并熟悉该结构过去时的陈述句式和疑问句式及应答。
2.学会could表示有礼貌的请求这一用法。
能在合适的场合中,提出一些简单的请求,并对他人提出的请求予以恰当的回答。
3.学会并初步掌握打电话的一般用语。
在本单元结束时,学生应能运用所学语言,打(接)电话、简短留言、填写电话便条等。
在本单元教学中,要继续培养学生用所学英语描述过去的事情和经历的能力,运用简单的陈述句复述课文的能力。
要逐步提高对阅读速度的要求。

这句话是打电话找人时的常用语。
也可以说:Hello!May l speak to...?如果被找的人正好接电话,可以说:Speaking!我就是。
2.l’m afraid he’s out at the moment.恐怕他现在不在这里(恐怕他出去了)。
l’m afraid并非表示不确定,而是说话人要使语气委婉,其意思相当于l think。
3.Could you ask him to call me,please?你能让他给我打个电话吗?ask sb. to do sth.叫(让)某人做某事。
例如:Mum asked me to cook supper.妈妈叫我做晚饭。
call在该句中是“打电话”的意思。
4.He wanted you to ring him.他想要你给他打电话。
want sb. to do sth.想要某人做某事。
例如:Han Meimei wanted Lucy to see her parents.韩美美想要露西见她的父母。
ring him,给他打电话。
类似的用法还有:call him;give him a call等。
5.Jim,do you remember we went to work on a farm last October?吉姆,你还记得去年十月我们去农场劳动的事吗?该句是复合句,we went to work on a farm last October为宾语从句。
因主句do you remember是疑问式,故句后用问号,读时一般用升调。
6.But there were not enough people to pick them.但是没有足够的人手摘苹果。
enough在句中是形容词。
enough还可用作副词,例如:She is not tall enough to reach the apples.她不够高,够不着苹果。
(enough修饰形容词tall)7.The men and the women lifted the fruit on to the trucks.大人们把水果搬到卡车上。
on to到…上面,有时可合在一起拼写为onto。
例如:He jumped onto the horse.他跳到马背上。
但是如果on为副词,两词一定要分开使用。
例如:They drove on to the next town.他们向下一个城镇驶去。
另外,句中的fruit是集体名词,指很多苹果,用单数形式。
fruit 变为复数时,是指很多种类的水果。
例如:He likes apples,oranges and other fruits.他喜欢吃苹果、桔子和其他水果。

It’s best to do sth.最好做某事。
句中的it是形式主语,真正的主语是动词不定式短语to wear cool c lothes。
2.The way you speak.从你说话的口音猜到的。
这是一个简写的句子,全句可理解为:I guessed it from the way you speak.3.It’s very different from Australia at this time of year.在这个时节,这里的气候与澳大利亚截然不同。
be different from...与...不同。
例如:Li Lei’s answer is different from the teacher’s.李磊的答案与老师的不同。
4.The weather gets warmer,and the days get longer.天气渐渐变暖,白天逐渐变长。
get是系动词,在本句中,可理解为:渐渐变得。
系动词后可接形容词作表语。
本课中相同用法还有turn green,意为:变绿。
st year we helped them with the apple-picking.去年,我们帮助他们摘苹果了。
help...with...在…方面帮助某人。
apple-picking是个合成词,起名词的作用。
6.Which season do you like best,spring, summer,autumn or winter?春、夏、秋、冬四季中你最喜欢哪个?由于是将四个季节做比较,因此要用最高级形式。
应答用语是:I like spring(或其他某个词)best(of all).我最喜欢春季。
如果只将两个季节做比较,则使用比较级:A:Which season do you like better,spring or winter?春天和冬天你喜欢哪个季节?B:I like spring better than winter.我比较喜欢春天。
注意:以上各句中连词用or而不是and。
Unit 17 What’s the weather like today?一、教学目的与要求:通过本单元教学,使学生能运用所学语言谈论天气变化;能对天气情况(现在的和过去的)提出问题并予以正确应答。
能正确运用感叹句表示对天气过冷、过热的反应。
使学生初步掌握本单元所列名词变形容词,形容词变副词的方法,并正确运用到句子中。
二、教学要点:1.句型:1)How cold it is today!2)What a cold day!2.语法:初步学习感叹句的用法;初步接触表示原因的状语从句;初步接触构词法。

插入语指对一句话做些附加解释,通常放在句中或句末。
如放在句末,前面要加逗号。

when it’s spring in China是状语从句,说明主句it’s autumn inAustralia的时间。
