英语演讲稿(北京国际电影节)
英语演讲稿(北京国际电影节)Hello, everyone. Today, my topic is Beijing International Film Festival. First of all, I will introduce something about it. Beijing International Film Festival was founded in 2023, and it is sponsored by the State Administration of Radio Film and Television. This festival is aimed at Integrating domestic and international film resources, building a large platform for displaying, communication and trading and making Beijing a new film center of the world. So we can use four words to conclude the characteristics of this film festival, they are international, professional, advanced and creative. As we all know, Beijing is always the center of China in all ages, no matter in political or economic sense. What’s more, along with rapid development in almost all aspects, Beijing definitely has enough strength and experience to hold this kind of activity. By Beijing international film festival, we can show our Chinese traditional culture to people in the world, strength international communication and cooperation. Also, we can promote the development of our Chinese film. Most importantly, this activity will provide a feast for the eyes, because people will enjoy hundreds of outstanding films. On the evening of April 16, the opening ceremony of Beijing International Film Festival had been held in the Temple of Heaven. Thedirector of the opening ceremony integrate Chinese long history since ancient times and light and shadow that modern technology make. There are a lot of singers and dancers showing an exquisite beyond compare evening. It is worth mentioning that famous pianist Langlang also joined this ceremony.Beijing international film festival attracts hundreds of domestic and international super stars to walk the red carpet, such as Fan Bingbing and Feng Xiaogang, Liu Yifei, James Cameron and his wife, the director of Titanic, Liu Dehua and Ling Zhiling, Zhang Ziyi.Next part, I will introduce some winners of Beijing international film festival. The best film is Back To 1942. Now you can watch the trailer. Back to 1942 is directed by Feng Xiaogang. Zhang Guoli, Xu Fan and Chen Daoming play main roles in the film. It is a disaster film that during 1942, China was fighting anti-Japanese war. At that time, a sudden drought in henan province force tens of millions of people to leave their home and look for food to survive. This film tries to tell the history from four different viewing angles. They are government, international reporter, priest and drought victims. The government should have taken measures to save the victims. But they do nothing, because they don’t have enough time, money and resources. Japan has put heavy pressure on them. International reporter and priest try to save the victims on their own way. However, the strength of a person is always small. Maybe theycan save some people, they can’t save all people. As for the victims, they can’t protect their property, dignity and even life. However, when no one can help them, they show to us their great wisdom and courage, solve the problems, and then get themselves out of the crisis again and again.Next winner is Cate Shortland. She got Best Director with the film LORE. Cate Shortland was born in Australia in 1968. Since directing the film called Bad Cop, Bad Cop, she has directed many outstanding films, including Somersault in 2023 and The Silence in 2023.In addition, Best Actor is Terence Stamp because of his wonderful performance in the film Song for Marion. Chinese actress Yan Bingyan gets Best Actress with the film Wanjianchuanxin. Sorry I don’t know how to translate. That is all I want to say. Thanks for listening.。

Some of the festivals are major competitions, while others are smaller events to help draw attention to more experimental movies. One of the most famous film festivals in the world takes place in the French town of Cannes during twelve days in May. The Cannes Film Festival started in 1946 as a social gathering for showing movies. Later, the popular event developed into an important competition.Visitors to the festival also see a series of short films, as well as films which don’t compete for awards. But the Cannes Film Festival is more than about honoring special movies and seeing famous actors. Each year, more than 1,000 people from almost 100 countries gather to watch about 900 movies. This helps link people from all areas of the movie industry. Also, it helps filmmakers sell their movies to distributors(发行人) so they canbe shown in theaters around the world. The Venice International Film Festival starts in late August. Dating back to 1932, it is one of the oldest movie festivals in the world. Many film festivals have very specialized subjects. In Belgium