Monica: Well, I actually had the weirdest conversation with Joey. Joey hasn’t had this much trouble getting out words since we saw him in Macbeth!Monica: (groans) That was a long night.Chandler: All right, let’s break this down. What exactly did he say to you?Monica: Okay, he was talking about rules.Chandler: Uh-huh.Monica: Umm, and looking at people differently.Chandler: He didn’t say anything about that to me.Monica: What did he tell you?Chandler: He was asking all these questions about you, me, and London. And, of course the glue that holds this all together, the rules. Monica: Okay. So you, me and London. Looking at people differently. Maybe he wants to do what you and I did in London with someone. Chandler: But what did he mean by rules?Monica: Wait a minute! He stopped talking the minute Phoebe came in! Chandler: Because he was looking at her differently.Monica: And Phoebe is his friend, so he thinks that would be breaking the rules!Chandler: My God! He wants to do it with Phoebe in London! Phoebe: (from outside the bathroom) You guys?Monica: Just a minute! (To Chandler) That’s Mrs. Tribbiani! Chandler: You don’t say anything.Monica: Why would I say anything? That two of our best friends could start the greatest love affair of their lives! And they would have me to thank, and we could all start having babies?Chandler: I’m not going to let you say anything.Monica: You just stay here! (Dumps a jar of bath salts in the bathtub) Chandler: Oh, God!(Monica runs out to Phoebe, who is in the kitchen)Phoebe: Oh, hey, Monica, I brought back your iron.Monica: Oh, you had that?Phoebe: Uh-huh.Monica: I thought I lost it. I got a new one, like, a month ago. Phoebe: Oh, just as well, I broke this one.(Monica starts smiling)Phoebe: What?Monica: Nothing.Phoebe: Okay.Monica: I mean, I-I, I really shouldn’t say. I mean, I’m really not supposed to.Phoebe: Fine.Monica: It’s a humdinger!Phoebe: Then it’s really too bad that you can’t tell me. Monica: Somebody likes you!Phoebe: (Groans) Is it Chandler?Monica: No!Phoebe: Well, then tell him to stop staring!Monica: It’s Joey!Phoebe: Really?! Joey?! You don’t say.Monica: Is it something you’d be interested in?Phoebe: I don’t know, I don’t know, I don’t know. You know, I mean, on the one hand, Mother may I? But y’know on the other hand… No. No, I c an’t. We’re friends. No, oh, no. I don’t want to risk what we have.Monica: I gu ess that makes sense. So, you think you’re going to talk to him?Phoebe: Sure, yeah. I mean, it’s Joey. I don’t want him to get hurt. Well, I must say, I am on fire! First Chandler, now Joey! Monica: Not Chandler, just Joey.Phoebe: Sure.Commercial Break[Scene: Central perk, Ross is sitting on the chair as Rachel walks in.]Rachel: Hey.Ross: Hey.Rachel: You know what? I’ve been thinking about it. I’m really coming around on the name Ruth. I think I would actually consider naming our child that.Ross: Rach, I-I can’t tell you how-how much that means to me! Ohh… Wait a minute. Wait a minute. You-you hated the name Ruth! Why-why would you change your mind? Unless, you know we’r e never going to have to use it. You did see the folder. You know it’s a boy! Rachel: I didn’t see anything! I actually changed my mind about the name.Ross: I don’t think so! You’re just giving me Ruth so you’ll get to name it when it’s a boy, and that’s when you’ll swoop in and name him Heath or Blaine or Sequoia.Rachel: I would—Sequoia?Ross: Veto.Rachel: Fine.Ross: Unless… (Rachel groans.)You anticipated that I would figure all this out and you know that it actually is a girl, and you really do want her to be named Ruth! Well, I’m not falling for that! Okay? Ruth is off the table!Rachel: But Ross, you want the name Ruth!Ross: Not like this![Scene: Rachel and Joey’s, Joey is sitting on his recliner as Phoebe enters.]Phoebe: Hey.Joey: Hey. Well, w hat’s up?Phoebe: Umm, Joey, I know. Joey? Joey: What?Phoebe: I knooow.Joey: Whaaat?Phoebe: I know about your feelings.Joey: Oh my God. You do?Phoebe: Yes, and I’m sorry. I-I know things worked out for Chandler and Monica, but that’s very rare.Joey: I know. I know. And this is so much more complicated than it was for those guys. I mean, it’s Rachel for God sakes.Phoebe: For God sakes, it’s Rachel!Joey: I know. I know. And she’s not only my friend; she’s my pregnant friend! She’s my pregnant friend who’s Ross’ ex!Phoebe: Yeah that’s Rachel. (To herself) Beat me over the head with it.Joey: What am I going to do? You know, and I keep, I keep trying to get rid of these feelings, y’know? I stayed up all last night and made a list of everything I don’t like ab out her. You want to hear it?Phoebe: Yeah.Joey: She made me switch to light Mayo. That’s it! That’s all I got! And, you know what? It tastes the same and my pants fit better! Phoebe: Joey, I just think you’re getting worked up over