My Awesome English Class with Teacher Wu
Hi there! I'm so excited to tell you all about my favorite class - English with Teacher Wu! We just finished the fifth module and I learned soooo many awesome new words. English is my favorite subject now!
The first unit in module 5 was about sports and games. We learned words like "basketball", "tennis", "gymnastics", and "martial arts". I didn't know the word for karate before - how cool is that?! Teacher Wu had us go around the room and say our favorite sport. I said basketball because I'm pretty tall for my age and love shooting hoops at the park.
Then we moved on to clothes and accessories. That one was kind of tricky because there are a lot of different words for shirts, pants, dresses, and more. But Teacher Wu made it fun by having us all draw pictures of outfit ideas and then present them to the class using the new vocabulary words. I drew myself wearing a
"jacket", "jeans", "sneakers", and a "baseball cap". Maybe I'll be a fashion designer when I grow up!
Next up was nature and the environment. I remember "forest", "desert", "ocean", "pollution", and "recycle" from that unit. We even did an experiment where we collected recyclable materials around the school and sorted them into plastic, paper, and metal bins. Teacher Wu said taking care of our planet is super important. I'm going to make sure I always recycle from now on!
The fourth unit was all about jobs and occupations. There were so many I had never heard of before like "architect", "mechanic", "chef", and "scientist". For our activity, we had to go around and interview our classmates about what jobs their parents have. It was really interesting to learn about all the different careers. My buddy Timmy's dad is a "firefighter" - how cool is that?!
The final unit was my favorite though - travel and transportation! We got to learn fun words like "airplane", "train", "cruise ship", "highway", and "passport". Teacher Wu even brought in some tiny models of different vehicles for us to look at up close. My favorite was definitely the bullet train model - I'd love to ride on one of those super fast trains someday! For our
big activity, we had to plan out our dream vacations using as many of the new transportation words as we could. I chose to go to Hawaii by airplane, ride a cruise ship around the islands, and take a helicopter tour over the forests and oceans. Doesn't that sound amazing?!
Overall, module 5 was a total blast! Teacher Wu makes English so much fun with all her songs, games, and activities. I used to be kind of nervous speaking a new language, but now I feel way more confident. I really impressed my parents when I told them all about the pollution and recycling unit entirely in English! They were like "Wow, our kid is becoming so smart!"
I can't wait to see what awesome vocabulary we learn in the next module. English is quickly becoming one of my best subjects, all thanks to the amazing Teacher Wu. Hopefully someday I'll be such a great English speaker that I can travel all around the world! A big thank you to my incredible teacher - you rock!

Module 5 Vocabulary - An Adventure with Words!
Hi there! My name is Lily and I'm a 4th grader at Sunshine Elementary School. Today, I want to tell you all about the
awesome new vocabulary words we learned in Module 5 of our English textbook. Get ready for an exciting word adventure!
Our journey began with the word "amateur". Mrs. Wu explained that an amateur is someone who does an activity for fun and not as a job. My friend Tommy is an amateur magician - he loves practicing cool tricks even though he doesn't get paid for it. I'm an amateur artist myself and enjoy doodling cartoons during recess.
Next up was "announce". To announce means to tell people about something in an official way. The principal announced over the loudspeaker that the science fair was postponed due to the rainy weather. When I got an A+ on my spelling test, I proudly announced it to my parents!
The word "appreciate" was a tricky one at first. It means to value something and be grateful for it. I really appreciate my mom packing my favorite snacks for lunch every day. And I'm sure all teachers appreciate when students follow the classroom rules and work hard.
Then we learned "atmosphere". This refers to the air and environment around us. On a sunny spring day, the atmosphere feels so fresh and energizing. But when there's a thunderstorm, the atmosphere gets dark and gloomy. My grandparents told me
the atmosphere in the city has gotten much cleaner since they were kids.
Ooh, how could I forget "awkward"? Something awkward is embarrasing or uncomfortable. Tripping in front of your crush - definitely awkward! Getting caught picking your nose is pretty awkward too. Sometimes I feel awkward around new people until I get to know them better.
We had a fun time acting out the word "cooperate", which means working together. Mrs. Wu put us into groups and gave us challenging puzzles to solve. We had to cooperate by listening to each other's ideas and dividing up the tasks. My group cooperated great and finished first!
"Decision" was an important word for growing kids like us. It means making a choice between different options. My biggest decision this week was whether to eat broccoli or carrots with my dinner. Though carrots are my favorite, I made the wise decision to eat broccoli for extra vitamins and minerals.
I'll never forget when we learned "environment". It refers to the surroundings that affect how plants, animals and people live. At school, we try to take care of our environment by recycling, conserving water and keeping our campus clean. Protecting the
natural environment is so vital for all the cool critters I love, like koalas and sea turtles.
Ah yes, "honor" - a word that makes me feel proud and noble! It means to respect someone or something very much. I honor my parents for working so hard to provide for our family. We should all honor our teachers by being good students. And every year on Memorial Day, we honor the brave soldiers who fought for our country.
Last but not least, we discovered the word "invention". This is a new product or idea that someone creates. Can you believe the ice cream cone was invented right here in the United States over 100 years ago? What an amazing invention for cooling off on a hot summer day! I'm already dreaming up my own cool inventions, like a backpack that walks by itself to school. A girl can dream, right?
Phew, that was one action-packed module! I hope you had as much fun learning these vocabulary words as I did. Words truly open up new worlds of knowledge and imagination. I can't wait to dive into Module 6 and continue expanding my brilliant brain. Thanks for joining me on this wordy adventure!

