Movie Review of The Lion King
My name is Tommy and I'm 10 years old. I just saw the movie The Lion King and I have to tell you all about it! It was the best movie ever!
The movie is about a little lion cub named Simba. At the beginning, Simba's dad Mufasa is the king of the Pride Lands. Mufasa is huge and has an awesome roar that can be heard for
miles. He's really wise and brave too. Simba looks up to his dad and wants to be just like him when he grows up.
Simba has kind of a goofy uncle named Scar who is really jealous that Mufasa is the king instead of him. Scar is mean and comes up with a plan to get rid of Mufasa and Simba so he can become king. I don't want to spoil too much, but his plan works for a little while and Simba has to run away from the Pride Lands into the jungle.
While Simba is in the jungle, he meets up with a meerkat named Timon and a warthog named Pumbaa. They take Simba under their wing and teach him their "Hakuna Matata" way of life which basically means you don't worry about anything. Timon and Pumbaa are so funny, especially Pumbaa passing gas all the time! They had me laughing so hard.
Simba grows up in the jungle with Timon and Pumbaa. He's happy living the "Hakuna Matata" lifestyle at first. But then his childhood friend Nala finds him and tells him he has to go back to the Pride Lands to take his rightful place as king. Simba has some big choices to make!
I don't want to give away the ending, but there are some really cool fight scenes between Simba and Scar. The wildebeest stampede earlier in the movie was intense too! The movie has
some sad parts but also a lot of laughs thanks to Timon and Pumbaa's antics. And the music is great - I've had the "Hakuna Matata" song stuck in my head for days!
My favorite characters were definitely Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa. Simba is brave and loyal. Timon and Pumbaa are just hilarious buddies who always look on the bright side of life. I also really liked Rafiki the monkey - he's so wise but in a funny way.