you can go to the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival. For 26 years this festival has been showing science fiction and horror movies from around the world. If this event seems too frightening, you can attend the International Children’s Film Festival in Frankfurt, Germany. In Turkey, the International Istanbul Film Festival, which was first organized in 1982, shows movies about art, music, dance or literature. On any given day, a film festival is probably taking place somewhere around the world. These important and exciting events help to celebrate the art and industry of movies.4.What do we know about the Cannes Film Festival?A.It lasts twelve days in winter.B.It started as a film competition.C.It attracts about 1,000 actors every year.D.It increases the popularity of some films. 5.Which of the following film festivals has the longest history?A.The Venice International Film Festival.B.The Cannes Film Festival.C.The International Istanbul Film Festival.D.The Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival.6.In paragraph 5, the writer introduces three film festivals to show that ________.A.there are many film festivalsB.film festivals have a long historyC.many film festivals have their own subjectsD.film festivals are popular around the world7.What would be the best title for the text?A.The Oldest Film Festival in the World.B.Film Festivals Around the World.C.Development of Films in the World.D.The History of Film Festivals in the World. It seems hard to watch someone yawn (打哈欠) and not to yawn ourselves. Even reading about yawning can make you do it. Now, a new study has found why yawning has such apowerful force.Yawning when others yawn, the study suggests, is a sign of pity and a form of social connection. Kids don’t develop this deeply rooted behavior until around age four, the study found. Kids with autism (自闭症) are less likely to catch yawns. In the most serious cases, they never do. Yawning might help doctors to see whether the children are developing rightly. The work could also lead to a better understanding of the ways that people communicate and connect.“Emotional infection seems to be a born thing that connects us together,” said Molly Helt, a graduate student in psychology at the University of Connecticut. “Yawning may be part of that.” Inspiration for her study came when she tried to get her own autistic son to clear his ears on an airplane. She repeatedly yawned at him, hoping he would yawn back. He never did.“The fact that autistic kids don’t do it might mean they’re really missing out on that emotional connection with people around them,” she said. “The biggest thing people try to figure out after birth is how we become humans and understand that humans have minds that are different from others’,” she added. “Autistic people never seem to understand that.”Like infectious (有感染力的) laughter and crying, scientists have found that yawning is a shared experience that promotes social connection. Helt said it could fight stress after a period of being nervous and spread a feeling of calm through a group.8.According to the first two paragraphs, what does the new study suggest?A.It is easy to stop yawning when you see others yawn.B.Yawning is a form of communication.C.Children follow others in yawning just after they are born.D.Yawning has some mysterious force which is related to God.9.According to Molly Helt, _________.A.yawning is a kind of emotional connection among humansB.humans differ from animals because they communicate with othersC.emotions are infectious, but yawning is notD.yawning helps clear ears on planes10.Which of the following is NOT true about yawning?A.It is natural to yawn back if people around you yawn.B.Some kids are too young to yawn after others.C.Kids with autism yawn easily when others yawn.D.Yawning can be used to test children’s development.11.The author implies in the last paragraph that ________.A.it is bad manners to yawn on some social occasionsB.yawning can make people feel relaxedC.the more you yawn, the happier you will beD.yawning is different from infectious laughter and crying in theoryMany people have difficulty in getting up in the morning. This might be called laziness, but Dr. Kleitman has a new explanation. He has proved that everyone has a daily energy cycle.During the hours when you work, you may say that you’re “hot”. That’s true. The time of day when you feel most energetic is when your cycle of body temperature is at its peak (顶峰). For some people the peak comes during the morning. For others it comes in the afternoon or evening. No one has discovered why this is so, but it leads to such familiar words as: “Get up, John! You’ll be late for work again!” The possible