Hi, Hongbo,
I’m so gl ad to read about the changes ta king place in your city. It’s really good news that you can travel by subway in Xi’an, though there’s only one line there. Here in London we have twelve lines. By the way, we do n’t use the word “subway” here. It’s American English. We call it “the Underground”, instead.
The London Underground is very famous. It’s famous for several reasons. First of all, part of the underground railway today is the oldest in the world, which opened in 1863. Secondly, the London Underground is also the first line to have electric trains, in 1890. Thirdly but not the last, the London Underground is the second largest metro system in the world, after the Shanghai Metro. There are 270 stations in the Underground and it has 402 kilometres of tracks(轨道). What’s more, the city of London itself helps make the transport system famous! I’ve got a few photos to help you build a clear picture of the Underground in my city. They are together with this mail.
In your email, you also said workers were building more lines. I’m sure your city is developing fast. Maybe you can send me a few photos of your city today. I really want to see the changes taking place there. I’m happy for you to live there in an old city with such a new look!
So much for now. I’ll write soon again. Best wishes!

When we have small cuts in the skin(皮肤), something strange may happen. The cuts are able to
heal(痊愈) themselves in a couple of days. How does this happen? Read on, and you will find out the secret.
Every living thing on the earth is made up of cells(细胞). Cells grow and make new cells. Most cells are very small and we can't see them with our eyes. Different cells have different uses. Our skin cells are special ones. The cells on the outside of our skin are old dead cells. New skin cells are right
under the outside. These are the living skin cells. They work for our bodies. They help protect our bodies and heal cuts.
Our bodies make skin cells all the time. As the old cells fall off, new cells grow in the same place. Each person makes about 18 kg of skin cells during his or her life. Outside skin cells fit together closely with no gaps between them. When you cut yourself, you can harm your skin cells. A small cut will not be harmful. Your skin will quickly heal itself by making new skin cells. How do skin cells work? First, the cells near the cut get bigger and move into the gap. Next, these bigger cells meet in the middle. They form a new layer(层) of skin cells. Finally, new cells will grow until the gap disappears. In this way, your skin can grow and get well itself. How amazing the small cells are! Next time you have a cut, don't worry about it. Maybe in a few days, you will be surprised to find it healed. 61. The underlined word “gaps” in the passage means “______” in Chinese. A. 突起 B. 条纹 C. 缝隙 D. 代沟 62. From the passage, we know that cells______. A. are large and we can see them with our eyes B. can heal few cuts themselves C. are in everything on the earth D. can grow and make new cells
63. Skin cells heal cuts in three steps. ______is the right order.
64. Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage? A. Each person can make 18 kg of skin cells every day. B. Different cells have different uses in our bodies. C. The skin cells have little work to do in the body. D. Every living thing on the earth is made up of skin cells 65. The best title for this passage should be______.

Have you heard the expression "You are what you eat"? Well, do you like who you are? If not, break some bad eating habits and follow the tips for healthy habits below.
Bad habit 1: You snack too much.
①snacks between ①are fine. If you are hungry, it’s good to eat some healthy snacks. But when you snack instead of having real meals, you will not eat your meals regularly. Snack foods such as chips and sweets aren't very good. That makes it easy to overeat(吃得过多).
The solution: To get more energy, let yourself two healthy snacks a day. Choose snacks that will make you feel full. Try fruit, yogurt or nuts.
Bad habit 2: You often don’t eat breakfast.
People without breakfast don't have enough energy they need to get through the morning. Eating breakfast improves your attention, memory and feelings.
The solution: Always keep a kind of quick foods like yogurt. Or have a standing order(长期订购) at breakfast place.
Bad habit 3: You are a fast eater.
②It takes your body at least 20 minutes to "tell" your brain(大脑) that you are full, So fast eaters usually eat more than people who eat slowly.
The solution: Try to slow down. Try eating at least some of your meals without TV, hand phones or computers. Use a plate or bowl when you eat.
Bad habit 4: All your meals come in packages.
Many packaged ( = in small bags) foods, such as frozen (冰冻的)dumplings , rice rolls and instant noodles (方便面) have lots of fat and calories.
The solution: Read the instructions to find the healthiest foods that are low in salt and high in fiber(纤维). Also check to make sure they have vegetables and grains in them. When possible, use packaged foods as part of a "home-cooked" meal. For example, frozen dumplings with fresh vegetables are better than dumplings alone.
1.在①句的空白处填入适当的词使句意完整、上下文通顺:_____________ _____________
2.将②句译成中文:_____________________________________________________________ 3.回答问题:How can you eat frozen dumplings healthily?
_____________________________________________________________________________ 4.在文中找出与意思相近的句子:
