My Name Is Arlo Rolston
Hi there! My name is Arlo Rolston and I'm 9 years old. I live in a small town called Meadowbrook with my mom, dad, older sister Lily, and our dog Rufus. Our house is a cute little yellow one with a porch swing out front that my dad built himself. I just started 4th grade at Meadowbrook Elementary School a few weeks ago.
I think the best way for you to get to know me is if I tell you about some of my favorite things! My absolute favorite thing in the whole world is animals. I'm kind of obsessed with them if I'm being honest. I have so many stuffed animal toys that my mom jokes I'm opening my own little zoo. My dream is to become a zookeeper or a wildlife expert when I grow up so I can take care of all the amazing creatures.
Rufus is my best furry friend of course. He's a big golden retriever who has been my pal since I was just a baby. We do everything together - play fetch, go for walks, and even have
sleepovers in my room sometimes when he manages to sneak up to my bed. My parents pretend to get mad but I think they think it's kinda cute.
In school, my favorite subject is science. I just love learning about how things work, especially anything to do with nature. I was really excited when we got to grow our own bean plants from seeds this year. My plant was the tallest one in the class! I also like math because I'm a whiz at solving problems and using numbers. It's kinda fun for me.
For hobbies, I'm a total sports nut. Soccer is my #1 love - I've been playing since I was 5 and I'm on the Meadowbrook Lions travelling team. We practice twice a week and have games pretty much every weekend. I'm a forward and I scored 15 goals last season! I'm also obsessed with basketball and love shooting hoops out on the driveway with my dad. In the winters, my family and I go skiing up at Canyon Ridge which is only about an hour away. I'm a total daredevil on the slopes and mom is always telling me to be careful. But what fun is being careful?
My favorite foods are definitely tacos and ice cream. For my birthday last month, my parents let me pick anywhere I wanted to go for dinner and I chose Taco Town because their tacos are legendary. As for ice cream, there's this amazing place
downtown called Smooshy Smooshers that lets you pick crazy toppings and mix-ins for your ice cream. My go-to order is a double scoop of mint chocolate chip with gummy worms and crushed Oreos mixed in. It's soooo good!
I have a pretty great group of friends that I've known since we were all in kindergarten. There's Nick, Emma, Tyler, and Lucy. We're all on the same soccer team and love causing a ruckus wherever we go. We're always making up new games to play at recess like cloud watching contests or kicking around the tetherball for as long as we can without it hitting the pole. My friends and I also take gymnastics together once a week. We're not very good but we have a blast doing all the flips and jumps anyway!
For holidays and my birthday, I always get really excited. Halloween is definitely my favorite - I love dressing up in a crazy costume and getting to go trick-or-treating around the neighborhood to score as much candy as possible. Last year I went as a tyrannosaurus rex and won the costume contest at school. This Christmas was also epic - I got the latest Xbox game console that I'd been begging my parents for along with a whole bunch of new games to play.
My family likes to go on little trips and adventures together whenever we can. A few years ago, we drove down to Florida to go to Disney World which was a total dream come true for me. I loved seeing all the different themed parks and riding all the cool rides, especially the roller coasters! My favorite was definitely the Expedition Everest roller coaster - it went so fast and felt like we were really on an adventure. Last summer, we rented an RV and drove up north to go camping in the woods of Maine for a week which was awesome. We went on hikes, had s'mores by the campfire every night, and I got to see my first moose in real life!
Well, I could probably go on and on for days telling you about myself but I don't want this to get too long! Just know that I'm a fun-loving kid who loves sports, animals, and having adventures with my family and friends. I try to make the most out of every day and live life to the fullest. Thanks for reading my story and getting to know me!

My Name is Alan Roylston
Hi everyone! My name is Alan Roylston and I'm 10 years old.
I live in a big city called New York with my mom, dad, and little
sister Lily who is 7. We have a cute dog named Rufus too - he's a golden retriever and he's my best friend!
