Book Report on The Tale of Two Cities The book which I have read is A Tale of Two Cities,whose writer is Charles Dic kens.Charles Dickens is the famous English writer who born in1812.Because of the urgency of life,he ever dropped out of school to become child labor when he is a teen ager,and he also worked in Law firm and Newspaper office when he grew up.He also has other works except A Tale of Two Cities.For example,David Copperfield,Oliver Twist,Hard Times,Great Expectations and so on.The book of mine was published in Nanjing Yilin Publishing House in2016.It's the First edition,Its main argument is to use the historical experience of the French Revolution as a wake-up call to the British rulers.Its idea is to fully promote the humanitarian thought and express its condemnat ion of the violent revolutionary attitude under the guidance of revenge.
A Tale of Two Cities is divided into three sections.The theme of the first part is R ecalled to Life,the second part called The Golden Thread,and the third is The Track of a Storm.The first part telling the society of Britain and France in extreme confusio n.Cruncher sent a letter to Lorry,and then Lorry helped Lucie find and rescue Doctor Manette.It can be seen that Lorry is an economically intelligent and moral person,an d Lucie is a kind and gentle girl.Meanwhile,it expressed the brutal rule of the nobles, and the great suffering of the people.The second part wrote Charles Darnay was fram ed and jailed,Sydney Carton helped him defend and succeed.Then,Marquis Evremo nde runs down a plebeian child with his carriage and Darnay accused him and gave up the identity of the nobleman.After Darnay left,Marquis Evremonde was assassinated by"Jacques".Darnay married Lucie and confessed his identity to Doctor Manette.At this point,the revolutionaries represented by Madame Defarge are secretly brewing th e revenge.In1789,the French Revolution broke out,and Paris was put in prison and wrote to Darnay,who set out to France in spite of his personal safety.From this part,i
t can be seen that the noble and brave and honest in Darnay,Carton's apparent idlenes s and he was not pursued,as opposed to Darnay,Darnay's sincere love with Lucie,Do ctor Manette's merciful and loving father.The brutal rule of the aristocrats over the ci vilian population aroused radical resistance against the civilian population.In that last part,Darnay arrived in France and was arrested,and Manette saved him with his infl uence in the revolutionaries,but Defarge and his wife charged Darnay,he was arreste d again,and Carton came to Paris and planned to save Darnay,But Defarge took out t he letter about the reasons for Manette's detention at Darnay's trial.Darnay was senten ced to death.At that night,Carton swindled with him to replace the death penalty in D arnay.Madame Defarge came to Lucie's place to make Lucie and their children execut e when Darnay,Lucie,their children and Doctor Manette left Paris,in her scuffle with Miss Pross,she accidentally shot herself.Finally,Carton was taken to the guillotine. From this part can see Carton deeply loved Lucie that makes Carton become a exalted man and even surpass Darnay.Madame Defarge was cruel and ruthless.From the oth er side,It reflects that in the class struggle,the brutality of the aristocrats forced the re venge of the people at the bottom to become distorted and radical.
In all the book,in my opinion,its character is humor satirizes without losing its t rue lyricism.For example,When the barrel fell,everyone rushed to the ground to drin k.It satirizes the aristocrats'abuse of farmers.At the same time,it is also ironic to des cribe adults serving him with four servants to drink chocolate.The author has criticize d the corrupt society of the oppressed peasants through this kind of humor and the sati rical.When Lucie first met her father,Lucie moved her father with kindness and affec tion,through her care,her father returned to normal.At the same time,in terms of Ca rton's willingness to accept the death penalty for Darnay,that also shows the writing st yle of the real lyric of the work.Meanwhile,I also think this work has a strong realisti c style and is a realistic literary work.As a whole,this work are based on the French

I think this novel is intertwined with political struggle and emotional entangleme nt.It is to the effect that a noble nobleman is in love with the daughter of a doctor wh o is persecuted by the noble.But because of the aristocracy,he was in prison,and the last sentence was sentenced to death.His last imprisonment was influenced by the resi stance of the revolutionaries of the French Revolution,and Carton changed the cold,a nd fell in love with Lucie,and went to death replace Darnay.The cruel and ruthless Madame Defarge finally died.The central view of the novel is to praise the idea of hu manitarianism,and love to triumph over hate.In the article,the revolutionary who wa s represented by Madame Defarge's brutal and merciless resistance,this is a loss of hu manitarianism.Doctor Manette's forgiveness of the family in Darney,which embodies the understanding and inclusion.Carton died in place of Darnay,this is the result of t he influence of love.This is a reflection of the humanitarian.And Madame Defarge su ffered for herself by retaliating against Lucie.This reflects the punishment for brutal a nd ruthless revenge on the revolutionaries.At the same time it expressed Charles Dick ens's promotion of love,the brutality of the nobles,and the sympathy for the dark life of the peasants.To express the sympathy of Charles Dickens for the suffering of the p oor in the real world,and his hope for a better society.。
