To make Chinese-style cakes, you will need the
following ingredients: cake flour, sugar, eggs, milk, and vegetable oil. Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Next, sift the cake flour into a mixing bowl
and add in the sugar. Mix the dry ingredients together
until they are well blended.
Separate the egg yolks from the egg whites and add the yolks to the dry ingredients. Mix the yolks into the dry ingredients until they form a thick paste. Add in the milk and vegetable oil and mix everything together until the batter is smooth.
In a separate mixing bowl, beat the egg whites until they are stiff. Gently fold the egg whites into the batter, being careful not to overmix. Pour the batter into a greased cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Once the cake is finished baking, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before removing it from the pan. Serve the cake warm or at room temperature with a cup of tea.
