八年级英语（上）单元辅导材料与巩固练习（Unit Two）一、重点词汇：（1）housework 家务劳动；家务事。

不可数名词，没有复数形式。

短语：do (the) housework 做家务。

（2）hard及hardly：①hard 作形容词，意为“困难的；艰苦的”，通常放于名词前修饰名词作定语，或者放于连系动词后面作表语；此外，它也用作副词，意为“努力地；刻苦地；猛烈地”，通常放于实义动词后修饰实义动词作状语。

如：1) He works hard only before exams. 他只在考试前努力学习。

(adv.)2) It is raining very hard. 天正在下大雨。

(adv.)3) This question is very hard. 这个问题很难。

(adj.)②hardly = almost not，只用作副词，其意思是“几乎不”，通常用于肯定陈述句中，表示否定概念。

短语：hardly ever 几乎从不。

如：1) He can hardly speak English. 他不太会说英语。

2) Peter is hardly ever late. 彼得几乎不迟到。

（3）maybe及may be：两者都可以用来表示猜测，意思是“可能”。

用法区别：①maybe adv. 或许；大概；可能。

通常放于句首作状语；②may be，情态动词may及动词原形be构成的短语，通常放于主语后面作谓语动词，意为“可能是……”。

③两者可互改为同义句。

如：1) he is from France.同义句：2) Jim at home.同义句：（4）percent 名词，意为“百分之……”，无复数形式。

英语百分数的表示法：基数词+【注意】百分数修饰名词的结构是：基数词+ percent + of (+ the) + 名词。

此结构作主语时，谓语动词的数要根据其后面的名词来确定。

如：①Fifty percent of the apples (be) bad. 50%的苹果坏了。

②Twenty percent of the meat (be) in the fridge. 20%的肉都在冰箱。

（5）although conj.（从属连词，）意为“尽管；虽然；即使”，同义词是though，用来连接表示让步的状语从句。

放于句首时后面要加上逗号与主句分开。

如：①We went fishing although it was cold. 尽管天气很冷，但是我们还是去钓鱼了。

= Although it was cold, we went fishing.【注意】although/though引导的让步状语从句不能与转折连词but连用。

即表示让步的状语从句前用了although后，表示转折的并列句前不能再用but。

反之亦然。

如：②尽管他离家很早，但是他还是迟到了。

Although he left home early, but he was late. (×)Although he left home early, he was late. (√)He left home early, but he was late. (√)③it was very late, they still went on working outside.④It was very late, they still went on working outside.（6）cross, across, pass, past及through：这五个单词都有“通过，经过”的意思。

区别：①cross是动词，可单独在句中用作谓语动词，意思是“横过，越过”，通常指从物体的表面上经过，即从物体表面的一端到另一端；②across是介词，在句中必须与行为动词walk/go等连用，意思也是“横过，越过”，通常指从物体的表面上经过，即从物体表面的一端到另一端，walk/go across = cross；③pass是动词，可单独在句中用作谓语动词，意思是“经过，通过；穿过；越过；超过”，通常指从物体的旁边经过；④past是介词，在句中必须与行为动词walk/go等连用，意思也是“经过，通过；穿过；越过；超过”，通常指从物体的旁边经过，walk/go past = pass；⑤through是介词，在句中必须与行为动词walk/go等连用，意思是“穿过”，通常指从物体的中间穿过。

如：1) Jim ran Tom and won (赢得) the race (赛跑).2) Jim Tom and won (赢得) the race (赛跑).3) The river goes the city.4) Go the bridge and you can see the post office.5) the bridge and you can see the post office.（7）sometimes, sometime, some times, some time的用法：①sometimes 是一个频率副词，意为“有时”，与一般现在时的谓语动词连用，表示动作/状态的频率；②sometime是一个时间副词，意为“在某个时候，通常后面要跟具体的将来/过去时间，表示在将来/过去的某个不定的时间；③some times是一个可数名词短语，意为“几次”，表示次数；④some time是一个不可数名词短语，意为“一段时间”，表示一段时间，通常与for连用。

如：1) They go hiking in the mountains. 他们有时徒步旅行到山里去。

2) I will stay here for . 我会在这儿呆些时候的。

3) I will meet your father next week.我下个星期某个时候要见见你的父亲。

4) I went there last year. 我去年去过那里几次。

（8）so, such：①so，副词，意为“如此；这样”，通常用来修饰形容词或副词，结构为：so + 形容词/副词；②such，形容词，意为“如此的；这样的”，通常用来修饰名词，结构为：such (+ a/an) + 名词。

如：1) I am happy to see you again. 再次见到你我很高兴。

2) I have never seen a good movie before. 我以前从没看过这么好看的电影。

（9）for example与such as的区别：两者都用来列举例子，意思都是“例如”。

区别：①for example作插入语，放于例子前，后面有逗号与例子分开，一般只举同类人或物中的“一个”为例，与例子一起可放于句首、句中、句尾；②such as用于例子前，后面没逗号，常列举同类人或物中的几个例子，但不能列完，与例子一起放于句中。

如：1) I like many sports, football, basketball, badminton , Ping-Pong and so on. 我喜欢很多运动，像足球，篮球，羽毛球，乒乓球，等等。

2) Some children like junk food, , they often hamburgers for lunch. 有些孩子喜欢垃圾食品，例如，他们午餐常吃汉堡。

3) China has many big cities, Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and so on. 中国有许多大城市，比如北京、上海、深圳等等。

（10）however与but：两者都有“然而，但是”的意思。

用法区别：①but是一个并列连词，通常放于所引出的转折分句之前，后面直接跟句子，不使用逗号，所连接的两个分句通常一个是肯定句，另一个是否定句，转折的意味较强；②however是一个转折副词，可以放于句首、句中、句末，通常要用逗号与其前面、后面的句子分开。

如：1) Jane has a lot of good habits, , she has some bad habits, too.2) Jane has a lots of good habits, Tom doesn’t.（11）other, others, the other, the others, another：别的，其他的①other pron. & adj.另外的人（物）；其他的。

在句子中，它通常只用作形容词，既可以修饰单数名词，其前必须有the, any等限定词。

也可修饰复数名词，与the/some/many等连用。

②others pron.别的东西；别的人；其他的东西。

在句子中，它通常只用作代词，指代三个以上的人或物体中，除去某一个（些）外所剩下中的一部分，与some other + 复数名词同义。

③the other 另一个（的）。

在句子中，既可单独使用作代词，表示单数概念，常特指两个当中的另一个；也可用作形容词，既可以修饰单数名词，表示单数概念，常特指两个当中的另一个，即the other = the other + 单数名词；也可以修饰复数名词，指代三个以上的人或物体中，除去某一个（些）外所剩下全部。

④the others 其他的，其余的。

在句子中，只用作代词，指代三个以上的人或物体中，除去某一个（些）外所剩下全部，即the others = the other + 复数名词。

⑤another adj. & pron.又一的，再一的（另一个）。

常指不定数目（三个或三个以上）中的另一个，是an与other两个词的融合，表示单数概念，既可作形容词修饰单数名词，也可作代词单独使用。

如：1) I don’t like this one. Would you please show me ? 我不喜欢这个，你可以给我看看别的吗2) He has two daughters. One is a nurse, is a worker.3) Some of us like singing and dancing, like sports.4) I don’t like this one. Please show me .5) This is one of your socks.
