How to Teach A Child to Ride A Bike?
You never forget how to ride a bike, but most of us forget how hard it was to learn. ____46____. Here’s what to keep in mind when instructing little ones from two feet to two wheels.
Begin with the right equipment. Start with a bicycle that’s the right size. A newbie should be able to sit on the seat with both feet flat on the ground. If the child has been using a bike with training wheels, remove them. ____47____. Long pants and long-sleeved shirts aren’t a bad idea, either, to prevent injury in the event of a fall.
____48____. Head to a location that has smooth, flat, open pavement and little or no traffic to distract or endanger your child. It helps if there’s no one around, too, so he won’t feel self-conscious. The ideal spot? A school parking lot on the weekend.
Emphasize the basics. The fundamentals of biking are balance, coasting, pedaling, and steering. To help a child learn these basic skills, remember to show how to do that in the flesh and dare to let him try. No doubt there will be more than a few stops and starts and maybe even a fall or two. ____49____.
Now practice a lot. After a fair number of dry runs, it’s time to move to the big stage. Find a bike path or a little-travelled street in a residential neighbourhood. ____50____.

牝24、根据上文“Social media like Facebook and Twitter can be very important for staying connected while physically distanced.(像Facebook和Twitter这样的社交媒体对于保持身体距离的同时保持联系非常重要)”以及后文“The amount of time people spend passively browsing social media is unrelated to positive states, but instead strongly linked to anxiety and other negative feelings. Be careful not to spend too much time passively browsing them.

根据本段内容“Researchers have found the feelings of connection and care for others that were experienced while communicating face to face can lead to more positive emotions than calling and text-based communication. In other words, what matters is the quality of the emotional connection you make with others. These connections seem to have long-term results, too, beyond just having a good day today.(研究人员发现,与打电话和短信交流相比,面对面交流所体验到的联系和关心他人的感觉可以带来更积极的情绪。

首句“Curiosity is rooted in our DNA.(好奇心根植于我们的DNA中。

C“Nowhere is this truer than when we watch our children.(没有什么比我们看着自己的孩子更真实的了。

根据后文“It holds our hand as we move into old age and the unknown of the future.(它牵着我们的手,让我们步入老年,走向未知的未来。

G“In adults, curiosity guides us toward a lifetime occupat ion and to new destinations.(对于成年人来说,好奇心引导我们走向一生的职业和新的目的地。

牝28、分析该段内容可知,设空后文“It is also the generation of possibilities.(它也是各种可能性的产生。

D“But curiosity is much more than a simple search for answers.(但好奇心远不止是简单地寻找答案。

)”中“search for answers”呼应上一段的“question-askers”,同时使用“much more than”使话题顺利过渡到该段,前后逻辑衔接紧密。

故选D项。

牝29、分析可知,后文“Ian Leslie explains it this way(伊恩·莱斯利这样解释)”中的“it”应是指代设空句,而后文“Curio sity is essential to an exploring mind; it opens our eyes to the new and undiscovered, encouraging us to seek out new experiences and meet new people.(好奇心对于探索的头脑来说是必不可少的;它让我们看到新的和未被发现的事物,鼓励我们寻找新的经验,结识新的人。

选项“Curiosity b ecomes a boost for new opportunities and new options.(好奇心成为新机会和新选择的动力。

牝30、根据前文“Curiosity is the catalyst for questioning, and questioning is what urges u s to seek out the unfamiliar and the unknown.(好奇心是质疑的催化剂,而质疑是促使我们去寻找。
