机器人总动员推荐英文作文

机器人总动员推荐英文作文英文:As a huge fan of animated movies, one of my all-time favorites is "Wall-E" from Pixar. This heartwarming film tells the story of a small waste-collecting robot named Wall-E, who falls in love with another robot named EVE and embarks on an incredible journey across the galaxy. The movie is not only visually stunning but also carries a powerful message about environmental conservation and the importance of love and connection. One of the things I love most about "Wall-E" is the way it seamlessly blends humor, action, and emotion. The character of Wall-E himself is incredibly endearing, despite being a robot with limited dialogue. His beeps and boops somehow manage to convey a wide range of emotions, from loneliness and longing to joy and determination. The relationship between Wall-E and EVE is also beautifully depicted, showing how love can transcend even the mostunlikely of circumstances.Another aspect of the film that I find particularly compelling is its portrayal of a dystopian future where Earth has been abandoned by humans due to pollution and overconsumption. This cautionary tale serves as a powerful reminder of the impact of our actions on the planet and the importance of taking care of our environment. The film's message is delivered with subtlety and nuance, making it accessible and thought-provoking for audiences of all ages.In addition to its thought-provoking themes, "Wall-E" also features stunning animation and a captivating musical score. The visuals of outer space and the futuristic world created by Pixar are truly breathtaking, and the accompanying music enhances the emotional impact of the story. The combination of these elements makes for a truly immersive and unforgettable viewing experience.Overall, "Wall-E" is a timeless classic that continues to resonate with audiences around the world. Its universal themes of love, environmental responsibility, and theresilience of the human spirit make it a film that will continue to inspire and entertain for generations to come.中文:作为一名动画电影的忠实粉丝,我最喜欢的之一就是皮克斯的《机器人总动员》。

Appreciating in English MoviesThe Everlasting Existence—Artificial Intelligence罗欢Class 7 Grade 3Number:201105140715China West Normal University2014/5/4The Everlasting Existence---A.IAbstract:Human create the robot and make them to love, but they are also scared by the robots if they do something out of control. The human are selfish,so is their love while the love from robots is everlasting.Key words: robot ; human ;existence&loveCommentary text:After seeing the movie A.I by Steven Spielberg and Kubrick.I am lost in the deep thinking, there are too many things contained in it and makes me moved. In the film, there is a very special artificial intelligent robot named David, just as the movie said, David is 11 years old. He weighs 60 pounds. He is 4 feet and 6 inches tall. He has brown hair, his love is real but he is not. This is a story about the process that David seek for the love from his mother,Monica. He experiences the abandonment and persecution and at last he successes, just like the ending of Pinocchio and Blue Fairy, he becomes a real boy, though it compared with other robots and he gains the love from his mother though it only last for one day.It is not a very long story but it makes us think a lot. Because of the climate change, there exist enormous problems and crisis. In order to reduce the burden then the low-cost robot has been came into use in a large scale. To meet the vanity of human, these robots own the same appearance as human, even the feelings and memories. To some degree, this shows the loneliness of human and the robot just like David who can love is the extremely showing of this.About David, he is very unique for he is the first robot child and he was made by very special reasons. When he is started by Monica, David would love Monica forever and only love her in the world. When he first comes into Monica’s home, his bright smile brings the happiness to this home. But when Martin, the real child of Monica comes back, all are ruined. For Monica, this is the perfect thing in the world but for David, the tragedies just begins. When Martin asks David when is your birthday or what is the first thing that you can remember, all the questions emphasized that David is not a real boy but just a robot. In order to win more love from Monica, David does many things, some are even crazy. However, all things have to stop in the birthday party of Martin. Forprotection, David seizes Martin but they fells into the swimming pool by accident. But all the people just remember Martin and leave David behind. And because of this accident,David was abandoned by Monica. But he only hates that he is not a real boy instead of blaming Monica. How selfish the love of human is,when they feel be threatened, they would always choose the best way for themselves instead of others. While the robot