explanation to the trouble is that John is at his temperature-and-energy peak in the evening. Much family quarrelling ends when husbands and wives realize what these energy cycles mean, and which cycle each member of the family has.You can’t change your energy cycle, but you can learn to make your life fit it better. Habit can help, Dr. Kleitman believes. Maybe you’re sleepy in the evening but feel you must stay up late anyway. If so, staying up later than you want to may counteract your cycle in some way. If our energy is low in the morning but you have an important job to do early in the day, rise before your usual hour. This won’t change your cycle, but you’ll get steam and work better at your low point.Get off to a slow start which saves your energy. Get up with a comfortable yawn and stretch. Sit on the edge of the bed for a minute before putting your feet on the floor. Avoid the troublesome search for clean clothes by laying them out the night before.12.Dr. Kleitman explains that a person is difficult to get up in the morning probably because of ________.A.his own laziness.B.his bad rest at night.C.his own habit .D.his own energy cycle.13.According to the passage, people’s energy peak may come________.A.in the morning .B.in the evening.C.in the afternoon .D.at different hours.14.What does the underlined word “it” in the third paragraph refer to?A.Family.B.Energy cycle.C.Good habit.D.Change. 15.If the finding is true, it’s best to________.A.do your work at the energy peak.B.manage to control your temper.C.work at the bottom of energy cycle.D.manage to keep you clean all day.Teens have a busy morning schedule as they need to wake up and get moving very early in order to catch a bus and get to school by the required time. This means teens need to get their rest the night before or they will be too tired to learn anything at school. 16 When a teen falls asleep in class, two things happen: he/she misses what is being taught and he/she loses the respect for the teacher.He/She may also receive a consequence from the school, depending on the classroom discipline policy. 17To prevent your teen from being sleepy in class, try these three tips:*Set a time for "lights out" on school nights. This is never be any later than 10 p.m. and preferably 9 p.m. 18 Soft music can be on and used to help calm your teen.*Help your teen develop a night-time routine that involves activities that slow them down for the end of the day. 19 Turning off the computer and disconnecting from friends and the excitement of the day an hour before bedtime will also help your teen relax.* 20 This will reinforce(增强)what it feels like to be rested and capable of accomplishing what he/she wants.A.Taking a bath and reading are two activities that work well.B.What's worse, they may even fall asleep in class.C.All of these things affect your teen's academic success and can be avoided.D."Lights out" means the computer, television, lights and cell phone should be off.E.While your teen keeps his/her goals in line with your expectations,he/she may have his/her own goals.F.Set a good example and show him/her your love for learning.G.Point out the positives after your teen has had a good night's rest.二、完形填空“A bird with a broken wing will never fly high.” I’m sure that John would agree with this saying, as he felt this way almost every day in school.By high school, John was the most famous 21 in his town. 给外国友人介绍北京的作文英语100词写信
给外国友人介绍北京的作文英语100词写信全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Dear Emma,How are you? I'm so excited to tell you about my hometown, Beijing! It's the capital city of China and one of the most amazing places in the world. Let me take you on a little tour.First up, the Forbidden City! This was the imperial palace where emperors from the Ming and Qing dynasties lived and ruled from. It's massive, with 9,999 rooms! Can you imagine having that many bedrooms? I got a little lost just walking through the different halls and courtyards. The architecture is so beautiful and intricate, with yellow glazed roof tiles, red walls, and elaborate carvings of dragons everywhere.Speaking of dragons, did you know the Chinese associate them with power and good luck? You'll see dragon statues and motifs all over Beijing. My favorite is definitely the huge dragon sculpture outside the National Museum! Its body coils around this gigantic pillar, with its mouth wide open. Someday I want tolearn more about the myths and legends behind these mythical creatures. The next stop has to be Tiananmen Square. It's one of the largest public squares in the world! Standing in the middle, you feel so tiny compared to the Great Hall of the People and that famous portrait of Chairman Mao hanging on the