English Vocabulary Module 5 with Mrs. Wu
Hi there! My name is Lily and I'm a 4th grader at Sunshine Elementary School. Today I want to tell you all about the latest English vocabulary module we covered in Mrs. Wu's class. It was Module 5 and boy was it filled with some really interesting and useful words!
The first unit in the module was on food and drinks. We learned words like "apple", "banana", "orange", "milk", "juice", and "water". Mrs. Wu had us practice these by bringing in real fruits and having us identify them. She also brought different drinks and we got to taste things like apple juice and chocolate milk. Yum! To help us remember, she had us draw pictures of the different foods and drinks. My banana drawing looked more like a yellow sausage, but Mrs. Wu said it was a great effort.
Next up was a unit on animals. This was my favorite part because I absolutely

My English Vocabulary Journey with Teacher Wu
Hi everyone! My name is Xiaoming and I'm a 4th grader at Sunshine Elementary School. Today I want to share with you all
about the awesome vocabulary modules we learned this semester in my English class with Teacher Wu. Get ready, because this is going to be an epic adventure through the world of words

My Vocabulary Journey with Teacher Wu
Module 5 was definitely my favorite vocabulary module this year in 4th grade! Teacher Wu made learning all the new words so much fun. She always finds creative ways to help the words stick in our brains.
It all started when Teacher Wu brought in a bunch of random objects for our first Module 5 class. There was a yellow raincoat, a small potted plant, a tennis ball, and other weird things. We had to go around the room guessing what each object was called in English. If we got it right, Teacher Wu would act out the meaning to reinforce the word. For example, when I correctly said "raincoat", she mimed putting on the yellow jacket and pretended to be walking in the rain. It was hilarious but it really worked to lock the vocabulary into my memory!
After that engaging intro activity, we dove into the first set of Module 5 vocabulary words. There were some challenging
ones like "moisture", "preventing", and "horizontal". Teacher Wu didn't just have us memorize the definitions though. For each word, we had to use total physical response to act it out. So for "moisture", we pretended to wipe sweat off our brows. For "preventing", we would hold out our hands in a stopping motion. And for "horizontal", we had to lie down on the ground! Getting up and moving around really helped cement those abstract words.
My favorite way Teacher Wu reinforced the vocabulary was through the story episodes she told us. She's so creative and animated when she speaks, it's like the words spring to life! The stories followed a brother and sister as they went on different adventures that allowed for using the Module 5 words in context. One episode was about them trying to grow plants for a science fair, so we learned words like "cultivation", "crops", and "harvest". Another story was about the boy wanting to take up boxing, which introduced "opponent", "defensive", and "strategy". I looked forward to each new chapter!
In addition to acting, stories, and hands-on activities, we also played lots of vocabulary games. One game was called "Zap!" We tossed a rubber handball around the room, and whoever caught it had to either give the definition of a word called out by
Teacher Wu or use it in a sentence. If you couldn't, you got zapped and had to sit down. It was so intense but really motivated us to know those words backwards and forwards!
Another awesome game was Module 5 Hot Potato, where we passed around an actual potato (weird, I know!) while music played. When the music stopped, the person holding the potato had to pull a word from the pile and give an example sentence using it correctly. If they couldn't, they got a letter added to spell "POTATO". First person to spell the whole word was out. Games like these meant our Module 5 vocab practice never got boring.
Looking back, I can't believe how many new words I learned in Module 5 alone! "Landscape", "rural", "abandon", "domestic", "descend"...the list goes on and on. I'm so proud of myself for working hard on all of Teacher Wu's engaging activities and games. She made a challenging module feel like a fun adventure.
I've realized that having a strong vocabulary is like unlocking a secret code that gives you power over language. I used to think words in English were just words. But now I understand that every single one is a key that opens a door into deeper communication, better self-expression, and new ideas. The right words can bring stories and concepts to life in brilliant ways.
That's why I'm so grateful to have had Teacher Wu guiding me along my vocabulary journey this year. She's helped equip me with a toolbox of words that I'll be able to use for many years to come, no matter where life takes me. I'm excited to continue building my word power so I can read more challenging books, write more sophisticated stories, clearly express myself, and who knows...maybe even become an author someday!
Thank you, Teacher Wu, for making learning vocabulary a total blast. You've helped instill a love of words in me that will last forever. I'll never take English words for granted again now that I know their magic! On to the next module...I'm ready!