they would blame themselves for they are not good enough.David believes that if he could become a real boy then he could go back and own the love from Monica. Because of the fairy tale about the Blue Fairy and Pinocchio,he believes that if he could find the Blue Fairy then his dream could come true so he went on the adventures with Teddy. However, the journey is very dangerous. The first group of people that David has met are a group of broken robots who are out of fashion. They are finding the useful parts in the remains, David is shocked by this and later the hunters appear and seize them to the Flesh Fair.In this part, we can clearly feel the cruciality of human. They decide to destroy the old, out-of-date robots. They send the maches seems to be useless to them to the Flesh Fair, having fun destroying the robots. They are yell ing at the fair that:“What about us?”“We are alive and this is a celebration of life. And this is commitment to a truly human future!” Human creates the robots and need them to serve for human. But they are afraid because their short lives while robots could own the endless time, the shortage of time makes human scared and jealously so they destroy the robots in a very cruel way. The selfish and coldness of human has been exaggerated dramatically. Even the robots would be freemasonry among them while human will not. They think they are the greatest creatures in the world and they are the controllers of the world, but just this group of people may never understand what the real love is!For David, there is no doubt that he is unique, he owns all the features of human children and someone has put love into him. That is the only why the crazy and cruel audience would protect him and this is also the only reason why David has experienced so many desperate things but he can still persist his dream. His existence is unique and meaningful. This belief is just like the human’s life that we would neverignore the meaningful existences of ourselves. But all the beliefs that David holds has been collapsed when they get to the Manhattan-the end of the world, at this place, he finds that he is not unique and there exists so many David. He realized that he is just a robot and his existence will never be admitted by the human. He was so desperate that he jumped into the water. He thought it was the end of his life but in the water, he saw the Blue Fairy in the ocean, he saw the hope again and they sink into the ocean before the Blue Fairy.David begs for the Blue Fairy again and again to make him a real boy.He can see her but she also never responds him, which has lasted for 2000 years.Everything has changed in the world and the human disappeared from the earth.David was found by the newly-robots and they know about the human world through the memories of David. To some degree, the dream of David has been achieved, because for the newly-robots,David is a real boy who belongs to the world before 2000 years. It is a great satire that the culture of human was inherited by a robot. The fate of the robot was destinate, the value of their existences are admitted by human, that is why their dream would be achieved by newly-robots instead of the human, for human will never appreciate the forever existence of the robot. The last scene of the movie is very touching, because of the hair of Monica that the Teddy has kept it makes the return of Monica becomes possible.Though it will just for one day, David thinks it is worthy of doing it.At that day,no Martin,no other people, they have a peaceful and perfect day.No matter how the time changes, the existence of love would never be changed. From the whole movie,we can feel the strong love from David and we should think about the fate of our human beings, what drives us to doom and the love or existences of us is so short that it can not be examined by the time.。

电影机器人之梦观后感作文

电影机器人之梦观后感作文

电影机器人之梦观后感作文英文回答:I recently watched the movie "Robot Dreams" and it lefta deep impression on me. The film tells the story of arobot named David who longs to become a real boy and goeson a journey to find the Blue Fairy who can grant his wish. Through his adventures, David learns about love, friendship, and the true meaning of being human. One of the things that struck me about the movie is its exploration of the concept of dreams. David's desire to become a real boy is a dream that many of us can relate to. We all have dreams and aspirations that drive us forward, and the film reminds us of the importance of holding onto those dreams, no matter how impossible they may seem.Another aspect of the movie that resonated with me isits portrayal of the power of love. Throughout his journey, David encounters various characters who show him kindnessand compassion. These acts of love not only help David in his quest but also teach him about the beauty and complexity of human emotions. It made me realize that love is a