Tiananmen Gate. Every morning, locals come here to do tai chi and dance. Maybe I'll join them when I'm older! From there, we can stroll right into Jingshan Park. It's got these awesome views overlooking the Forbidden City roof tops and bell towers. The paths wind through beautiful gardens and pavilions where you can stop for a snack. My favorite part is the hilltop lookout - on a clear day, you can see allll the way to the mountains outside the city! There's still so much I haven't covered, like the Summer Palace, Lama Temple, hutongs...Beijing has something for everyone. The mix of ancient heritage and modern buzz makes it such a fascinating place. I feel so lucky to call this city my home. You simply have to come visit sometime! I'll be your personal tour guide and we can experience all the sights, sounds and flavors together. Just let me know when you're free.Your friend,[Your Name]篇2Dear Jenny,Hi! How are you? I'm so excited to tell you all about the amazing city of Beijing where I live. It's the capital of China and one of the biggest cities in the world!First, let me tell you about some of the incredible historic sites we have here. The Forbidden City is a massive palace complex that used to be home to Chinese emperors. It has nearly 1,000 buildings and sprawling gardens. I went on a field trip there and it felt like stepping back in time! Another must-see is the Great Wall of China. It's an enormous wall built a really, really long time ago to protect China from invaders. You can actually walk along portions of it. How cool is that?Beijing also has some wonderful parks and temples. The Summer Palace is a beautiful garden with lakes, bridges, and pavilions. The Temple of Heaven is an intricate series of religious buildings where emperors used to make offerings. My favorite part is the iconic round temple with the bright blue tiled roof.Speaking of colors, you'd be amazed by all the vibrant reds, greens, and yellows used to decorate hutongs, which are the traditional neighborhood alleyways. Wandering through the hutongs makes you feel like you've gone back centuries. There are little shops, courtyard homes, and even rickshaw drivers offering rides!Beijing has so much more to offer too. There are huge parks like Beihai Park where you can rent a boat and row around the lake. Wangfujing is an awesome shopping street with little food stalls lining the roads. And we even have an ancient observatory, zoo, acrobat shows, and museums galore.I really hope you can come visit Beijing someday, Jenny! I'd love to take you on a tour of the city and show you around all the amazing sights and tastes. Just let me know when you're free and I'll start planning our itinerary.Your friend,[Your Name]篇3Dear Jessica,Hello from Beijing! I'm so excited to tell you all about the amazing city I live in. Beijing is the capital of China and it's huge - over 21 million people live here! That's more than the entire population of some countries. The best part about Beijing is all the incredible historical sites. Right in the center of the city is the Forbidden City. This was the palace where emperors lived hundreds of years ago. It has 9,999 rooms! Can you imagine having that many rooms in your house? The Forbidden City is made of beautiful yellow roof tiles and red walls. I went there on a field trip and got to see the throne room where the emperor sat.Another famous spot is Tiananmen Square. It's a massive plaza that can fit one million people! There are red flags with yellow stars flying everywhere. At one end is the Tiananmen Gate with a giant painting of Mao Zedong hanging above it. He was the founder of modern China. Every night at sunset, they do a flag-lowering ceremony that's really cool to watch.Speaking of Mao, you have to see the Mao Mausoleum when you visit. It's a memorial palace where Mao's body lies in a crystal casket. You have to be silent and walk in a line to view it. Some people think it's spooky but I think it's fascinating to see such an important historical figure preserved like that.Beijing has tons of beautiful parks too. My favorite is Beihai Park right in the city. There's a huge lake called the Beihai in the middle where you can rent little boats to row around. Scattered across the park are gorgeous temples and pavilions with colorful roofs. People fly kites, have picnics, and do tai chi there. The atmosphere is so peaceful and relaxing.Another fun place is Wangfujing Street. It's a busy pedestrian shopping area lined with neon signs and stores selling stuff like silk robes, jade carvings, and Chinese snacks. The snack street is my favorite part - you can get delicious treats like candied hawthorn, sugar candies, and scorpion skewers (yes, real scorpions!). It's