2.分词作表语 分词作表语有现在分词和过去分词两种情况,表示“令人……的”, 用现在分词形式;表示“感到……的”,用过去分词形式。 例如:若人对某事物感兴趣,就是 sb.is interested in...若人/物本身 有趣时,就是 sb./sth.is interesting。 Travelling is interesting but tiring. 旅行是有趣的,但是使人疲劳。 The pupils will get confused if they are made to learn too much. 如果要学生学得太多,他们会被搞糊涂的。

三、表语中应注意的问题 1.表语形容词:英语中,有些形容词在句中只作表语(有时可以 作状语),一般不能作定语。例如:alone,asleep,alike,alive, awake,afraid,ill,ashamed,interested,excited,glad 等。 The two books on the desk are alike. 桌子上的那两本书很相似。 She is too ashamed to say a word. 她羞愧得说不出话来。

4.表语从句 (1)表语从句的定义 表语从句是在复合句中作表语的名词性从句,即用一个句子作为 表语。表语从句放在系动词之后,一般结构是“主语+连系动词 +表语从句”。可以接表语从句的连系动词有 be,look,remain, seem 等。另外,常用的还有 The reason is that...和 It is because... 等结构。例如: The problem is when we can get a pay rise. 问题是我们什么时候能涨工资。
