minute 还可以用second, moment, time等词替换。

all the time (在该段时间内)一直;向来,一向;时时刻刻;每时每刻
e.g. I do this all the time.我一直是这么做的。

This happe ns all the time.这种情况是时时发生的。

2. I ' m just asdtias you are!
as ... as意为和.... 一样”,表示同级的比较。

使用时要注意第一个as为副词,
第二个as为连词。

其基本结构为:as + adj./adv. + as
e.g. This film is as interesting as that one.这部电影和那部电影一样有趣。

Your pen writes as smoothly as mi ne.你的钢笔书写起来和我的一样流畅。

as …as的否定形式为“noa s/so + adj./adv. + as。


e.g. He didn ' t act as well as他表现得不如你好。

3. For one week, she did not do any housework, and n either did I.
n either用作副词,作也不”解释,放在句首,表示前面否定的内容也适用于另一个人或物,句子须采用部分倒装。

此时也可用nor替换neither使用。

例如:—I don 'like this dress.我不喜欢这件连衣裙。

—Neither / Nor do I.我也不喜欢。

注意:neither之后的主语要置于助动词或系动词之后。

neither用作代词,表示两者都不,双方均不”。

例如:
He an swered n either of the letters 他两圭寸信都没回。

—Which one would you like?你喜欢哪一个?
—Neither.两个都不喜欢。

also, too, either, n either 的用法
一、also是比较正式的用语,语气较庄重。

它通常放在句中,位于行为动词之前,连系动词之后;如有助动词或情态动词,一般放在助动词或情态动词之后。

例如:Peter also has two brothers彼得也有两个兄弟。

I am also a stude nt.我也是一名学生。

Mrs. Green can also sing the so ng in Chi nese.格林夫人也能用汉语唱这首歌。

二、too是普通用词,多用于口语,语气较随便。

一般用在肯定句中,放在句末。

例如:
I ' m in Row 1, toe我也在第一排。

注意:also和too 一般都用于肯定句,很少用于否定句。

三、either表示也”时,一般只用于否定句,且置于句末。

例如:
I don ' t know him. Tom doesn ' t know him, either.
我不认识他,汤姆也不认识他。

If you don ' t go there, he won ' t go there, either.
如果你不去那儿,他也不会去那儿。

注意:either本身没有否定的意义。

所以多与not连用。

四、neither表示两个都不”,它作主语时,谓语动词常用单数。

例如:
Neither of you can do it .你们两个都不能做这件事。

Step 3 Grammar
Could you (please + V-原形?表示委婉地提出请求
1. Could you please clea n your room?
Yes, sure. / Of course./ Certa inly./All right.
2. Could you please do the dishes?
Sorry, I can ' t. I have to do my homework.
在表示请求帮助或请求允许的疑问句中,常用could代替can,以表示礼貌,委
婉或不确定的语气,而can则不具备这些语气。

这种情况下不能把could看作can 的过去式。

以上两句中用could是为了表示礼貌的请求。

表示请求帮助或请求允许时,除了can, could 之外,还可以用may,句子的表达方式也各有不同,可以用不同的方式来表示同一个概念。

例:
①Could/Can/May I use your car for a day?
②I wonder if I could use your car for a day?
对于①、②句所作允答可以各种各样,如同意可以说Yes或Sure或Certainly,
还可说Yes, (do) please.或Of course. (you may/can).或Go ahead, please.或That' s
OK/all right如果不同意,可以说I ' m sorry you can 或''.m really sorry, but I have to use it today.要避免说No, you can '这样显得很不礼貌。

否定回答通常用委婉语气。

③Do you mind if I use your car for a day?
对于句③所作回答可以说Never mi nd. /Not at all.表不介意”不能用Yes. /Sure.
/Of course. /Certainly.等。

无论肯定还是否定应答中,要避免使用could,要用can 或may。

因为应答须用确定的语气。

而could在表请求的问句中是为了表示礼貌或委婉语气,用在应答中则成了不确定语气,与情理不符。

所以应答中不说Yes,
you could.或No, you couldn 而要说Yes, you can.或Sorry. /No, you can ' t.
—Could I please use your computer?
—Sorry, I ' m going to work on it now.
—Well, could I watch TV?
—Yes, you can.
Could I/you please…?表示一种有礼貌的请求或提议,其后连接原形动词,比
Can you /I…语气更委婉。

类似句型有:
Would you like + sth. / to do sth.?
May I + do sth.?
Shall we + do sth.?
Would you mind + sth. /doing sth.?
What / How about + sth. /doi ng sth.?
肯定回答有Sure. /Of course. / Certainly. /OK. /Great. / Well. / Good idea. / I agree.
等。

否定回答有Sorry…/ No, you can 等。

Note:
borrow 和lend
borrow和lend都有借”的意思,但它们的含义和用法有所不同。

★borrow表示借入”,即把本来不属于自己的东西借来暂时使用,常与介词from
连用。

如:
You can borrow a book from the library.
★lend表示借出”即把属于自己的东西借给别人暂时使用,常与介词to连用,
也可以跟双宾语。

如:
He' s going to lend his bike to Tom.
You mustn ' t lend others my pen.

provide作动词,意为“提供;供应”。

provide sb. with sth.或provide sth. for
sb意为为某人提供某物”。

如:
The movie theater provides us with good service.
His school provided a house for him.
汉译英。

他们提供给他钱和衣服。

They provided him with money and clothes.
They provided money and clothes for him.

anyway是一个副词,若位于句首,其后往往会有逗号将其与句子的其他内

3. ill & sick
♦相同点
ill与sick都可以表示生病的”都可作表语。

如:
Alice was ill / sick yesterday.
♦不同点
表示生病”时,sick可作定语,但ill通常不作定语。

如:
Could you help the sick girl?
【运用】根据句意,用ill或sick填空。

“the比较级+ .... , the+比较级+ ....... ”是英语中一个常用的句型结构,表示
越……,就越……”。

如:

1. 信头:发信人地址和日期。

这部分中有时可省去发信人地址,但一般要写日期。

放在信纸的右上方。

2. 称呼:对收信人的尊称最普通的是Dear,但与Mr, Mrs, Miss等不同的是:Dear后一般用名字,而Mr, Mrs, Miss后不能单独用名字,而只能是姓或姓与名,比如:对John Smith 的称呼,应该是Mr Smith,Mr John Smith 或Dear John称呼后面可用逗号或者冒号。

4. 结尾:发信人对收信人的谦称或敬语。

放在信的右下方。

这部分要特别注意英语习惯,不可根据汉语意思写上诸如此致敬礼”
祝您健康”之类的中国式的结尾语。

常用的英语书信结尾语如下:
写给同龄人或年长的朋友:Yours sincerely,Sincerely yours,Yours等
等。

写给好朋友:Love,With love,Best wishes等等。

写给亲戚:Love,With love,Afectionately yours,Your (ever)loving son (sister等
等)。

5. 签名。

签名一般在结尾语的下面一行。

6. 常见的私人信件的开头方式:
高兴:I was so glad/pleased/happy to receive your letter.
感谢:Thank you for your wonderful gift / your interesting letter.
关心与询问:How are you these days?/ How are you getting on these days / How are you gett ing on with your work/studies?
抱歉:I am sorry that I did not write to you sooner but I have been very busy these days.
一般在表示道歉没有及时给对方写信时,还要简述原因或写上安慰的话。

遗憾:I was sorry to learn that you did not do well in the exam in ati on. / I was so upset to hear that you are ill these days. I do hope you are getting better.