I love living in New York because there's always something fun to do. On the weekends, my family and I explore different neighborhoods and try new restaurants. My favorite cuisine is Italian food - I absolutely LOVE pasta, pizza, and gelato (which is fancy Italian ice cream). Whenever we go to an Italian restaurant, I get the biggest plate of spaghetti and meatballs. Yum!
During the week, I go to elementary school. My favorite subjects are math and science because I'm really good at solving problems and doing experiments. This year in science, we got to grow our own bean plants and watch them sprout from seeds. It was so cool! I also like gym class a lot because I'm a super active kid. I play soccer, baseball, and basketball on different teams every season.
One of my biggest hobbies is building things with Legos. I have a huge Lego collection with thousands of pieces in every shape, color and size you can imagine. I've made super cool spaceships, castles, robots, and more. Sometimes my friends come over and we'll spend hours constructing big Lego cities together. I'm definitely going to be an engineer when I grow up so I can design awesome buildings and machines.
I'm also really into science fiction movies and books, especially Star Wars. I've seen all the Star Wars films a million times and read all the books too. My favorite character is Han Solo because he's the coolest pilot ever and has a great sense of humor. For my last birthday, my parents got me a life-size Han Solo figure that I keep in my room. How awesome is that?
Speaking of my room, I have the sweetest setup with a racecar bed, glow-in-the-dark stars on the ceiling, and shelves full of action figures, comic books, and video games. My parents let me have a TV and all the latest game consoles in my room so my friends and I can have epic gamingmaratons on the weekends. We'll play for hours trying to beat the bonus levels and bonus bosses on games like Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart, and Zelda.
When I'm not building Legos, reading sci-fi, gaming with my friends, or playing sports, I really enjoy just hanging out with my family. We love having movie nights where we'll make popcorn and watch comedies together. My dad is sooo funny and does the best voiced impersonations of the characters. We also like going to the park and playing catch or exploring hiking trails through the woods.
My mom is my biggest fan and always encourages me to work hard and follow my dreams. She's on the PTA at my school and is room mom for my class, so she's always volunteering and helping out the teachers. My dad is a police officer which is a really cool job - sometimes he'll let me sit in the cop car and turn on the siren! For Take Your Child to Work Day, I got to see the police station and meet all of his work buddies.
My little sister Lily and I have a classic sibling relationship - we bicker and pick on each other but we're actually best friends. We came up with a awesome secret handshake and make sure no adults ever see it. We also have an entire made-up language that only we can understand! It drives our parents nuts when we're chattering away in our silly language at the dinner table.
Well, that's a little about me - just your average 10-year-old boy who loves his family, building crazy Lego creations, and exploring everything the world has to offer. Thanks for reading my story! I'll leave you with one of my favorite jokes:
What kind of shoes do frogs wear?Open toad!

My Name is Arlo Ralston
Hi there! My name is Arlo Ralston and I'm 10 years old. I live in a small town called Armadillo Flats with my mom, dad, and little sister Carly. We've got a dog named Rufus who is always getting into mischief. I really like living here even though it's not a big city with lots of tall buildings and stuff. There's plenty of room to run around and explore the desert and canyons near our house. That's one of my favorite things to do!
I'm in the 5th grade at Armadillo Flats Elementary School. My best friends are Tyler Jones and Emma Rodriguez. Tyler and I have known each other since we were babies. Our moms are best friends too. Emma just moved here last year from California but we hit it off right away. The three of us do everything together at school and after school. We're all on the soccer team too. Go Roadrunners!
My Favorite Subjects
My favorite subjects in school are math and science. I'm really good at solving math problems, especially algebra stuff. It just kind of comes naturally to me. Science is awesome too, especially when we get to do experiments. Last year we made these rad volcano models that actually erupted! My least favorite subject is English and writing essays. I'm not very good at sitting still long enough to write a whole paper. My mind starts
wandering and I start doodling pictures in my notebook instead of writing. Whoops!
