【摘要】"The silence fish" is Tan En-mei’s work, in the novel, Tan En-mei describes the eastern and western culture and scenery. Writer uses humorous style to describe the differences between east and west, the contradiction between each other, and the art of the collision between east and west culture, from the image, build positive image of the Oriental, overturns the white image at the same time, eliminate the white race superiority, reflected in the process of the continuous development of the world, the demand of the multicultural coexistence between.%《沉默之鱼》是谭恩美实现全新突破的作品，在这部小说中谭恩美对东西方文化和风光进行了真实客观的描述。

作家用十分幽默的文笔将东西方之间的差异、相互之间的矛盾以及东西方文化之间的的艺术碰撞向读者娓娓道来，作者在形象上构建了东方人积极正面的形象，同时对西方尤其是白人的形象进行了颠覆，消除了白人的种族优越感，体现了在世界的不断发展过程中多元文化之间的共存的需求。