nothing. This is probably just a crush.Joey: You think?Phoebe: Absolutely! Y’know, you get this rush of feelings, but then it goes away.Joey: Yeah, just a crush! That’s all this is! It’s a crush! I’m Joey; I don’t get deep feelings.Phoebe: That’s right, there you go! Crushe s happen all the time! I know I’ve had them for all you guys. Well, except for Ross and Ch andler. And I’m sure you’ve had them for us.Joey: Not really.Phoebe: Mm-hmm. years ago but never did Maybe our old wounds teach us somethingThey remind us where we’ve beenAnd what we overcomeThey teach us lessons about what to avoid in the futureThat’s we like to thinkBut that’s not the way it is, is it?Something we need just have to learn over and over and over again Grey’s Anatomy——Season3 Episode 19Surgeons always have plansWhere to cut, where to claim, where to stitchBut, even with the best plansComplications came ariseThings can go wrongAnd suddenly, they are collapse with your plans downThe thing about the plan isThey can’t take into account—the unexpectedSo when we are through the thunderboltWhether inside the OR or in lifeWe have to do improviseOf course, some of us are better editor than othersSome of us just have to move on to plan BAnd make the best of itAnd sometimesWhat we wantIs exactly what we needBut sometimesSometimes what we need is a new planpatient’s history is as important as their symptomsIt will help us to decide if a heart burn is a heart attackIf a headache is a tumorSometimes patients will try to rewrite their own historiesStill declare they don’t smoke or forget to mention certain drugs Which in surgery, can be the kiss of deathWe can ignore all we wantBut our history, eventually always comes back to hunt usSome people believe that, without history, our lives amount to nothing At some point, we all have to chooseDo we fall back what we know?Or, do we step forward to something new? It’s hard not to be hunted by our pastOur history is what shapes us, what guides usOur history resurfaces time after time after timeSo we have to rememberSometimes the most important history,is the history we are making todayGrey’s A natomy——Season3 Episode 20A patient’s history is as important as their symptomsIt will become surgeonsAnd we will do anything to get thereSuffer rekil ler’s exams,Endure 100-hour weeksStand for hours on the operating roomsYou name it, we’ll do itThe tough part though is reconciling this huge thing we want to be surgeons with everything else we wantToo often, the thing you want most is the one thing you can’t haveDesire leaves us heart-brokenIt wears us outDesire can rack your lifeBut is tough as wanting something can beThe people who suffered mostAre those who don’t know what they wantGrey’s Anatomy EP322-323The dream is this, that will finally be happy when we reach our goals Find the guy, finish our internshipThat’s the dream, then we get thereAnd if we are human, we will immediately start dreaming something else Because if this is the dreamThen we like to wake upAt some point, maybe we accept the dream has become a nightmare We tell ourselves the reality is betterWe convince ourselves it’s better than we never dream at allBut the strongest of us, the most determined of usWe hold on to the dreamOr we find ourselves face to the fresh dream we never consideredWe awake to find ourselves against all along, feeling hopefulAnd if we are lucky, we realizeAnd the face of everything, and the face of lifeThe true dream, is being able to dream at all401In the practice of medicine, change is inevitableNew surgical techniques are createdProcedures are updatedLevels of expertise increaseInnovation is everythingNothing remains the same for longWe either adapt to changeOr we get left behindChange, we don’t like it, we fear itBut we can’t stop it from comingWe either adapt to changeOr we left behindIt hurts to growAnybody tells you it doesn’t, he’s lyingAnd here’s the truthSometimes, the more things change, the more dissuade thing And sometimes, oh, sometimes change is good Sometimes, change is everything402In the hospital, we see addiction everydayIt’s shocking how many kinds of addiction existIt would be too easy if there is just drugs and glus and cigarettesI think the hardest part of kicking the habit is belonging to kick itI mean we get addicted for reason, right?Often, too often, things that start out are just as a normal part of your life At some point, cross the line, too obsessive, compulsive, out of control It’s the high we are chasing, the high that make everything else fade away The thing about addiction is that never ends wellBecause eventually, whenever it is that was getting us high,Stops feeling good and starts to hurtStill, they say you don’t kick the happen until you hit the block bottomBut how do you know when you were there?Because no matter how badly a thing