Outdoor Adventures
As I mentioned before, I love being outdoors and going on adventures. My dad is a forest ranger so he takes me and Carly hiking, camping, rock climbing, you name it. We've explored so many cool canyons, mesas, and arches around here. One time we even went caving in these underground tunnels. It was dark and spooky but so much fun! I'm a pretty fearless kid when it comes to outdoor stuff. I'm always the first one to go climbing up a rock face or cliff. My poor mom gets so worried but I've never fallen or got hurt too bad, thank goodness.
My biggest outdoor adventure happened last summer though. My dad took me canyoneering, which is like hiking down into these narrow canyons and rappelling down the steep rocky walls. Well, at one point I got stuck in this crazy tight space. Like really, really stuck! I couldn't move my arms or legs at all. It was terrifying. I literally thought I might die down there. After being trapped for hours, I finally had to break my own arm to get free! It was the scariest and most painful thing ever. Thankfully some hikers found me not long after that and I got airlifted to the
hospital. I had to get surgery and it took several months before my arm was fully healed up.
Despite that crazy ordeal, I can't wait to go back out canyoneering again. I'm not going to let one little accident stop me from having adventures in the great outdoors! My dream is to become an outdoor guide or forest ranger just like my dad when I grow up. I want to spend my life exploring all the amazing landscapes, canyons, and wilderness areas around the world. Getting paid to go on awesome adventures every day? Sign me up!
My Other Hobbies
When I'm not at school or trekking around in the desert, I have a few other hobbies I really enjoy. I collect cool rocks and gemstones that I find on my outdoor adventures. My collection has some really neat geodes, fossils, and even a few arrowheads that are hundreds of years old. I also like building model rockets and launching them. My longest flight so far went over 1500 feet straight up! Another fun hobby is whittling. My grandpa taught me how to carefully carve wood into little animal figures using just a pocket knife. So far I've made a coyote, roadrunner, javelina, and more. Knife safety is super important though, especially for a kid like me.
That's a little bit about my life here in Armadillo Flats. Despite the lack of big city excitement, I have plenty of outdoor adventures and hobbies to keep me busy. Even though I had that really scary canyoneering accident, I'm not going to let it stop me from exploring and having fun. An awesome adventurer has to take a few risks, right? Thanks for reading my story! Maybe you can come visit Armadillo Flats sometime and we can go on a hiking or caving adventure. Just don't get yourself stuck like I did! See ya!

My Name is Alan Rollston
Hi there! My name is Alan Rollston and I'm 10 years old. I'm in the 5th grade at Oakwood Elementary School. I live with my mom, dad, and little sister Emily who is 7. We also have a dog named Buddy who is a golden retriever. He's really playful and loves to run around the backyard chasing squirrels!
My Family
My mom's name is Sarah and she works as a nurse at the hospital downtown. She has to work pretty long hours sometimes but always makes time for me and Emily in the evenings. She helps us with our homework and reads us stories
before bed. My dad's name is Michael and he owns a construction company. He's really strong and good at building things. On weekends, he likes to work on house projects like fixing the deck or planting a new garden. Emily and I try to help out however we can, even though we sometimes make a bit of a mess!
My Hobbies
I have a lot of different hobbies that I like to do for fun. One of my favorites is playing soccer. I'm on a local recreational team called the Tigers and we practice twice a week after school. I play defense but sometimes get to be the goalie which is my favorite position. Our team isn't the best but we have a lot of fun together. I also love reading comic books, especially ones with superheroes like Spider-Man and The Avengers. I have a huge collection in my room that I've been gathering for years.
Another hobby I really enjoy is coding and computer programming. I took an intro class last year and made some basic games and apps. It was really cool to see the things I could create just by writing a bunch of code. My dad got me a Raspberry Pi computer for my birthday so I've been using that to try and code some new projects. It can be frustrating when I get
errors, but I love the feeling of finally getting my program to work right.
