英文小绘本书名学到的单词喜欢的句子读后感
Title: My Favorite Words Learned from English Picture Books
I have always been a bookworm since I was a child, and one of my favorite genres of books is picture books. Not only are they visually appealing, but they also serve as a great tool for learning new words in a fun and creative way. In this essay, I will share some of my favorite words that I have learned from English picture books, along with sentences that I love using them in, and my overall thoughts and feelings after reading these books.
One of the first words that caught my attention was "serendipity." I came across this word while reading a picture book called "The Magic of Friendship." The sentence that stood out to me was, "It was pure serendipity that we met on that rainy afternoon." I was captivated by the sound of the word and its meaning of finding something good without looking for it. Since then, I have used it in conversations with my friends to describe unexpected and happy events.
Another word that I fell in love with is "gossamer." I encountered this word in a picture book titled "The Spider's Tale." The sentence that resonated with me was, "The spider spun a web so delicate, it shimmered like gossamer in the
sunlight." The word gossamer painted a vivid picture in my mind of something delicate and ethereal. I have since incorporated it into my writing to describe fragile and intricate things.
A word that I learned from a picture book called "The Enchanted Forest" is "effervescent." The sentence that caught my eye was, "The waterfall sparkled and bubbled, creating an effervescent display of nature's beauty." The word effervescent reminded me of fizzy drinks, and I was delighted to discover its metaphorical meaning of being lively and enthusiastic. I now use it to describe lively personalities that brighten up a room.
"Petrichor" is another word that I learned from a picture book titled "The Rainy Day Adventure." The sentence that stayed with me was, "After the rain, the petrichor filled the air, bringing a sense of freshness and renewal." The word petrichor describes the pleasant earthy scent that follows a rain shower, and I found it to be a beautifully descriptive word. I often use it to describe the rejuvenating smell of rain-soaked soil.
One more word that I found fascinating is "ephemeral." I discovered this word in a picture book called "The Butterfly's Journey." The sentence that touched my heart was, "The butterfly's beauty was ephemeral, lasting only for a fleeting moment before it fluttered away." The word ephemeral conveys
the idea of something transient and short-lived, which made me appreciate the fleeting beauty of nature even more. I now use it to describe moments that are fleeting but precious.
Overall, reading English picture books has not only expanded my vocabulary but has also opened my eyes to the beauty of language and storytelling. The words I have learned have enriched my writing and conversations, allowing me to express myself more eloquently and creatively. I am grateful for the role that picture books have played in shaping my love for words and language. I look forward to discovering more enchanting words and stories through my continued exploration of picture books.。