was hurting us,Sometimes letting it go hurts even worse403Doctors give patients a number of thingsWe give them medicine; we give them adviceAnd most of the time,We give them our undivided attentionBut by far, the hardest thing you can give the patients is the truthThe truth is hard, the truth is awkward, and very often the truth hurtsI mean people say they want the truth, but do they really? The truth is painful; nobody wants to hear itEspecially when it’s hit close to homeSometimes, we tell the truth, because the truth is all we have to giveSometimes, we tell the truth, because we need to say it aloud to really hear from ourselvesAnd sometimes, we tell the truth, because we can’t help ourselvesWe tell them, because we owe them at least that much404In life, only one thing is certain, apart from death and taxesNo matter how hard you tryNo matter how good your intention isYou are going to make mistakesYou are going to hurt peopleYou are going to get hurtAnd if you ever want to recoverThere is really only one thing you can sayWell, I forgive youForgive and forgerThat’s what they sayIt’s a good advice but not very practicalWhen someone hurts us, we want to hurt them backWhen someone arounds us , we want to be rightWithout forgiveness, old scores are never settledOld wounds never healAnd the most we can hope for,Is that one dayWe will be lucky enough to forget405There is reasons surgeons learn to use scalpelsWe like to pretend we are hard cold scientistsWe like to pretend we are fearlessBut the truth is, we become surgeons because somewhere deep downWe think we can cut away that which chars usWeakness, frailty, deathIsn’t just surgeons,The truth is I don’t know anyone who is unconcerned something, or someone And whether we try to slice the pain away with scalpelOr shut it in the back of the closetOur efforts usually failSo the only way we clear up the pain is to turn a new pageOr put the old story to restFinally, finally to rest406There is this thing about being a surgeonMaybe it’s pride, or maybe it’s just about being toughBut real surgeon never admits they need help unless absolutely necessary Surgeons don’t need to ask for help, because they are tougher than that Surgeons are cowboys, rough around the edges, hardcoreAt least, that’s what they want you to thinkDeep down, everyone wants to believe they can be hardcoreBut being hardcore isn’t just about being toughIt’s about acceptanceYou don’t have to be tough every minute of every dayIt’s ok to let down your guardIn fact, there are moments when it’s the best thing you can possibly doAs long as you choose your moments wisely407Before we were doctors, we are med studentsWhich meant we spent lot of time studying chemistryOrgan chemistry, biochemistry, we learned it allBut when you talk about human chemistryOnly one thing mattersEither if you got itOr you don’tChemistryEither if you got itOr you don’t408There comes the point to your life,When you officially as an adultSuddenly, you are old enough to vote, drink and engage in other adu lt activitiesSuddenly, people expect you to be responsibleSerious a grown-upWe get taller, we get older, but do we ever really grow up?In some ways, we grow upWe have families, we get married, divorcedBut for the most part, we still have the same problem that we did when we were fifteenNo matter how much we grow taller, grow olderWe are still forever stumblingForever wonderingForever young409We go into medicine because we want to save livesWe go into medicine because we want to be goodWe go into medicine for the rush, for the high, for the rideBut what we remember at the end of most days are the lossesWhat we lay awake at night we playing isThe pain we cost, or the fail to cure, or the life we move indoor and fail to saveSo the experience and practice in medicine rarest our most goalExperience too often is ass backwards, and upside downChief: That’s the job, look at me, this day, this day you feel helpless, this day makes all those other days when you fight to save lives and you lose, this day makes you grateful you have a chance to do anything at all, you take it in.410At the end of the day, the experience of practicing medicine bears the littlest resembles to the dreamWe go into medicine because we want to save livesWe go into medicine because we want to do goodWe go into medicine for the rush, for the high, for the rideBut what we remember at the end of most days are the lossesWhat we lay awake at night repraying isThe pain we cost, or the ill we couldn’t cure, the lives we ruin or fail to saveThe end of the day, the reality is noting like we hopeThe reality is, at the end of the day, law often than not turned inside out, and upside down Some days, the whole world seems upside downAnd then, somehow, improbably, and when you at least expected,The world drives itself again。

