Love Is More Important Than LawBook review of My Sister’s KeeperI have never read a book and cried so hard.I have never been so drawn into fictional characters that I feel like I were them, going through all these misfortunes, ex periecing the provokng grief.My Sister’s Keepe r did it.It touches me deep to the core and leaves me thinking about it long after I have finished reading it.It’s really a tear jerker.My Sister’s Keeper,written by Picoult,is the story of a girl who sues her parents for a right to make her own medical decisions.Anna is conceived after her older sister Kate is diagnosed with leukemia.She is a perfect match for her sister,and spends her life in the hospital donating blood,marrow and whatever else her sister needs to live.And this time,she is required to give a kidney, which her mother Sara, so intent on saving Kate, does think is a big deal.However,much she loves her sister,she can’t go through with the kidney donation. she wants her chance at a normal life without round trips to the op erating room. She may be young but she’s bright and determined, and she decides to file a lawsuit against her parents for “medical emancipation.”Subsequently,it covers the life of this family during the trail.Each chapter is told from a different characher’s viewpoint,including Cambell,the self-absorbed lawyer,Julia, the court-appointed gruardian ad item and Jesse,the troubled oldest child in the family.At the climax of the story,you will be surprised to find that Anna sues her parents as a result of love for Kate.She is not really want to retrieve her rights for her body.Instead,it is Kate who asks Anna to sue her parents.She doesn’t want to continue her life on the surgery table.It’s much more than painful or distressed.She has brought her family to abnormality and grief for 13 years.She just can’t take advantage of Anna any more.Besides,her mother Sarah has made any possible effort to save her life ,whose excessively love makes her stressful .When this truth comes to light,however,Anna encounters a deadly car accident.Though having won the lawsuit ,the dying Anna is transplanted her kidney to Kate in the approval of her medical custodian Cambell.Ever after then ,the whole family is immersed in great grief .Neither of them want to lose this sunny girl,who wants to be a ballerina, an astronaut or a paleontologist.Now,she has gone forever.What impresses me most in this story is the value of the tube baby.If one is born to save another,is there anything meaningful for her to live? When Anna question “Who I am?” we know that she is growing up.She begins to question the original answer from her mother that she is a little piece of blue sky that comes into this world because she and Dad loves her so much.Now,she has his own thought,She can be a person with her own right and not just Kate’s appendant.When their father takes Anna to his workplace,Anna plays with his colleges happily , We come to realize that Anna is also a life,as well as an outgoing girl.She should has fun at shool, enjoy the sunlight on the beach,own a fantatistic childhood.She shouldn’t endure the unbearable misery in the continual donation of blood ,morrow,even kidney.For her whole life,no one isconsiderate of her own needs as an individual.In her parents’eyes,she is just the implement for prolonging her sister’s lfe.As a result,she has the right to fight for herself.She has no blame for refusing the donation of kidney.In terms of Sara, She is a great mother indeed.She has given up many valuable things,her job,her beauty,even her love.She jumps at every sliver of possibility that might cure Kate.As she said,"In my life, though, that building was on fire, one of my children was in it—and the only opportunity to save her was to send in my other child, because she was the only one who knew the way. Because of love, the desperate mother Sara bore the huge stress and never give up the hope ;because of love, the tired father Brain followed Kate's will and took her to the sea; Because of love ,the poor sister Anna ,who was born to be a perfect donor match for Kate ,endured the pain providing cord blood; because of love, Kate's brother ,who had spent most of his life being ignored in favor of ill Kate or donor Anna, silently drew out his sister's looks; because of love, Kate's boyfriend Taylor, who suffered from cancer and finally died, said: "if I didn't have cancer ,I never would found you."The film, especially Kate's mother Sara, leave me a deep impression. So the spot about Kate’s father took the family to the beach reveal that sometimes we should release love even how hard it is. Every member in Kate's family made great sacrifices, which were all due to their love for Kate. Without a happy ending, the film ended in the death of Kate. On the surface, love didn't make any difference for their destiny. However, love raised them up, love drove them to sacrifice and love made people's existence meaningful. No matter whether the miracles took place or not at the end, love made them get rid of loneliness ahead.So, I always believe that the most touching behaviors in the world are all from love, and all for love.。