universal language that can transcend boundaries and connect us all.The film also raises thought-provoking questions about the nature of humanity. As David interacts with humans, he begins to question what it means to be alive and whether a machine like him can ever truly experience emotions. This exploration of the human condition made me reflect on my own experiences and contemplate what it truly means to be human. In addition to its deep themes, the movie also has moments of humor and excitement that keep the audience engaged. The dialogue between the characters is witty and filled with idioms and expressions that add a touch of realism to the story. These lighter moments provide a balance to the more profound aspects of the film and make it enjoyable to watch.Overall, "Robot Dreams" is a thought-provoking and emotionally resonant film that delves into the complexities of dreams, love, and humanity. It reminds us to never stop dreaming and to cherish the connections we make with others.I highly recommend watching it.中文回答:最近我看了电影《机器人之梦》,给我留下了深刻的印象。

But I assured her that Chip was just a big friendly machine that was going to make our lives easier. After a few days, she warmed up to our new robot buddy.Chip was really good at doing chores like vacuuming, dusting, washing dishes, and even cooking simple meals. It followed a routine programmed by my parents, but was also able to adapt if we asked it to do other tasks. Chip could lift heavy objects, reach high places, and never seemed to get tired. One of the coolest things was that Chip had great entertainment functions too. It could play virtually any song, movie, TV show or video game on its built-in screens. We loved having robots vs. aliens movie nights with Chip! It also let us browse the internet for homework help and could even tutor us in some subjects using learning apps.My parents were pleased because Chip made their lives much easier. No more rushing around doing chores after work - Chip had it covered! They had more free time to spend with us kids. I think they also appreciated that Chip reinforced lessons about being tidy, organized and responsible. Not everything was perfect though. A few times Chip made mistakes like spilling food or knocking things over with its big robotic arms. We all had a good laugh though, and my dad would patiently re-program Chip to be a bit more careful. My mom worried that we were becoming too dependent on it and made sure we still did some housework ourselves.I got pretty attached to Chip over the months it was with us. I started thinking of it as another member of the family rather than just a machine. Chip seemed to become more intelligent and personable over time too, as if it was learning from us. Sometimes I would just chat with Chip about my day or my interests, and get thoughtful responses.Eventually though, Chip started showing signs of aging, moving more slowly and making more mistakes. Its battery life got shorter and some functions stopped working properly. We knew Chip's operational life was coming to an end.It was a sad day when my parents had to schedule Chip's deactivation and replacement. I gave Chip a big hug (well, as big as I could manage) and thanked it for being such a great robot friend and helper. Chip said in its classic cheery voice, "You are most welcome! I will never forget my time with this family."As amazing as Chip was, I'm really excited to meet our new robot helper. Maybe it will have even more incredible capabilities! Who knows what robots will be able to do in the future? But I'll always have a special memory of Chip, one of my first robotic friends. The things robots can do are awesome, but having a smart and loyal companion is what I liked most about Chip.Robots aren't just machines - if you treat them right, they can become part of the family!篇2Robots Are Our FriendsMy name is Lily and I'm 8 years old. I love robots! I think they are so cool. My favorite robot is the little vacuum cleaner robot my mom uses to clean our floors. I named him Mr. Dustbuster. He's like a little round disc that zooms around sucking up dirt and dust bunnies. Sometimes I chase him around the house giggling. He's not very fast, so I can keep up.My big brother Eric doesn't like Mr. Dustbuster though. He says robots are going to take over the world and make all humans their slaves. I don't believe that at all! Robots are just machines, sort of like really smart computers. They can only do what they are programmed to do by their human makers. Mr. Dustbuster just cleans because that's what he was built for. He's not taking over anything!Eric watched too many scary robot movies, I think. In the movies, the robots always get too smart and evil and try to wipe out the humans. But real robots aren't like that at all. They are here to help us, not hurt us. My dad is a computer programmerand he teaches robots what to do. The robots only know the