Doctors give patients a number of things We give them medicine we give them advice And most of the timeWe give them our undivided attentionBut by far the hardest thing you can give the patients is the truth The truth is hard the truth is awkward and very often the truth hurts I mean people say they want the truth but do they really医生提供给病人很多东西我们给与他们药物还有建议而大部分时间我们给於他们专心的观察但目前最难给与病人的是真相真相很现实真相很难说出口而且经常真相很伤人我认为人们说他们需要真相但他们真的需要吗The truth is painful nobody wants to hear it Especially when its hit close to home Sometimes we tell the truth because the truth is all we have to give Sometimes we tell the truth because we need to say it aloud to really hear from ourselves And sometimes we tell the truth because we cant help ourselves We tell them because we owe them at least that much事实是令人痛苦的内心深处没有人想听特别是与家事有关的有时候我们讲真话因为我们能给与的只有事实而已有时我们讲真话是因为我们需要大声说出来让自己听见有时我们讲真话仅仅是因为情不自禁有时我们讲真话因为这是我们最起码的责任◆实习医生格蕾第四季第四集In life only one thing is certain apart from death and taxes No matterhow hard you try No matter how good your intention is You are going to make mistakes You are going to hurt people You are going to get hurt And if you ever want to recover There is really only one thing you can say Well I forgive you人生中只有一件事情是确定的除了死亡和税款无论你多么努力的尝试无论你的目的多么纯良你总是会犯错误你会伤害他人你也会被伤害如果你还想好起来的话事实上你所能说的只有一句话我原谅你Forgive and forget Thats what they say Its a good advice but not very practical When someone hurts us we want to hurt them back When someone arounds us we want to be rightWithout forgiveness old scores are never settled Old wounds never heal And the most we can hope forIs that one day We will be lucky enough to forget原谅与遗忘就像他们所说的这是一个很好的建议但是并不总可行当有人伤害到我们的时候我们想要反击回去当有人误会我们时我们想要做对的事情没有原谅旧账难清旧伤难愈而我们期待最多的是某天我们很幸运的能做到遗忘Even good marriages failOne minute youre standing on soild groung The next minute youre notAnd theres always two versionsYours and theirs Both versions start the same way though both start with two people failing in love神仙眷侣也会劳燕分飞刚刚还耳鬓厮磨转眼间形同陌路男女双方各有说法你们的和他们的不过两种说法都有相同的起因皆因两人坠入爱河Do you have what it takes If your marriage is in trouble can you weather the storm W hen the ground gives way and your world collapses Maybe you just need to have faith And trust that you can survive this together Maybe you just need to hold on tight And no matter what Dont let other side of the country In those days it was called family troubles Today itd be called kidnappin You think that true love is the only thing that can crush your heart The thing that will take your life and light it up or destroy it Then you become a mother你以为只有真爱才会让你心动到心碎你把全部生命都交给它让它点亮你的人生或是毁掉你的未来但是从此你便成为了一个母亲You work you study you prepare months and years leading to one day The day when you step up The day when you step down我们工作着学习着准备着月复一月年复一年只为了那一天晋升的那一天下台的那一天Sometimes it happens in an instant We step up we become a leader We se a path forward We see a path and we take it Even when we have no idea where were going有时他发生在转瞬之间我们晋升我们成为领导前途似锦我们看到前路便踏上旅程即使全然不知路通向何方There are distinct differences between male and female brains Female brains have a larger hippocampus which usually makes them better at retention and memory Male brains have a bigger parietal cortex which helps when fending off an attack Male brains confront challenges differently than female brains Wamen are hardwired to communicate with language detail Empathy Men not so muchIt doesnt mean that were any less capable of emotion We can talk about our feelings Its just that most of the time wed really rather not男性和女性大脑存在一些显著的差异女性大脑拥有更大的海马区因此她们拥有更强的记忆力男性大脑拥有更广阔的顶叶皮层这有利于他们抵御攻击面对挑战男性大脑的反应和女性截然不同女人们天生就擅长用语言交流用各种细节交谈各种移情而男人们不太擅长但这不意味着我们在感情方面有缺陷我们也会倾诉我们的情感只是绝大多数时候我们真的不愿说出来Be a man People say it all the time But what does that even mean Is it about strengthIs it about sacrifice Is it about winning Maybe its simpler than that You have to know when not to man up Sometimes it takes a realman to set his ego aside admit defeat And simply start all over again The human body is designed to compensate for loss It adapts so it no longer needs the thing it cant have But sometimes a loss is too great and the body cant compensate on its own Thats when surgeons get involved Were so hopeful at the beginning of things It seeike theres only a world to be gained Not lost They say the inability to accept loss is a form of insanity Its probably true But sometimes Its the only way to stay alive As babies we were easy One cry meant you were hungry Another you were tried Its only as adults that we become difficult We start to hide our feelings put up walls It gets to the point where we never really know how anyone thinks or feels Without meaning to we become masters of