The last big hobby I have is just hanging out with my friends. We love riding our bikes around the neighborhood and going to the park to play pick-up games like tag or kickball. Sometimes we'll have sleepovers on the weekends and stay up late watching movies, eating pizza, and playing video games. Having a solid group of friends is really important to me.
School Life
Even though it can be boring at times, I actually don't mind school too much. My favorite subjects are math and science because I like solving problems and doing hands-on experiments. Reading is probably my worst subject since I have some trouble focusing sometimes when the books aren't very engaging. I get decent grades, mostly A's and B's.
Outside of classes, I'm involved in the school's coding club, chess club, and tutoring program where I help younger kids with their work. I really enjoy the coding club since we get to work on fun projects and games together. Chess club is cool too because it really makes you think strategically. And tutoring is rewarding since I like being able to help others understand concepts better.
My Dream
Looking towards the future, I'm really interested in possibly pursuing a career in technology or engineering when I grow up. The idea of designing new products, software, or technology that could help make the world better is really exciting to me. It might be awesome to work for a big tech company like Google or Apple someday. Or even start my own tech company from scratch!
Of course, I'm still pretty young so I could change my mind a thousand times between now and then. But I think having a job where I'm constantly solving problems, being creative, and working with cutting-edge tools would be the perfect fit for me. I have a long road of school ahead to get there, but I'm hopeful that if I work hard and follow my passions, anything is possible.
Well, that's a little bit about me and my life so far! Being a kid can be tough with all the schoolwork and responsibilities. But I also feel very fortunate to have such a loving family, great friends, and lots of interests that I'm passionate about pursuing. Every day is a new adventure full of possibilities. I'm excited to see where life takes me next!

My Name Is Alan Raulston
Hi there! My name is Alan Raulston and I'm a 10-year-old boy in the 5th grade. I live with my mom, dad, and little sister Emily in a green house on Maple Street. Our house has a big backyard where I love to play catch with my dad and climb the old oak tree. I'm going to tell you all about myself, my family, and what I like to do for fun!
I have brown hair and green eyes. My mom says I look just like my dad did when he was a kid, except he had glasses and I don't need them yet. I'm about 4 feet 8 inches tall, which is pretty average for my age I think. I have a nice smile with straight teeth since I never needed braces. My favorite outfit is a red t-shirt, blue jeans, and sneakers. I've been told I have a loud voice for such a little guy!
In my family, my mom's name is Sarah and she works at a bank downtown. My dad is named Michael and he owns a hardware store in our town. My little sister Emily just turned 8 years old. She can be really annoying sometimes but I still love her. We also have a dog named Buster who is a friendly golden retriever. He's gotten pretty old but still loves to play fetch and go for walks.
At school, my favorite subjects are math and science. I'm really good at arithmetic and word problems. Science is awesome because we get to do a lot of hands-on experiments. My least favorite is probably writing because it's hard for me to sit still that long. I play baseball and soccer for my school's team which keeps me active. I'm a decent student overall and usually get As and Bs.
After school, my best friend Jake and I love riding our bikes around the neighborhood. We race each other and pretend
we're in the Tour de France. I'm also in the local Cub Scouts troop which is a lot of fun. We go on camping trips, sell popcorn, and learn outdoor skills. My favorite part is toasting marshmallows around the campfire and telling spooky stories.
On the weekends, I really enjoy going fishing down at the creek with my dad. He taught me how to bait a hook, cast a line, and reel the fish in when I get a bite. I've caught a bunch of bluegill, bass, and catfish so far! Sometimes we'll pack a picnic lunch too which is always delicious. My dad makes the best fried chicken and potato salad.
In the summertime when school is out, our family usually takes a vacation somewhere fun. Last year we went to the beach for a week in Florida. I loved swimming in the ocean, making
sandcastles, and finding cool seashells. The year before that we visited my aunt and uncle on their farm in Tennessee. I got to bottle feed the baby calves and collect eggs from the chicken coop which was awesome!
