Before watching this movie, I have so many questions about life. "What have we lived for? What is the most important thing in our life? Facing unexpected death, what should we do? How to treat the value of money and time? "But now an old man, a young man, has taught me the life's greatest lesson---what the true meaning of life is.
Knowing he was terminally ill, he had never despaired. On the contrary, positive was he, he taught us that once you learn how to die, you learn how to live. We should pack on our trip in the lifetime, including love, work, forgiveness, kinship and so on. Every Tuesday, Mitch went to Morrie's home and told about his experiences. It's not just a recount, but a communication between two friends. Morrie using the simplest words helped Mitch knew the real life he wanted! This movie is a magical chronicle of their time together, through which Mitch shares Morrie's lasting gift with the world.
We can't predict the future, but we can seize the day. Although every person's life has a limitation, we can do something meaningful in limited time. Help others, love others, warm others. Just as Morrie said, love is an eternal theme.Love is the only rational act. Of course, not only learn how to love, but also learn how to receive love. Just keep perseverance in those things we think worth doing, and try to give up those valueless stuffs.
When it comes to death, maybe we hardly think of it and even not to think.Morrie said: have a little bird on your shoulder and ask, is today the day I am gonna die? Am I ready? Am I being the person I want to be? Death isn't a big matter, the importance of it is what you left after your death. You should leave something to prove that you didn't live your life in vain, it's worthful. Of course, Morrie didn't want to die, but it is not what he can control, so he chose to calm his fears. Not like some other people, giving up the rest of the life, or spending much money merely for prolonging several minutes of life span. Life is not necessarily long, instead, strive for leaving a happy impression for world. Even in the last minutes of his life, he kept his sense of humor. Dying is just one thing to be sad about, living unhappily is another matter.
We are almost brainwashed by the more the better. Fame, gain, right, money, ambition we bury ourselves in these things. One person must know what he really needs, what he really wants and not being guided to the wrong direction by the society. In the end you will find that, there are few essential things, but the snowball of lust gathers as it goes on. The things you spent too much time, might not seem so important, you might have left a room for some spiritual things. The true happiness wasn't brought merely by material wealth.。