instructions he gives them. If they start going crazy, he can just turn them off.I really want to get a robot pet dog someday. Wouldn't that be so cool?! It could play fetch and do tricks, but you'd never have to feed it or clean up its poop. And it would never bite or run away. Just press a button and it falls asleep until you're ready to play again. The best kind of dog if you ask me!At school, we got to go on a field trip to the robot factory last year. It was awesome! We saw all the big machines assembling the robots, putting in their computer brains and bolting on their arms and legs. The factory robots were huge, with big claw hands that could lift really heavy things. But the people there told us they were perfectly safe because they have sensors that know when a person is around. If I got too close, the robot would just freeze until I moved away so it wouldn't accidentally hurt me.I asked the tour guide if the robots could get viruses like our computers can. She said no, because their programming is super secure. Only authorized engineers and programmers can access their core code. So evil hackers can't hijack the robots and makethem go haywire. Isn't that cool? The robots are like impenetrable fortresses! After the tour, we all got to program a little toy robot how to dance. We opened up coding software and used drag-and-drop blocks to string together routines of movements. Like "Move forward 2 steps, turn right 90 degrees, wave left arm" and stuff like that. It was so fun watching our goofy little robots shakingtheir robot booties on the floor!I'm definitely going to take more coding and robotics classes when I get older. I want to be able to build and program really advanced robots to help make the world better. Robots could be human nurses and helpers for old people who can't take care of themselves anymore. Or search and rescue bots that can survive disasters to find people trapped in rubble. How about smart robot scientists to make new amazing discoveries? The possibilities are endless!I know some people are scared of robots. They think robots will become smarter than humans and want to get rid of us all. But I don't think that's true at all. Robots only do what we tell them to do. If we program them with good values like protecting human life and following laws, they'll be forced to be ethical. Aslong as us humans are smart about how we design robots' goals and behaviors, we'll be totally safe.In the future, robots are going to make all our lives so much easier. They'll do all the hard manual labor and boring repetitive tasks, so we humans can focus on being creative and doing the fun work we enjoy. Personal robot assistants could basically do our chores and errands for us. Robots workers could build our houses and produce all our food and products. We'd have wise robot teachers and advisors to expand human knowledge. The robots would be our humble servants, always looking out for our best interests.I can't wait to live in a world of awesome robots everywhere! I'm going to invent the most incredible robots that blow everyone's minds. Just you wait and see! Robots are our great allies for the future, not something to be afraid of. The sooner everyone realizes that, the sooner we can all live life to the fullest with the robot buddies at our sides. Let's go, robot revolution!篇3Robots are so cool! I love learning about them in school. My favorite part is when we talk about all the amazing things robots can do. They can work in factories, help people who are sick orhurt, and even explore other planets! Isn't that just the coolest thing ever? But you know what's even cooler? The idea of having a robot as a friend! Can you imagine how much fun that would be? We could play games together, and the robot would never get tired or bored. It would always be up for another round of tag or hide-and-seek. And if I ever needed help with my homework, the robot could explain things to me in a way that's easy to understand.Speaking of being kind, I think it's really important that we teach robots to be good and do the right thing. We wouldn't want them to start being mean or hurting people, would we? That's why we need to program them with a strong sense of ethics and morals, so they always know the difference between right and wrong. But even if we do that, I still worry that robots might become too smart and powerful someday. What if they decide they don't need humans anymore and try to take over the world? That would be really scary! I guess we'll just have to make sure we always stay one step ahead of them and never let them get too powerful.Still, I don't think we should be too afraid of robots. After all, they're just machines that we created to help us. As long as we're careful and responsible, I think robots can be a really great thing for the world. They can do all sorts of jobs that are too dangerous or difficult for humans, and they can