My biggest dream is to become a professional baseball player when I grow up. I watch the major leagues on TV all the time and know all the teams and best players. My favorite is the New York Yankees. Every night I practice my batting, catching, and throwing outside until it gets too dark. I really hope I can make it to the big leagues someday!
Well, that's pretty much all about me in a nutshell. As you can see, I'm just a regular 10-year-old boy who loves being active, spending time outdoors, and having fun with my family and friends. Thanks for reading my introduction, it was nice to tell you all about myself. Let me know if you have any other questions!

My Name is Alonzo Rollston
Hi there! My name is Alonzo Rollston and I'm 10 years old. I'm in the 5th grade at Oakwood Elementary School. I live with
my mom, dad, older sister Zoe who is 13, and our dog Rufus. He's a golden retriever and he's really fun to play with!
I like a bunch of different things. One of my favorite subjects in school is science. I think learning about how things work is super fascinating. Last year we got to do an experiment where we made little volcanos out of baking soda and vinegar and I thought that was really cool. I also like math a lot, especially geometry with all the shapes and stuff.
Another things I really like is sports! My favorite sport is definitely baseball. I'm on my school's baseball team and I play center field. I'm a pretty good batter too. My favorite players are Mookie Betts and Juan Soto. I also really enjoy basketball, football, and soccer too though. I'm a huge fan of the Boston sports teams like the Red Sox, Celtics, Patriots, and Revolution.
Speaking of Boston, that's where I'm from originally! I was born right in downtown Boston. My dad is from Jamaica though, and my mom is from Puerto Rico. That means I'm mixed - Black, Latino, and White. I think learning about our different cultures is really cool. Sometimes my abuela comes over and makes us traditional Puerto Rican foods like mofongo, which is made out of fried plantains. It's delicious!
My family is really important to me. My sister Zoe and I joke around a lot and like to do imitations of our parents behind their backs, but don't tell them that! I'm really close with my mom and dad too. They've taught me so much about working hard, being a good person, and following my dreams. We like to go on hikes, have game nights, and take trips together as a family. Last summer we went camping in the White Mountains in New Hampshire. Hiking up the mountains was hard work but the views were breathtaking. I'll never forget sitting around the campfire, looking up at the starry night sky.
Some of my other interests and hobbies are reading, especially fantasy novel series like Harry Potter. I also love playing video games like Minecraft and watching movies and shows like The Lord of the Rings, Marvel, Star Wars, and really any movies with superheroes or adventures in space or other worlds. I'm also really into Lego and have created some epic Lego cities and spaceships. Building and creating things with my hands is a lot of fun.
I'd say I'm a pretty energetic and outgoing kid. I love cracking jokes with my friends and making people laugh. I have a good group of buddies at school that I hang out with at recess to play games like kickball or just goof around. Sometimes we get
into trouble for being a little too rambunctious, but we're just having fun! I can also be kinda loud and don't always realize how rowdy I'm being until my parents or teachers tell me to calm down. Oops!
One thing I really want to work on is being a little more organized. My mom is always saying how messy my room is and how I need to clean it up more often. To be honest, she's probably right about that. My backpack and schoolwork can get pretty disorganized too. I just have so much energy and am doing so many things that I get distracted easily and forget to tidy up sometimes. It's something I'm going to try harder on going forward.
Overall though, I'd say I'm a happy, friendly kid who likes learning, sports, adventures, and just having fun! I'm really looking forward to getting older and experiencing more of the world. Who knows, maybe I'll be a scientist discovering new innovations, or a baseball player hitting home runs in the MLB, or maybe even an astronaut exploring other planets! As long as I get to follow my passions and do something that makes me feel excited to get out of bed each morning, I'll be content. For now though, I'm just enjoying being a kid - playing sports, spending
time with my family and friends, and learning as much as I can each day.。
