By carefully planning and cycling around.
30.what does the underlined phrase “a surge” probably mean in paragraph 3?
A.A sudden rise.
B.A great success.
C.A sharp reduction.
D.A severe downturn.
31.What can we learn from this passage?
A.“GPS art” can be only completed on Strava.
B.Strava is in fact an app for people to draw pictures.
C.The art form of “GPS art” is getting known worldwide.
D.Janine Strong created the largest drawing in the world.
D
Parents have long been subject to the opinions of others, some of which include judgments about the number of toys they should provide for their children. Some suggest more toys show children they are more loved, while others argue more toys is overkill and a
poor substitute for parental attention. Do our kids really need so many toys?
A US research team at the University of Toledo has conducted a simple experiment to test creativity in kids playing with toys. In the experiment, parents were asked to bring kids to
a play area where the little ones were given either four toys or 16 toys to play alone with for
30 minutes. Each of the 36 kids who participated was observed by the researchers who were in search for activities that could be counted as creative.
The researchers found that the kids playing with four toys engaged in more creative activities than the kids who had 16 toys to choose from. They also found, unsurprisingly, that kids with fewer choices tended to play with each of the toys available to them for a longer amount of time. Much of that additional time was taken up with finding new ways to play with them.
The researchers are not suggesting that children should have fewer toys overall-instead, they are suggesting that children show more creativity if they only have the choice of playing with just a few of them at a time. They believe parents should keep most of their children’s toys locked away while their kids play with a small part at any given time. Lots of toys may curb kids’ creativity and focus, making it more difficult to get the most out of any one
toy-fewer toys nudge (推动) them towards resourcefulness.
32.How did the researchers conduct the experiment?
A.By organizing a parent-child activity.
B.By referring to previous data.
C.By observing subjects’ behavior.
D.By interviewing many parents.
33.What did the researchers find from the experiment?
A.Children with fewer toys were more likely to feel alone.
B.Children were more creative while playing with fewer toys.
C.Children enjoyed spending much of their time finding toys.
D.Children with more toys focused on each one for a longer time.
34.What do the researchers suggest parents do about toys?
A.Keep less than four toys at home.
B.Play toys together with their kids.
C.Do not buy more toys for their kids.
D.Give their kids fewer toys each time.
35.What does the underlined word “curb” in the last paragraph probably mean? A.Inspire.
B.Limit.
C.Bring.
D.End.

67.阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。

I had been acting in school for a few years. When I got a rough role in a play, I, only a
junior in my high school, was excited that my inspiring drama teacher and director had
trusted me with the part.
We had little time to prepare and I would never forget reading the lines for the first time.
At first the dialogue was lively, but then it became quite long and boring. To my surprise, my character had one disrespectful line that complained about his bad luck. I had never said
something like that on stage before. Uncomfortable as I felt about it, I had never thought of
making myself heard to make a change. I was weak, went silent, and accepted the line as it
was.
At our first rehearsal (彩排), I whispered, the line and hoped with so many distractions
on stage that the director wouldn’t notice. Luckily, she didn’t. Over three wild weeks of
rehearsals, I convinced myself that I could keep faking it. Then, when the curtain finally rose
with an audience, maybe I would feel fine about saying the line just once as loudly as I could.
On the night of the open dress rehearsal, I was nervous to see an old couple, the Ehlers,
seated in the hall. They were close friends of our family and I had no idea they would be there.
When the big moment arrived, with nervousness racing through my body, I went for it. I
remember the moment quite clearly. Where I stood. How it sounded. How I felt.
After the show, the Ehlers met me with cheers, a warm hug, and some brief dialogue of
their own. While talking with them, I was overwhelmed by mixed feelings of regret and
shame.
注意: 1. 续写词数应为150左右;
2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。

“Jason, that was quite some language. You surprised us,” Mrs. Ehlers looked at me.
I said goodbye to the couple and waited in the drama room until our director appeared.

Schools in 50 years
50 years later, the school uses robots to teach students, and students sit in a transparent classroom on all sides to learn. Besides, students’ performance in class and learning feedback are all conducted by AI equipment. The construction of the school is no longer what it is now. The school 50 years later is very intelligent, and students’ needs can be met in an instant. The school has only a few technicians and teachers who manage machinery and equipment, so it is so convenient.
Imagine traveling through time and space to the future school 50 years later. It will be a fast and convenient school linked by the Internet. I will be shocked by all modern devices and intelligent functions. It’s great to feel the learning efficiency brought by the infinite power of modern science and technology, feel the friendship between classmates, and carefully taste the magic of knowledge.
87.
“Jason, that was quite some language. You surprised us,” Mrs. Ehlers looked at me. I told Mrs. Ehlers frankly that I had been unwilling to say it. Mrs. Ehlers patted me on the shoulder consolingly, suggesting that I should have told the director to change it. I nodded my head, but still doubted whether the director would let me. Mrs. Ehlers seemed to have read my mind and said with a soft smile, “Whatever you get is a gain. We have to stand up and give it a try sometimes, don't we?”
I said goodbye to the couple and waited in the drama room until our director appeared. With my heart racing, I stood near her desk and casually asked if I might possibly change the disrespectful line in the play to a more decent one. She sank into silence for a moment and replied, “Your replacement is indeed more appropriate. Thank you!” Agreeably surprised by her response, I left with a mixture of gratitude, humility, respect and shame. From that moment on, I felt increasingly confident and proud to share my views with others.