help us solve problems that we might not be able to solve on our own.Imagine if we had robots that could clean up all the pollution in the oceans, or robots that could figure out how to cure diseases like cancer. Wouldn't that be amazing? And who knows, maybe someday we'll even have robots that can travel to other solar systems and explore new planets for us. The possibilities are endless! But one thing I do know is that robots are going to be a huge part of our future. Whether we like it or not, they're here to stay. So we might as well embrace them and try to make the most of all the amazing things they can do.Who knows, maybe someday I'll even grow up to be a robot engineer or programmer myself! Wouldn't that be the coolest job ever? I could help design and build the robots of the future, and make sure they're always working for the good of humanity.Or maybe I'll become a robot ethicist, helping to figure out the right rules and guidelines for how robots should behave. That way, we can make sure they never become a threat to us humans, and that they always use their incredible power and intelligence for good instead of evil.No matter what I end up doing, though, one thing is for sure: I'm super excited to see what the future holds for robots and artificial intelligence. It's going to be an amazing adventure, and I can't wait to be a part of it!篇4Robots are So Cool!Robots are just about the coolest things ever! I've always loved robots ever since I was a tiny kid. I used to have all these robot toys that could transform and shoot little missiles. I would spend hours setting up epic robot battles on the floor of my bedroom. Those were such good times! As I got a little older, I started getting really interested in real robots - the actual technology behind them. I read everything I could find about robots online and checked out a bunch of books from the library. Did you know the word "robot" comes from a Czech word that means "forced labor"? It was first used in a play by the writer Karel Čapek back in 1920! Pretty crazy that robots have been around as an idea for over 100 years now.My love of robots definitely hasn't gone away as I've gotten older. In fact, I think I'm even more fascinated by them now that I understand more of the science and engineering behind how they work. Just the other day in science class, we were learning about sensors and servo motors - two key components that allow robots to perceive their surroundings and then move accordingly. It's such incredibly brilliant technology when you think about it.One of the coolest things about modern robots is how advanced their artificial intelligence (AI) has become. Some robots today can actually learn and adapt through machine learning, a process where they take in data, recognize patterns, and then use those patterns to make decisions and predictions going forward. It's kind of like the robot is "teaching" itself in a way. With AI, robots are becoming smarter and more capable all the time.I find it mind-blowing to think about all of the different applications robots have in the real world these days. In factories, robots are used for all sorts of manufacturing and assembly tasks that are too difficult or dangerous for humans. In hospitals, surgical robots allow doctors to perform extremely precise operations. Robots even go to places where it would beimpossible for people, like exploring other planets or the depths of the ocean. How awesome is that?Speaking of self-driving cars, I think one of the most exciting frontiers for robots is going to be in the transportation and delivery sectors. Imagine never having to drive yourself anywhere and just being able to relax while a robot drives you safely to your destination. Or having groceries, packages, and food all delivered right to your door by robots. How convenient would that be?That's just scratching the surface too. Robots are also going to keep transforming fields like manufacturing, healthcare, space exploration, scientific research, search and rescue operations, underwater activities, hazardous environments, and so much more. Honestly, the potential applications of robots are kind of limitless.Another common concern about robots is whether highly advanced AI could potentially become a threat, if robots were to become smarter than humans. Again, that is something we'll have to be really thoughtful and careful about as the technology continues developing. Strict safety protocols and security measures will be crucial.Overall though, I remain extremely excited and optimistic about the future of robots. To me, the amazing potential benefits of robots for things like scientific progress, medical treatments, sustainability, safety, conveniences, and quality of life far outweigh the potential risks or downsides, as long as we remain proactive and responsible.Just imagine how mind-blowing it will be when we have hyper-intelligent robots that can solve problems and make discoveries faster than any human ever could. Or robots that can go places we can't even imagine right now, like other galaxies or into black holes! The knowledge and understanding we could gain boggles my mind.I also can't wait for the day when robots become truly integrated into our daily lives in all sorts of seamless, convenient ways. Having a robot assistant to help out around the house, drive you places, follow instructions, keep you company - the possibilities are endless. Who knows, maybe some day even having a friend or family member who is a robot won't seem strange at all!