always bustling with people and activity.Wow, I've rambled on for so long and there's still so much more to tell you! Beijing is an incredible mix of modern and ancient. Skyscrapers tower over centuries-old temples. Fancy shopping malls butt up against hutong neighborhoods with courtyard homes. You'll see people in business suits and people in traditional dress all in the same place.I can't wait for you to visit so I can show you around in person. Beijing has so much delicious food, fascinating culture, and amazing history to experience. Just be prepared to walk...A LOT! Everything is so spread out here. But that's all part of theadventure. Let me know when you can come - I'm ready to be your tour guide!Miss you and can't wait to see you!Hugs,[Your Name]篇4Dear James,How are you? I'm so excited to tell you all about Beijing, the amazing capital city of China where I live! It's such an incredible place with a rich history and culture that goes back thousands of years.First off, Beijing is absolutely massive with over 21 million people living here. The city center is made up of narrow ancient hutong alleys that have existed since the 13th century. My favorite hutong is Nanluoguxiang with its cute little shops, tea houses, and street food stalls. You have to try the jianbing, which is a crispy crepe filled with eggs, chicken, and sauces - it's delicious! In the heart of Beijing lies the Forbidden City, the former imperial palace of China's emperors. It's a jaw-dropping complexof nearly 1000 buildings with bright yellow glazed tile roofs. The intricately carved wooden pillars and thrones inside are incredible to see up close. Just north of the Forbidden City is Jingshan Park, an artificial hill made from the soil dug out to create the palace moat. You can climb to the top for panoramic views across the Forbidden City's roof tops.Another must-see sight is the Great Wall of China which winds through the mountains near Beijing. We visited the Badaling section which has been beautifully restored. Even though it was a tough uphill climb, the views from walking along the ancient watchtowers high up on the wall were breathtaking. Did you know the entire Great Wall is over 13,000 miles long? That's about halfway around the entire planet! You'd also love the Summer Palace, a vast ensemble of lakes, gardens, and pavilions that used to serve as an imperial retreat from Beijing's summer heat. My favorite part was the Marble Boat that sits on Kunming Lake - it's a huge carved stone "boat" that you can go inside and explore. The bright painted wooden Long Corridor that winds for over half a mile around the lake is beautiful too.Beijing isn't just about historical sights though - it's a modern, bustling city too. Have you heard of the Beijing 2008Summer Olympics? The iconic Bird's Nest stadium still stands as a symbol of that event. And the futuristic Wangjing SOHO skyscrapers look like they're straight out of a sci-fi movie! No trip to Beijing is complete without seeing a performance of the classic Peking Opera with its bright costumes and stylized singing and choreography. The acting is fascinating to watch even if you don't understand the storylines. And of course, you have to sample world-famous Chinese cuisines like Peking duck, dumplings, noodles, hot pot, and so much more. There are delicious options everywhere from street stalls to fancy restaurants.I really hope you can come visit Beijing sometime soon! I'd love to be your tour guide and show you around all the best spots. The history, architecture, food, and culture here are just so incredible. Let me know if you have any other questions!Your friend,[Your name]篇5Dear Jessica,How are you? I'm so excited to tell you all about the amazing city I live in - Beijing! It's the capital of China and one of the biggest cities in the world. There's so much to see and do here, I don't even know where to begin!Let me start by telling you about some of the incredible historic sites we have. The first one that comes to mind is the Forbidden City. It used to be the palace for emperors during the Ming and Qing dynasties, which were a really long time ago! The Forbidden City is absolutely massive, with 9,999 rooms. Can you imagine living in a place that big? I got to go there on a field trip last year and it was mind-blowing. All the buildings are made of wood and have beautiful decorations like dragons and phoenixes carved into them. My favorite part was the Imperial Garden - it has rocks from all over China that are supposedly 300 million years old!Another cool historic place is the Summer Palace. It's this enormous garden and lake area where the emperors used to go to beat the Beijing summer heat. There are marble