My English Class with Teacher Wu
Hi there! My name is Xiaoming and I'm a 4th grade student. I want to tell you all about the English class I take with Teacher Wu. She is super nice and always makes learning fun. This semester, we covered 5 really cool vocabulary modules in our textbook. Let me tell you about each one!
Module 1: Amazing Animals
The first module was all about amazing animals from around the world. We learned the names of tons of different creatures in English like elephants, kangaroos, penguins and pandas. My favorite animal word we learned was "hippopotamus" - that's just a fun one to say! Teacher Wu had us do fun activities like making animal masks out of paper bags and then walking around pretending to be that animal making its sounds. We also read some neat stories and did a project drawing our favorite animals and writing sentences describing them. It was a great way to start off the new semester!
Module 2: Tasty Treats
Next up was the "Tasty Treats" module, which was all about yummy foods. I definitely liked this one because, well, who doesn't love talking about good food? We learned words for all sorts of fruits, vegetables, snacks, and meals in English. I remembermastering how to say "strawberries", "ice cream", and "pizza" (my favorites!). One really enjoyable class was when Teacher Wu brought in samples of different foods from around the world for us to try. The salty dried plums from China were interesting but a little too sour for me. I much preferred the sweet coconut candies from Thailand!
Module 3: Activities Galore
The third module focused on different activities that people do for work, school, or just for fun. This one was jam-packed with great vocab words like "reading", "hiking", "dancing", "swimming", and a ton more. Something I thought was really cool was learning the specific terms for some sports and hobbies in English like "martial arts", "calligraphy", and "photography". We did skits acting out different activities during class, which helped cement the words in my brain. I'll never forget my teammate Jianji's hilarious impression of somebody "skiing" across the classroom!
Module 4: Fun with Festivals
Personally, I loved the fourth module which taught us loads of vocabulary for celebrating holidays and festivals. We discovered terms like "fireworks", "lantern", "costume", "cards", and "bake" that relate to different celebrations. Teacher Wu had us learn about major festivals from the US, UK, China and beyond.
I found it fascinating to compare things like how Americans celebrate Thanksgiving versus how the Mid-Autumn Festival is celebrated in China. For our final module project, we even got to plan our own fantasy festival and present the activities and foods to the class. My group's "Superhero Festival" may have been a bit too ambitious (unless Batman and Iron Man actually show up)!
Module 5: Around Town
The fifth and last module took us on a journey through our local neighborhood. We picked up words for the buildings, shops, services and transportation you'd find around town. From "hospital" and "bank" to "bus stop" and "bike lane", we learned how to identify and discuss the different sections that make up a community. Teacher Wu even took us on a walk through the streets nearby our school to reinforce the vocabulary with some real-life examples. One amusing highlight was watching Dingding confidently pointing at a construction site and boldly declaring "That's a swimming pool!" Don't worry, we all had a good laugh and helped him out!
So there you have it - the 5 awesome vocabulary modules we conquered this semester with the amazing Teacher Wu. Even though there was a lot of new English to take in, the activities and games made it all stick in our brains way better than just reading from the book. I'm really thankful I have such a fun teacher who brings so much energy and creativity into learning. She's set me up with a super strong vocabulary foundation that will help me keep improving my English skills. I can't wait to see what new modules we'll dive into next semester! Maybe something about space aliens? That would be way cool.。