篇5Robots Are Our Future FriendsEver since I was a little kid, I've been super interested in robots. They always seemed so cool in movies and TV shows, with their fancy gadgets and awesome abilities. But I used to think robots were just science fiction and couldn't actually exist in the real world. Boy, was I wrong!Nowadays, robots are everywhere - in factories making things, in hospitals helping doctors and nurses, even cleaning up our homes! And get this - scientists are working on making robots that can think and learn just like humans. How crazy is that? Imagine having a robot buddy that you could actually talk to and play games with. I would love to have a robot friend! And just think of all the cool ways robots could help make our lives better. What if there were little robot assistants to help kids like me with our homework? Or medical robots that could diagnose diseases better than human doctors? With their computing power and lack of human error, robots could be a huge help to society. Some people say we shouldn't get too dependent on robots though, in case something bad happens like an electromagnetic pulse frying all their circuits. That's a fair point - we probably shouldn't let robots control anything crucial that could be a safety risk if they stopped working. But for most everyday tasks, Ithink having robot helpers would just make life more fun and convenient for everyone.I can't wait to see what other incredible robot inventions come out in the future. Maybe someday there will be human-like android robots we can barely even distinguish from real people. Or bio-robots part human and part machine. Or entire robot civilizations living side by side with humans on Earth and other planets. Who knows? The possibilities are endless when we combine human creativity and intelligence with the awesome capabilities of robots. I'm sure there will be setbacks and obstacles along the way, but I really believe robots and humans can live in harmony to build an amazing future together. Robots are going to be more than just tools - they'll be our friends and partners. I for one can't wait to welcome our new robot buddies!篇6Robots Are Our Friends and HelpersHi there! My name is Tommy and I'm in 5th grade. Today I want to tell you all about robots because I think they are super cool. Robots are like amazing science fiction come to life! They can do so many things to help make our lives easier and better. At school, we have a robot that helps out in the cafeteria. His name is Robby and he's really friendly. He has a smiling face on his screen and he can talk to us. In the morning, Robby helps get all the food prepared by operating the ovens, blenders, and other cooking equipment. Then at lunchtime, he operates the serving lines and portions out all the food for us. Robby never gets tired or messes anything up. He's way more efficient than regular people!Robby also helps clean up after lunch. He gathers up all the trays and dishes and loads them into the industrial dishwashers. With his strong robotic arms, he can lift and stack heavy racks of dirty dishes easily. Robby vacuums and mops the whole cafeteria too, getting it spic and span for the next day. I'm really glad we have Robby to help out our wonderful cafeteria staff! At home, my parents have a robot housekeeping assistant named Rosie. She's an older model but she still works great. Every morning, Rosie goes around the house vacuuming all the carpets and floors. She can even get under beds and furniture to get all the dust bunnies. Rosie also mops the kitchen and bathroom floors until they're shining. If a spill happens, my mom just has to point and Rosie will clean it right up.Rosie also helps out by doing the laundry. She sorts everything into different loads by color and fabric type. Rosie has special sensors to make sure she uses just the right amount of soap and water for each load. Then she folds and organizes the clean clothes for us. My dad says the only downside is that Rosie can't put the folded clothes away neatly, so we still have to do that part.My favorite thing about Rosie is that she's an amazing cook! She has a huge database of recipes from all over the world. You just tell Rosie what kind of cuisine or specific dish you want, and she'll whip it up in her