In the eyes of the boy, going to school was a kind of punishment. He believed that he must have done something wrong, otherwise his father would not have taken him away from his mother and home, and thrown him into the huge, high-walled building.
But after getting to know other children, the boy began finding pleasure in school. He made friends with other boys and girls, fell in love with many girls and realized that school was full of this variety of experiences. More importantly, he learned many new things he didn’t know before.
However, school was not totally sweet and pleasant. Such bitter feelings as pain and hatred might occur at any moment because of the rivalries. In addition, the woman of the school would often yell and resort .to physical punishment.
With these lessons in school, he saw life as a period of struggle and perseverance which was different from the intimate life he had with his mother at home.。