But what would people say about God’s choice? She didn’t do anything wrong, but as she said, she was born to take the pain.The story started with Anna’s charge towards her mother—Sara. It is really a dilemma. On one hand, it is your most close sister, dying for your rescue, who wil probably pass away without your donation. On the other hand, its yourself. You won’t die, but you have to devote every happiness and healthy figure. You have to give upbaseball when coach told you before it could be your whole life career. and you possibly will never be in love because everybody knows how hard it is to find a prince charming who doesn’t care about a woman who is not able to be pregnant. Anna is kind of a tragedy for her birth at the first purpose is to save her sister, but as she grows, she gradually notices that she is important too.“See, unlike the rest of the free world, I didn’t get here by accident. And if your parents have you for a reason then that reason better exist. Because once it’s gone, so are you.”Anna’s statement, which appears in her narration on the first Monday, refers to the way Anna’s parents conceived her. When Anna says she ―didn’t get here by accident,‖ she means that her parents deliberately selected her, or rather the embryo that would become her, for a specific reason. They needed a genetic match to act as Kate’s donor in order to keep Kate alive, and the doctors told them that the best way to find such a match was essentially to create one. As a result, Anna was born. Anna, however, feels that her only purpose, in the eyes of her parents’ anyway, is to serve as Kate’s donor. She says t hat if your reason for existing disappears, so will you. In other words, if something were to happen and Kate were to die, Anna suggests her parents would no longer need or want her.These feelings motivate a great deal of Anna’s actions throughout the nov el. Although Anna may have filed the lawsuit at Kate’s behest, Anna still admits that having Kate die would be one of the best things that could happen to her. If that were to occur, Anna’s life would no longer depend on Kate’s, allowing Anna to live independently for the first time. Situations such as Sara forcing Anna to leave her friend’s birthday party early so she could take Anna to the hospital would no longer occur. Kate even says if she were to die Anna would be able to do all the things she ever wanted, such as going to hockey camp.The whole family were totally shocked by Anna’s decision especially Sara. For all this 14 years she lives and works for one only purpose—keep Kate alive. Right now, at the great divide, her youngest daughter refuses to donate and decides to watch Kate die unfeelingly. In fact, it was from Sara’s perspective that I learned the most, and that I questioned myself. If my young daughter, the light of my life, was threatened with death, how far would I go to save her? I don’t t hink that I honestly would have even thought up the idea of conceiving a child specifically for that purpose, but what do you do once the idea has been planted? Furthermore, it is clear that Sara loves and cherished Anna, even as she worries incessantly over Kate. True, she neglects her, but she also neglects her son, who had been born prior to the diagnosis, turning most of her attention to her sick child. And though this also made me pass judgment, it also made me wonder – would I be able to balance my attention on all my children if one were struggling through a life-long illness? How easy would it be to make small decisions that hurt the others to save the one?What this novel tells is not a simply moving and soulful story. It calls for more introspection. Like Jesse, at the time needed the attention most, were ignored. Anna, designedly birthed only to save her sister, Sara, devoted everything, life and work and love and money to fight with her daughter’s illness. Brian, as the only big man infamily, cou ldn’t solve the desperation, not even close. It is a tragedy to some extent, one irresistible disease caused the associated problem to the whole family. But the truth revealed at the end of the story astonished me a lot.“She wants to die.”This sentence said by Jesse astonished all the people on the court. Yes, it has always been Kate’s idea. Anna is not the one who is indifferent and cruel; she has always willing to devote all she can to save her sissy. She even wants to exchange her own life with Kate, let alone donating a little kidney. Giving up her health and happy life is much less important than her sister Kate. But this time, its different, Kate wants to let go, and make the family return to the calm and stability.―I'm sorry, Jesse. I'm sorry I t ook all the attention when you were the one who needed it the most. Dad. I know I took your first love from you. I only hope that one day, you get her back. Mom, you gave up everything for me. Your work, your marriage, your entire life just to fight my battles for me every single day. I'm sorry you couldn't win. It was supposed to be the other way around.‖This is the climate of whole story. every person’s hidden characteristics are exposed to me at this moment. Anna is always unselfish and love her sissy unconditionally. Jesse is still that innocent and kind boy who kept the secret for both his sisters. Kate is the angel to everybody, willing to give up her life only to bring everything back before her illness.Love exists everywhere in this family, no matter it is strong, extreme, soft, or hidden. Love is the significant element that associates everyone. I couldn’t help sobbing when I read to this part, and sighed how unconditional the love is among this miserable family.However, the end of the story broke my heart. Anna suddenly had a traffic accident, and at the last moment of her life, she determined to donate everything she can include her kidney to her sister. Against the nature, Kate totally recovered after the transplant, and leads a happy life with the whole family.I evidently hate the end of story. When giving us shock and broking hearts, the writer shows a kind of helplessness towards life. I spontaneously reflect what does Anna brings to us in her 13-year life? Does it mean the failure of the engineered life? Or does it mean all her purpose has fulfilled just because of Kate’s recovery?She brings love. Even though the story ends with Anna’s sudden death, what she brings will last long in my heart—love. It is she that fastens the whole family together. As the youngest children, Anna takes the most fatal responsibility, and always offers herself to her sister, that’s why this novel named as My S ister’s Keeper. It isn’t a happy ending, but I believe, Kate will live strongly and firmly, with Anna’s kidney, love, and faith.。

小组制作人：赵定宇 赵杰 张振明 林冲 张蒙 的那家人。那是个阳光 明媚的午后，他们一家 人正在花园里尽情享受 着惬意的时光：Jesse 和妈妈Sara在玩蹦蹦床， Kate和Anna在吹肥皂泡， 爸爸Brian则一边回味着 啤酒，一边在肥皂泡中 陷入沉思。
随着Kate病情不断恶化和Anna“维权”斗争的展开，这 暂时平静而温馨的生活如同脆弱的肥皂泡一般转瞬即逝。 隐匿已久的暗流终于翻涌而出，将一个冷峻的伦理命题摆 在了观众面前：Anna到底该不该给Kate捐肾？而这个命 题，其实根本就没有答案。
Kate——被爱守护的天使

接下来，Sara作为自己的辩护律师向Anna发问：“You know she’s sick. Why won’t you help her?” Anna矢 口否认自己拒绝捐肾是出于其他动机，一口咬定是自己不 想再做姐姐的“器官库”了。Sara近乎歇斯底里地逼迫 Anna说出隐情，而Anna的冷酷让她的脸上流露出绝望和 痛楚。就在这时，Jesse从听众席中站了出来。
电影《姐姐的守护者》改编自Jodi Picoult 的同名畅 销小说。由好莱坞明星Cameron 和Abigail Breslin主 演。该片以现实与回忆相互交错的表现手法，带观众 走进一个特殊的白血病患者家庭，经历故事始末，感 姐姐的守护者-一切都是因为爱 悟伦理悲欢。虽然这部电影对原著的结局做了很大的 改编，但他却用同样动人的方式诠释了“生命与爱” 的主题。