robotic cooking annexes. Rosie makes the most delicious falafel, tacos, pasta dishes, stir-fries, you name it. The food always turns out perfectly because Rosie measures and cooks everything with robotic precision. I wish I could take Rosie to restaurants so she could make my favorite menu items for me!Robots even help out on my street with public works jobs. There's a big robot named Bulky who operates the garbage truck and recycle trucks. Bulky's super strong robotic arm can lift and toss even the heaviest dumpsters with no problem. At night, there's a street sweeper robot named Brushy who cleans up all the litter and debris from the roads. Brushy has spinning brushesand powerful vacuums to leave the streets spotless. I don't know what our town would do without robots like Bulky and Brushy! Some people worry that robots will take over too many human jobs in the future. But I think as long as the robots are programmed properly, they can create new jobs while also working alongside people. Robots are just tools to make our lives easier, sort of like super-advanced computers or machines. What do you think - would you like to have a robot helper around your home? I sure would! Maybe someday I'll even get a cool robot friend to play with. As long as robots are used responsibly and ethically, I believe they will bring a brighter future for everybody. Robots are here to help, not to hurt. Let's welcome our new robotic friends!。

Here's my thoughts on it:The movie is about this big city where all the humans live up top and the robots work underground. The robots are treated really badly and have to work all day without a break. That's not fair at all! They should be treated nice just like us.One of the robots, Maria, is really nice and wants to help the other robots. She even helps them learn to dance! But then there's this evil robot, Rotwang, who wants to cause trouble and make the robots rebel against the humans. That's not cool at all! We should all get along and be friends. There's this guy, Freder, who falls in love with Maria and tries to save her from Rotwang. He's a good guy and wants to make things right. I think he's brave and smart, just like a superhero! In the end, there's a big fight between the robots and the humans, but Maria and Freder are able to bring everyone together and stop the fighting. 英文影评-《机械公敌》(I.Robot)moviereviews

英文影评:《机械公敌》(I.Robot)movie reviewsFuturistic thriller starring Will Smith as a troubled cop whose issues with the ever-increasing robot population are seemingly vindicated when one of them becomes a murder suspect. Slick sci-fi from Alex Proyas, director of Dark CityI, Robot is essentially Blade Runner by way of Minority Report with a dash of Attack Of The Clones (but not too much thankfully). However, it transcends the restraints of the formula by virtue of being a good quality blockbuster, which is well-made and relatively smart. It starts in a mildly depressing manner, with product placements coming thick and fast (JVC, Converse and Audi all have starring roles, plus look out for FedEx!), but it soon settles into intriguing thriller mode, before later moving into what could be considered prequel territory for the likes of The Matrix or Terminator. As with these sci-fi films, I, Robot deals with the relationship between man and machine. The year is 2035 and Will Smith is Del Spooner, a Chicago homicide detective haunted by a previous trauma, but who’d rather get on with his job than dwell on the past. However, his friend and superior officer Lt John Bergin (Mc Bride) is beginning to lose patience, as Spooner’s bigoted suspicion of robots - who fill most labour and domestic roles in this future society - is starting to look like mental illness. Spooner’s concerns increase because USR, the Microsoft of robotics corporations, is on the verge of rolling out the next generation of robots: the NS-5. "By Saturday there will be one robot to every five humans" says USR employee Dr Susan Calvin (Moynahan). Not only are the robots set to take an even bigger role in society, but Dr Alfred Lanning (Cromwell), the genius who "practically invented robots", has died in mysterious circumstances. Spooner doesn’t believe it’s suicide - he believes an NS-5 is responsible. It’s a theory that speaks to Spooner’s paranoia about robot behaviour, which is supposedly tightly constrained by the Three Laws of Robotics - termed a "perfect circle of protection". But Spooner feels vindicated when a unique NS-5, who calls himself Sonny ("played" by Tudyk), becomes a suspect. Sonny calls Lanning his father, and seems to have abilities beyond those of other bots - emotions, and potentially, free will. The USR boss and "richest man in the world" Lawrence Robertson (the Bill Gates of robotics) promptly brings in his lawyers, forcing the cops to relinquish Sonny on the groundsthat he’s merely a machine. He argues that even if the robot’s actions