Perhaps you sometimes feel like your teenager is from another planet. However, they're your teenagers and there are steps you can take to better understand them.
The first step is to ask questions, but be strategic about it.Many teenagers give yes or no answers when you ask them a question. The key is to attract their attention when they're more likely to open up,such as when they aren't with friends or running around.Driving in the car seems to be a good time if they don't have headphones on.
When you ask questions,be sure to listen to the answers even if you don't understand half of the words they're using. It's okay to ask them for explanations. As you're listening, take notes in your mind. This will also come in handy for the next
step.
The second step is to use Google if you have no idea what your children are talking about Google the things they express interest in,the people, and even the language they use.The Urban Dictionary can be unbelievably useful.
Thirdly, you need to get involved. That means taking an active interest in your teenagers’interests.Volunteer at local organizations or at activities that they're involved in.Keep up with the things that they post and share on social media.
Lastly, relax. Each generation has their own trends, languages, and interests. When you were a teenager, your parents thought you were from another planet as well. It's normal not to be able to completely understand your teenagers. So just let them know that you're interested in their lives and then relax. You don't need to be best friends with your teenagers, nor do you need to share the same interests. Its enough to just let them know that you care about what they're up to and that you'll always be there for them.
44.If parents want to ask their teenagers questions, they're advised to______.
A.chat with their teenagers on social media
B.allow their teenagers to explain themselves first
C.learn more about their teenagers from friends
D.ask questions in right situations

C.Be accepted.
D.Be easy to reach.
46.In the last paragraph, the author stresses that parents______.
A.should make their teenagers feel beloved
B.need to treat their teenagers as best friends
C.need to exchange ideas with local schools
D.should develop the same interests as their teenagers

Scientists have been working to grow meat “in vitro,”or in a laboratory, for many years. In the laboratory they mix cells(细胞)from a horse and a pig. They feed
the cells to help them increase in number and grow into a small piece of meat.
Right now,the meat that scientists have made is very small and looks gray because in vitro meat does not need blood to grow. But this is not its only problem. It takes a long time for the meat to grow and scientists do not know how to make a large amount (数量).It also costs a lot of money to make in vitro meat.Making enough for one meal would cost $250,000.
Although producing in vitro meat has many problems, scientists continue to work because in vitro meat would have many advantages.Since we have 7,000,000,000 people on the planet to feed,in vitro meat can help lower the need for the earth's resources.
Besides,"Moving the production of meat from farms to laboratories would help cut down the huge amount of harmful gases produced by farm animals,"says reporter Nick Collins.
In vitro meat could solve many of the problems of animal meat. But can humans eat this in vitro meat?Scientists do not know if it even tastes like real meat.Because of food research laws, they are not yet able to taste their meat. But they think someday people can buy it in their local marker. They say it is real meat and it is just made in a different way.
A lot of people are still worried about in vitro meat. However,it will be years before the meat is ready to sell. Kate Shepard,a writer for Mother Jones magazine, says,“It will require hard testing before it can be fed to humans. It is still such a new idea that we do not know yet what health problems it may have.Right now, there are no rules for in vitro meat.”
47.What are the scientists trying to find out in their experiment?
A.How to get a new kind of animal.
B.How to make a new kind of meat.
C.How to make animal meat taste better.
D.How to greatly increase animals' numbers.
48.What's Paragraph 2 mainly about?
A.The ways to improve the experiment.
B.The bad influence the experiment brings.
C.The problems scientists fat:e in the experiment.
D.The difficulty in
collecting money for the experiment.
49.What does Nick think of in vitro meal?
A.It stops people's cruelty to animals.
B.It is environmentally friendly.
C.It is against the rules.
D.It worries him a lot.
50.According to scientists,in vitro meat______.
A.is safe to eat
B.tastes like real meat
C.may be successful in the future
D.will soon be available on the market

Choosing a hotel, restaurant or new product can be a hard task. There's so much on offer, and making a mistake can be expensive. This is why many people turn to online user reviews—opinions and information that's supposedly written by people who have used a service or bought a product. But can we trust them?
About 70% of Americans say they believe online user reviews.According to experts, this is because when we read a review by another person,we feel like we're getting a personal recommendation(推荐)from a friend. But a recent study shows that about one third of online reviews are not true.
Of course, companies are in need of good reviews so some of them have started to "play" the system. But how do they do it?Simple! One way is to give good reviews of your own product or service.Best-selling writer RJ Ellory was recently caught writing 5-star reviews of his own books on .He called one of his books a "modem masterpiece" and said another w ould “touch people's souls”.RJ also wrote unkind reviews of his compet itors’ books.
Another way is to "buy" good reviews.Just recently, the Cove Hotel in Comwall was caught giving guests discounts(折扣)if they wrote "honest but positive" reviews on TripAdvisor. The idea worked—one guest called the Cove “a dream come true” and another simply wrote,"I didn't want to leave!"
Some people are even making a living by writing untrue reviews. In 2010,American Todd Rutherford created (it has since closed down). For
$99,Todd would write a positive review of your book on ;and for $999,he'd write 50.At one point,Todd was making more than $28,000 per month;and one or his clients(客户)(John Locke) became a best-selling author because of Todd's reviews. So,just be careful when you are looking for reviews of the things you need on the Internet.
51.Which of the following words can best describe RJ Ellory?
A.Proud.
B.Friendly.
C.Impolite.
D.Dishonest.
52.What do we know about the Cove Hotel?
A.It is the most popular hotel on TripAdrrisor.
B.It is close to the city center but has poor service.
C.It is not as good as what people say on the Internet.
D.It allows guests to pay less if they write reviews.
.
A.made John Locke a popular writer
B.offers 50 reviews at most for one book
C.was created by Todd Rutherford in 2000
D.is a good website to learn about new books
54.What might be the author's advice for readers?
A.Go to online shops when you're choosing a book.
B.Think twice when you're reading online reviews.
C.It is good business to write reviews online.
D.It is a clever choice to run a hotel.
55.How does the author mainly develop the text?
A.By giving examples.
B.By making a comparison
C.By offering research finding.
D.By following the order of time.

Dear Bob,
How are you doing these days?I want to invite you to go on a trip with me during the summer vacation.
Lying in the south of Hainan province,Sanya is a popular tourist destination in China. The climate is warm and sunny all year around. So I believe it's a good idea for us to spend two weeks there. The first week will take a diving course.Just imagine swimming underwater with the fishes!—I can't wait! Then we can enjoy ourselves freely for another whole week.Besides, don't worry about the details, for I will take care of booking the plane tickets and the hotel.
I hope you decide to come along. It will be wonderful to see you again and we
will have a great time..
Yours,
Li Jin

Both sides of my family—my mum's and my dad's—are from a very small town south of Dublin. My father is a postman and my mum has a small shop where she sells things like milk, bread—you know, everyday things.
My dad's sisters all live in the village. Two of them went away to the States when they were in their twenties but they came back a few years ago.The other two were both nurses and they worked in Boston for about fifteen years.I went to see them a couple of times when I was a student.Anyway, they've both been back in Ireland since 1998.
Uncle Sean—that's my mum’s only brother—went to university in England where he studied business. Now he lives and works in Dublin for an international company but he has bought a small house near my mum and dad and he takes his family there every weekend.。
