摘要:PURPOSE:To enable the grasping of deficiency and wear on the entire area of a belt by arranging a plurality of ultrasonic sensors widthwise with respect to the conveyor route. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic beam is emitted to the surface of a belt 2 through air from an ultrasonic sensor 3 set away from the surface of conveyor belt 2 rotating in contact with a pulley 1. At the same time, the reflected beam is received to determine the distance between the sensor 3 and the surface of the belt by a control section 5 dependeng on the response time of the ultrasonic wave. From deviation between he distance thus obtained and the preset reference value, lengthwise wear and deficiency of the belt 2 is measured continuously in a contractless manner. In this case, the sensor 3 are set in plurality widthwise W on the belt 2. The belt 2 is rotated only at the frequency equivalent to the number of the sensor 3 and the output of each sensor is changed to grasp deficiency and wear on the entire surface of the belt 2.