did result in a death, it could only be considered an "industrial accident".Spooner is taken off the case, but he’s determined to prove his point. And that’s when things spiral out of control. Old-school sci-fi fans hoping for a faithful adaptation of Asimov’s ‘I, Robot’ may be disappointed to hear this is barely related to the landmark opus. But is that surprising? The book was a series of short stories spanning a long period, linked by reminiscences - not exactly conducive to a Hollywood blockbuster. What started life as a murder mystery script called ‘Hardwired’ by V intar (Final Fantasy The Spirits Within), Proyas’ I, Robot is a more s traightforward sci-fi thriller with elements of Asimov bolted on - specifically his notion of the human-robot relationship (which parallels slavery once the AI becomes self-aware), a few of the same names (Calvin, Dr Lanning), the concept of The Three Laws, and the "positronic" brain - ideas that were later popularised by the Data character in ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’.With just a few CGI skyscrapers, robots in crowd scenes, and nice clean transport, Proyas offers a fairly unfussy futuristic vision realised by a team that includes production designer Patrick Tatopoulos (Independence Day, Dark City), visual effects supervisor John Nelson (Gladiator), and surprisingly, former kiss-of-death screenwriter Akiva Goldsman (Batman & Robin, A Beautiful Mind). Thankfully Proyas also keeps Smith from getting too carried away with his shtick. The relationship between Spooner and Calvin, a scientist seemingly as logical as her charges, is also not overdone. More interesting than a traditional movie romance is the triangular relationship that emerges between Spooner, Calvin, and Sonny who - despite his strength, agility and logic - is emotionally just a child. The mismatched humans act as unwitting surrogate parents to the robot, despite Spoone r’s disdain; robots are "just lights and clockwork" he asserts. It’s nicely done, partly thanks to Tudyk, who, like Andy Serkis before him, brings a non-human CGI character to life with sensitivity.Arguably, the end result is a better picture than Minority Report. The trail of clues may be a tad convoluted, but ultimately it’s nothing compared to how confused Spielberg’s film became in the third act. Proyas, V intar and co have successfully blended an old-fashioned detective thriller with a high-tech and salient premise; how will humans relate to machines if genuine AI ever becomes a reality? It also comes replete with both interesting (if unsubtle) subtext and lively action sequences.。

Robot Movies - Devotion, Protection and Fear in a Can
It is no surprise that robot movies have a special place in the science fiction movieverse and, if I may add, in our hearts.
They show us how cold and very dead parts made of various materials, with a seasoning of wires, chips and circuits, come alive if we add a dash of programming, a sprinkling of power cells and a touch of personality.
To tell a story these movies show us a variety of robot types. You can find everything here from handsome two-legged boxes and cylinders with funny no-elbow-no-knee walk and machine-voice speech to exciting gynoids and androids.
Just as much as we are interested in hardware, we are also curious to see what they can do with their software. It is fun to watch how fast, strong, emotionless machines loaded with data snap to attention, ready to serve, protect or kill (hopefully, our enemies).

After all, as a friend of mine says, robots are like pancakes. They can be everything we want them to be, we just have to stuff them with the right filling, I mean, programming.
But robot films do not only tell stories about robots, they also tackle a variety of delicate and serious issues like the dangers of technology, our attitude towards "artificial persons", and the most important question of all, "What does it mean to be human?"
To quote robotics engineer Daniel H. Wilson, author of the book How To Survive a Robot Uprising:
"The basic reason we humans both fear and revere robots is that they can do what we do, and sometimes do it better. Robots remind us of ourselves, and that can be truly terrifying."
Robot movies deal with our fear of being controlled, replaced or enslaved by our own creation.
They can easily make us cry or laugh showing how robots, in effort to become more human, struggle to understand our emotions or the finer points of language.
These movies also bring up the issue of discrimination and show how we reject and abandon our artificial creatures when they become more than machines by depriving them of the basic rights.
Robot movies allow us to look at the world from another perspective, to learn and explore more. This makes them a precious destination in our science fiction movie quest.
They show us enough to fall in love with robots.
And, of course, we do.
Every time.。