Marion: You hear that, baby?Santa Claus is bringing you a new heart for Christmas. Justin: Tell the fat-ass to give it to someone else.I don’t want it.Marion: I’m sorry, Dr. Burke. He’s tired today.Justin: I’m tired every day. I hate Christmas every day.I’d rather not have another stupid operation.Burke: Justin, I know surgery can be frightening, but you need this heart. You’ve worn out your last one.Christina: His last one?Burke: Justin had a heart transplant as a baby, but his heart hasn’t aged as well as he has.You understand that, Justin?Your heart can’t keep up with you anymore. You need a new one.Justin: I don’t care. I don’t want it.Burke: Can you tell me why not?

Even good marriages fail. One minute you’re standing on soild groung, The next minute you’re not.And there’s always two versions.Yours and theirs. Both versions start the same way, though both start with two people failing in love.

Do you have what it takes? If your marriage is in trouble, can you weather the storm? W hen the ground gives way, and your world collapses, Maybe you just need to have faith, And trust that you can survive this together. Maybe you just need to hold on tight. And no matter what, Don’t let go.S08E02片头我母亲离开我父亲的时候,她没有提前知会他,也没有说把我也带走了,直到我们到了另一个地方才通知他。

When my mother left my father, she didn’t tell him she was leaving, and taking me with her, until we’d landed on the other side of the country. In those days, it was called family troubles.

You think that true love is the only thing that can crush your heart The thing that will take your life, and light it up or destroy it. Then you become a mother.

You work, you study, you prepare, months and years leading to one day, The day when you step up. The day when you step down.

Sometimes it happens in an instant. We step up, we become a leader. We se a path forward. We see a path, and we take it. Even when we have no idea where we’re going.S08E04片头男性和女性大脑存在一些显著的差异,女性大脑拥有更大的海马区,因此,她们拥有更强的记忆力。

There are distinct differences between male and female brains. Female brains have a larger hippocampus, which usually makes them better at retention and memory. Male brains have a bigger parietal cortex, which helps when fending off an attack. Male brains confront challenges differently than female brains. Wamen are hardwired to communicate with language, detail, Empathy, Men, not so much.It doesn’t mean that we’re any less capable of emotion. We can talk about our feelings, It’s just that most of the time we’d really rather not.

Be a man, People say it all the time But what does that even mean? Is it about strength? Is it about sacrifice? Is it about winning? Maybe it’s simpler than that. You have to know when not to man up. Sometimes it takes a real man to set his ego aside, admit defeat. And simply start all over again.S08E05片头人体天生就能修复损伤,无法拥有之时,就会渐渐适应,然附骨之毒,恐难自愈。

The human body is designed to compensate for loss,. It adapts, so it no longer needs the thing it can’t have. But sometimes a loss is too great, and the body can’t compensate on its own, That’s when surgeons get involved.

We’re so hopeful at the beginning of things. It see***ike there’s only a world to be gained. Not lost. They say the inability to accept loss is a form of insanity. It’s probably true. But sometimes, It’s the only way to stay alive.S08E06片头孩子的世界,简单明了。

As babies, we were easy. One cry meant you were hungry. Another, you were tried. It’s only as adults that we become difficult. We start to hide our feelings, put up walls. It gets to the point where we never really know how anyone thinks or feels. Without meaning to, we become masters of disguise.

It’s not always easy to speak your mind. Sometimes you need to be forced to do it. Sometimes it’s better to just keep things to yourself, though. Play dumb.S08E07

Surgeons can’t be lazy. The risks are too great. The second we stop pushing ourselves, something terrible happens, something we never see comin**

So we may not always be winners. But we’re not lazy. We take chances. We go for broke. We swing for the fences. And sometim es,yeah, we strike out. But sometimes, you get a homs run.S08E08片头假设身处手术室,正在修复腔静脉,突然间情况恶化,于是你切开缝合,突发事件手到病除。
