1）determine to do sth 下决心做某事

9. change one’s mind: 改变主意
make up one’s mind: 下决心；决定
e.g. 1）Once he has made up his mind, nothing can be done to change his mind.

Note: make up one’s mind 中的mind 是可数名词，意为“想法，主意”，单复数随one’s 变化。

而change one’s mind 中的mind只能用单数形式。