boats, temples, bridges, and my favorite - the Long Corridor, which is a covered walkway that goes on for almost a kilometer! The whole palace is painted all sorts of bright colors and the details are just stunning.Enough about old stuff though - Beijing today is a vibrant, modern city too. We have awesome parks like Beihai Park right in the city center. It has a big lake where you can rent boats, beautiful gardens, and even an island in the middle. My friends and I love riding our bikes around the park and getting ice cream or fresh jianbing (a type of crepe) from the street vendors. The food here is out of this world! You've probably had Chinese food where you live, but it tastes so much better in Beijing. Some of my favorite dishes are jiaozi (dumplings), mapo tofu, zhajiangmian (noodles with a savory sauce), and of course, Peking duck. The duck is roasted until the skin is crispy and served with little pancakes, sauce, and veggie strips. It's heavenly! For snacks, you have to try tanghulu (candied haws on a stick), jianbing, and luosifen (crazy delicious rice noodle soup). I'm getting hungry just thinking about it all!As for activities, I love going to The Place - it's a massive shopping area with restaurants, movies, shops, you name it. My friends and I spend hours there just hanging out and having fun. We also have incredible museums here like the National Museum of China where you can learn all about Chinese history and culture. And don't even get me started on all the themed parks and cool neighborhoods to explore!Beijing is famous for its hutongs too. Hutongs are the old alleyways and courtyard homes where people used to live. More and more of them are being preserved now as the city modernizes. It's crazy to walk down these little alleys and see traditional homes and shops mixed in with modern businesses. The contrast is so cool.I could go on forever, but I'm running out of space! Beijing really is an incredible blend of ancient heritage and modern global city. The mix of cultures, food, activities, and sights is unlike anywhere else. You simply have to come visit me here sometime! Let me know if you have any other questions.Talk soon!Your friend,[Your name]篇6Dear Anna,Hi! How are you? I'm so excited to tell you all about the amazing city I live in - Beijing, the capital of China! Get ready for an adventure because there is so much to share.Beijing is a massive, bustling city with over 21 million people. The streets are always crowded and buzzing with energy. Everywhere you look there are tall skyscrapers towering overhead and people zipping by on bicycles, cars, buses and subways. The traffic can be crazy, but that's part of the fun!One of my favorite parts of Beijing is all the incredible historical sites. The Forbidden City is a massive palace complex right in the heart of the city. It used to be where the emperors lived long ago. With over 9,000 rooms, you could spend days exploring the beautiful architecture and gardens. I also love going to the Summer Palace, which has the coolest big lake, bridges, temples and corridors. It's like being transported back in time!Speaking of ancient buildings, the Great Wall of China is just outside of Beijing. We took a field trip there last year to hike along the famous stone pathway snaking over the mountains. Some parts were really steep and tough to climb, but the views were just breathtaking. The Great Wall is one of the man-made wonders of the world that you can actually walk on!Another awesome part of Beijing is all the delicious food. My favorite dishes are dumplings, Peking duck, and jiaozi (kind of like dumplings but shaped differently). The smells wafting fromthe street food stalls and restaurants are just mouth-watering. You'll have to be brave to try some of the unusual ingredients and seasonings though - things like century eggs, chicken feet, and lots of spices. But it's all part of the yummy experience!Beijing is a city that celebrates its culture in so many vibrant ways. During Chinese New Year the streets come alive with incredible decorations, fireworks, dragon dances, and traditional performances. People exchange red envelopes filled with money for good luck. The festivities last for weeks and are just spectacular. I also love going to the parks to fly kites, which is a beloved pastime here. With so much to see and do, you'll never have a dull moment in Beijing! From tasting amazing cuisine to exploring ancient wonders and experiencing colorful festivals, this city captures the heart and soul of China. I feel so lucky to call Beijing my home. You simply have to come visit me sometime so I can show you around in person! Let me know if you have any other questions.Your friend,[Your Name]。
