Good morning ,everyone .today ,i’m here to give a presentation on canada. Last time ,there was a student talking to us about canada ,her major talking is something about some famous and attractive places in canada and characteristic foods ,so now ,the main area that i intend to cover in this presentation is the symbol of canada-maple and some unique festivals of canada . Then here comes my introduction.
As we all know ,canada is famous for maple ,and it‘s also called maple leaf state .maple tree is not only the country tree of canada ,but also the symbol of canadian nation . it is said that the maple leaf served as a symbol of Canada as early as 1700.
In 1867 Canada's confederation song The Maple Leaf Forever was written (by Alexander Muir).
The coat of arms created for Ontario and Quebec both included the maple leaf.
The maple leaf appears on the penny, on the arms of Canada and on Canada's flag (1965).
The red maple leaf is recognized around the world as a symbol of Canada.
The Aboriginal people of Canada made syrup and sugar from the sap of the sugar maple tree.
In 1996 the maple tree was officially recognized as a national emblem.
its even a important element of the maple is a symbol of canada . In fact ,canada is worthy of “maple leaf state “ reputation .according to the statistics .there are about 140 kinds of maple around the world . To my surprise .there are more than 100 kinds of maples in canada . In late autumn ,it looks like a sunset in sky .you can look it here and there ,it ‘s really attractive.

Maple is even a important element of the national flag .look this is the canadian flag ........... This is National emblem, it ‘s also consist of maple leaves ......On October 13, 2002, Canada used a unique way -- - paved the red carpet with maple leaves to welcome the queen of
England. I think it has a beauty of artistic conception.
There are many logos related to the maple leaf, in other word there are many ideas from the maple leaf .Canadians have strong maple leaf (maple) plot.They are proud of maple .and they use the maple leaf as inspiration in many ways . Such as clothes ,foods transportation and so on .
Here are some Paintings,carved on the maple leaf .i found them on the internet by chance . although i have no idea whether it originates from canada , i am absolutely attracted by them . so i can’t help sharing them with you . How do you feel ?
Then i’d like to introduce some special festivals of canada to you.they are Maple syrup festival(枫糖节）Canada tulip festival(加拿大郁金香节)Klondike Days(克伦代节又名淘金节)

About The Festival
Annually by the end of March to early April is Canada's maple syrup festival of traditional
folk festivals. Every March, maple sugar farms were put on the festive costumes, with all the taste of nature giving them sweet gift. The traditional maple syrup festival is to open for visitors from home and abroad,particularly welcome the children.
Some farms also reserved the old maple on the Indian acquisition of equipment and the production of maple syrup, used in the festival in
the ancient production methods, to show visitors the process of maple
syrup, and some tourists are still provided free of charge to the weekendTang Gao Feng and "toffee".Local residents also have enthusiasm for performing various dances and songs for the visitors and lead the tourists to enjoy the beautiful lush maple trees and leaves.
Canada tulip festival(加拿大郁金香节)It is celebrated in may every year, usually it lasts for two weeks.During the tulip festival,
there are millions of tulips different-colors flowering.
Calgary Exhibition and Stampede(卡加利牛仔竞技大赛)I t is celebrated in July. it lasts for ten days.it's the most fierce competition in the world. during it, all the city is full of people who wear jeans. they hold parties everywhere ,you can also watch many street dances.
Klondike Days(克伦代节又名淘金节)It is celebrated in July every year. during Klondike days, the city of Klondike will be held many shows to show arts and interesting things. such as street dance, fashion show and so on.。
