Our eating habits are very important for good health and a strong body . There are times when most of us would have sweets and ice-cream rather than eat meat and rice . Sweets and
ice-cream are not bad for the stomach if we eat at the end of a meal . If we eat before a meal , they may take away our appetite . It is important for us to eat our meal at the same time each day . When we feel angry , It is a sign that our body needs food . When we feel angry or excited, we may not want to eat . A long time ago ,in England ,some judges used to decide whether a man was telling the truth by giving him some dry bread . If the man could not swallow the bread , it was a sign that he was not telling the truth . He was telling lies . Although this seems very strange and rather foolish , it is indeed an excellent way of finding out the truth . A man who is worrying about something has difficulty in swallowing anything dry . Because he is worrying ,he loses his appetite and does not want to eat .

Passage B
A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: “I am blind, please help.” There were only a few coins in t he hat.
A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.
Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked: “Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you wri te?”
The man said: “I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way.”
What he had written was: “Today is a beautiful day but I cannot see it.”
Do you think the first sign and the second sign were saying the same thing?
Of course both signs told people the boy was blind. But the first sign simply told people to help by putting some money in the hat. The second sign told people that they were able to enjoy the day, but the boy could not enjoy it because he was blind.
The first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign reminded people they were lucky that they were not blind.
There are at least two lessons we can learn from this simple story.
