2)beat v. 敲打；打败
beat(beat，beaten) 作不及物动词，意为“敲打；(多次或连续)撞击，拍打；(心脏、脉搏等)跳动”。

beat作及物动词，意为“打；敲；打败”。

eg：The rain is beating heavily against the window. 雨在猛击窗户。

Jennifer's heart was beating fast. 珍妮弗的心跳得很快。

Who's beating the drum? 谁在敲鼓?
We beat them by 10:4. 我们以10比4打败了他们。

3)against prep. 倚；碰；撞
against在此处作介词，意为“碰；撞”。

eg：The child knocked his head against the tree.那孩子把头撞在树上。

against作介词，还可意为“倚着，靠着”。

eg：The worker put the ladder against the wall.工人把梯子靠在墙上。

4)辨析：sleepy, asleep, sleep与sleeping

辨析:rise与raise
