为迎接2008年夏季奥运会，中国的新“华尔街”总体规划在首都的历史中心建立了一条郁郁葱葱的绿色步行通廊。

坐落于历史悠久的北京市中心地带，这个充满活力的开发项目拥有各种商业和住宅建筑和充足宽阔的公共开放空间。

SOM设计的总体规划充分利用了首都巨大的经济能量，并对由此产生的交通和空气质量方面的挑战作出回应。

北京金融街具有适宜步行的建筑尺度，达成了业主在创造正式和非正式聚会场所方面的目标。

茂盛的花园、庭院和景观步道交织在建筑物之间，营造出对行人友好的步行环境。

项目的核心建筑是面向中央公园敞开的新月形商业中心“城市大中庭”。

今天的北京金融街一派繁荣景象，已成为首都的重要地标。

北京金融街的建成将一种新的综合体开发模式引入了中国——这种模式把商务、住宅、商业、娱乐和公共开放空间独特地整合在一起，标志着项目所在区域日益提升的国际声誉。

Ushering in a new model of mixed-use development, this masterplan for China’s new “Wall Street” established a lush and walkable corridor in the capital city’s historic center in time for the 2008 Summer Olympics.
Located in the city’s historic center, the vibrant district contains a diverse mix of commercial and residential buildings along with ample public space. SOM’s master plan capitalized on the city’s tremendous economic energy and addressed the resulting challenges of improving transportation and air quality.
The scale is unmistakably pedestrian-friendly, which reflects the client’s goal to create both formal and informal meeting places. A network of lush gardens, courtyards, and landscaped pathways weave between buildings and result in a walkable environment. The district is anchored by the “Great Urban Atrium,” a crescent-shaped structure that opens onto a central park.
Upon its completion, Beijing Finance Street introduced a new model of mixed-use development to China, one that signaled the region’s rising global prominence through a unique blend of commercial, residential, retail, entertainment, and open space. Bustling with around-the-clock activity, the district has become a prominent fixture within the city.
