Have a good command of the ways of talking about different transportation.

The ways to get to places: take the subway; ride a bike; walk;
take the bus; take the train.

ⅰ. Greetings
Good morning, class.
ⅱ. Presentation
⒈Get the students to talk about the picture in the book, centering on the following questions:
What can you see in the picture?
Are there a school in the picture?
How do the students go to school in the picture?
What about you?
⒉Ask the students to do the 1a exercise according to their obsersation. Meanwhile, the teacher walks around the class and helps some students who are difficult with the exercise.
ⅲ. Practice
Based on the presentation work above, the students are familiar with the topic: how to get to some places. Now the students can do the listening part.
Pre-listening:
①Ask the students to familiarize the picture, knowing that the students in the picture get to school in different ways
②Help the students to understand the listening task: Listen and write the
numbers to the correct students in the picture above. 1. Bob 2. Mary 3. Paul
4. Yang Lan
5. John
While-listening:
In the process of listening, the focus is developing the students’ skill of listening for specific information. In this listening practice, the students need to be developed to listen to “who” gets to school “in what way ( this information has been given in the picture)” specifically.
Post-listening:
①Discuss the answers to the questions with the students.
②Play the tape again and pause where the correct answer is, with the purpose of developing the students’ awareness of listening for specifice information.
ⅳ. Production
After presentation work and listening practice, the students have got enough information input. Now the students come to the stage of oral production.
①Make conversations in pairs about how the students get to school according to
the picture.
②Act out the converstions, paying atttention to pronunciation, intonation and
tones while acting.
ⅴ. Homework
Make a survey about how the classmates usually get to school and write three sentences, like I go to school by bike. as your homework.
