This is What Youth Should Look Like
Hey there! My name is Jake and I'm a 5th grader at Oakwood Elementary School. Today, I want to talk to you about what it really means to be a young person in today's world. The adults
are always going on about "these kids today" and how we're lazy or disrespectful or addicted to our phones. But I think they've got it all wrong. We youths of today are pretty awesome if you ask me!
First off, we're way smarter than kids used to be back in the day. With the internet and all this amazing technology, we have access to more information than any generation before us. We can learn about literally anything we want just by tapping away on our phones or tablets. History, science, coding, you name it - the knowledge is out there for us to soak up like a sponge. And we're taking advantage of it too. Sure, we might spend a bunch of time browsing memes and TikTok videos. But we're also using apps to learn new languages, watch educational videos, and explore our passions in a way kids could only dream of back then.
Speaking of passions, my generation is super passionate about the things we care about. Whether it's protecting the environment, fighting for social justice, or just following our creative hobbies, we pour our hearts into the causes and interests that matter most to us. We pick up on important issues way earlier than past generations did because we're exposed to so much through social media and the internet. I've been
recycling and turning off lights to save energy since I was in kindergarten! My friends are already activists for things like animal rights, gender equality, you name it. We feel so connected to the world and we want to make a difference.
And you know what's really cool? Our generation is finally starting to accept and embrace differences in a way that generations before failed to do. There's still bullying and prejudices, of course, because kids will be kids. But I see my peers being way more tolerant and respectful of people's races, religions, gender identities, and sexualities than adults give us credit for. The old saying is that kids are cruel, but I think us young people today are showing more empathy, compassion, and open-mindedness than ever before. We're raising the bar!
That's not to say we're perfect though. Obviously we still act immature and make dumb mistakes sometimes - we're just kids after all! We can be moody and dramatic, we go through those cringey phases, we drive our parents crazy. But whose childhood was picture perfect? The main thing is that we're trying our hardest to grow into good human beings who make the world a little bit better. We might be a work in progress, but our hearts are in the right place.
I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture. We children of today aren't just the future leaders of tomorrow. We're already out here showing what it means to be passionate, educated, open-minded, hard-working members of society who want to change the world for the better. We might still be little, but we've got big minds, big hearts, and big dreams. The grown-ups are always complaining that we're not enough of this or too much of that. But in my humble opinion, this is exactly what youth should look like in the 21st century. We're pretty awesome if you ask me!

This is How Youth Should Look
What does it mean to be a youth? I think being young means having energy, curiosity, and a spirit of adventure. It means embracing life with passion and always being ready to try new things. That's the image of youth that I have in my mind.
First and foremost, youth should be active and energetic. We are still growing and our bodies are built for movement and exercise. I can't imagine a young person who wants to just sit around all day. When I'm not in school, I love playing sports like soccer, basketball, and swimming. Moving my body makes me
feel alive and happy. Youth are explorers who discover the world through physical activities.
Secondly, youth means having an inquisitive mind that questions everything. We are still learning about how the world works. I'm always asking "Why?" about the things I observe around me. Why is the sky blue? Why do birds have feathers? Why do we celebrate holidays? An endless stream of questions pours out of a youngster. We soak up knowledge like little sponges, constantly filling our minds with new information to understand our surroundings.
Curiosity goes hand-in-hand with a sense of adventure and courage. Youth are risk-takers who love experiencing new adventures. Whether it's exploring a new park, trying an unfamiliar food, or learning a new skill, we young people crave novelty and excitement. Last summer, I went on a camping trip for the first time and got to see amazing starry skies, roast marshmallows over a fire, and sleep outdoors. It was a thrilling micro-adventure that made me feel brave.
In addition to being adventurous and curious, the image of youth includes optimism and positivity. When you're still a kid, the world seems so full of possibilities. We dream big dreams about what we'll do and become when we grow up. Maybe I'll be
an astronaut exploring other planets! Or maybe I'll be a famous musician playing concerts around the globe! The future stretches out ahead with all its potential just waiting to be seized. Youth means embracing hope and shooting for the stars.
However, youthful energy and curiosity must be balanced with respect and kindness toward others. It's easy to get so caught up in our own thoughts and experiences that we forget to consider other people's perspectives. Part of being an admirable young person is developing empathy, compassion and caring for those around us, even as we forge our own paths. By combining a sense of adventure with concern for others, we can be a real force for positive change in the world.
In conclusion, the ideal image of youth involves energy, curiosity, courage, optimism and kindness. It means being active and always trying new things. It means asking endless questions to learn about the world. It means taking risks and embracing the thrill of adventure. It means dreaming big and believing that anything is possible. And it means walking through life with an open heart and caring spirit. That's what I think it truly means to embody the vibrant spirit of youth. We young people have so much potential to make the world a better place as we immerse ourselves in all that life has to offer.

This is How a Young Person Should Be
What does it mean to be a young person in today's world? I think it means having an energy and passion for life that radiates from within. It means being curious about the world around you and always wanting to learn more. And it means staying true to yourself while showing kindness and respect towards others.
First and foremost, a young person should be enthusiastic and excited about living life to the fullest. We are at an age where the whole world is open to us, filled with possibilities to explore and experiences to gain. Why would we want to waste that by being bored or apathetic? Instead, we should embrace each day with a zest for adventure and discovery. Whether it's trying a new activity, making a new friend, or simply finding joy in our daily routines, a youthful spirit keeps us energized and engaged.
Hand-in-hand with enthusiasm should be an insatiable curiosity and desire to keep learning. The minds of the young are like sponges, ready to soak up knowledge and understand how the world works. We shouldn't be afraid to ask questions, even when the answers seem obvious to others. Questions lead to
deeper insights and open up new paths of thinking. A young person who remains endlessly curious is building the foundation for a lifetime of growth and wisdom.
At the same time, being a young person isn't just about what we take in – it's also about what we put out into the world. In my view, the ideal young person is someone who lives with integrity and treats others with compassion. We should have firm moral principles that guide our actions, refusing to compromise our values simply to fit in or gain popularity. And we should be accepting of people's differences, celebrating diversity rather than judging those who are unlike us.
Behaving with integrity also means being accountable for our choices and not making excuses for poor decisions. Young people will inevitably make mistakes as we navigate the road to adulthood. But rather than playing the blame game, we should own up to our missteps, learn from them, and use that wisdom to make better choices in the future. It's all part of the process of building strong, admirable character.
Perhaps most importantly, young people should be ambitious and driven to make their mark on this world in whatever ways they can. No dream is too big when you're young and have boundless energy to pursue it. We are the leaders,
innovators, and problem-solvers of tomorrow. By combining lofty aspirations with diligent effort, we can begin paving the way for positive change at an early age. Our idealism is a gift that shouldn't be squandered.
In the end, this is what I believe a young person should strive to be: enthusiastic, curious, principled, accountable, and ambitiously working toward an amazing future. If we all commit to embodying these qualities, just imagine how we could shape the world for the better as we blossom into adulthood. The future is what we make of it – so let's make it great!。
