Good morning, everyone. I am river, and my student number is 13090517. My topic today is the importance of keeping one’s promise and how I will teach this important lesson to my future students
In the film—here comes the boom, the character of Mr.Voss leaves me a deep impression. The school made a decision that the music program should be cut because of the budget deficit, as a result, the music teacher Marty will lose his job. Mr.Voss promised to raise money for music program, but it was just like an impossible assignment. He had no choice but to fight mixed martial arts, which sounds like a deal between life and money for a 42 year-old biology teacher. He was beaten up in the cruel games, but he never say die. When he got the news that it was the school master who took all of the money, he still finished the final game because he wanted to keep his promise and took responsibility for his students. In fact, he made it. What an important life lesson he taught his students! If he failed to keep his word, he wouldn’t get trust and respect from his students. What’s more, they wouldn’t be inspired so deeply inside.
And may be I will be a teacher one day. That is the first thing I will teach my students, keep your word. In the school,
if you fail to fulfill your promise, you will make a bad impression on your classmates. Next time, they will have the reason for not trusting you and you may lose your friendship. When you enter the society, even if you go back your word for only one time, you may lose a partner forever. There will be a blot on you for a long time and you will miss many opportunities. Don’t promise sb sth hastily, if you can not keep a pledge. Then how should I teach my students such an important lesson? A famous Chinese philosopher, zhuangzi , once said, personal example is better than verbal instruction.
I can’t agree more. Therefore, I will take each of my word seriously and be responsible for my students. If I require them to take my class on time, I will never be late. If I work out regulations concerning rewards and punishments, I will carry them out seriously. Trust and respect are something that need accumulating gradually. Teachers are exerting an invisible, formative influence on students every day. I will try my best to set a good example for my students, I hope that they can learn the importance of keeping their promise from me and make that be a habit of themselves.
That’s all. Thank you.。
