My Super Cool Music Journey
Hi there! My name is Jamie and I'm in 7th grade. I really, really, really want to join the awesome music club at my school. Music is just the best thing ever! I've loved singing, dancing, and playing instruments for as long as I can remember.
When I was a tiny little kid, I used to run around the house making up silly songs about everything. My parents thought it was hilarious when I sang the "Cleaning My Room" song or the "Brushing My Teeth" song. I'd bang on pots and pans like they were drums. My poor mom and dad!
In kindergarten, we had these really fun music time activities where we'd shake egg shakers and bang on little kid-sized drums. We'd march around singing nursery rhymes and silly songs about animals and colors and stuff. That's when I knew music was my true calling in life!
As soon as I started elementary school, I joined every single music group I could. I was in the chorus, the orchestra, and even
the band. For orchestra, I started out playing theting-ing triangle. But I practiced really hard and eventually moved up to the awesome alto xylophone!
In 4th grade, I added the flute to my musical skills. I took private lessons and practiced so much. My poor parents probably went a little deaf from all that squeaky beginner flute playing. But I stuck with it because I loved it so much.
Last year in 6th grade, I joined my first real band called "The Melodymakers." We played at all the school events and concerts.
I was the flute section leader and one of the lead singers. It was the best!
Music is just magical to me. When I sing and play, it's like nothing else matters. All my worries, fears, and sad thoughts just disappear. I get completely lost in the melodies and beautiful harmonies. It makes me feel happy, joyful, and free.
I love all kinds of music too - pop, rock, hip hop, country, classical, you name it. Listening to good music puts me in a great mood. But playing and performing music is a million times better than just listening. It's the best feeling ever to bring happiness to other people through music.
That's why I desperately want to join the music club. I've been looking forward to it since I was a little kid singing my crazy made-up songs. I already know I want a career involving music when I grow up - maybe as a singer, songwriter, music teacher, or all three!
The music club would allow me to play and sing a ton. We could form bands and groups to perform at events and venues in our community. Joining would give me invaluable experience in making music with others and playing in front of crowds.
I'm sure I'd learn so much from the club directors and older, more experienced student musicians too. I really want to take my skills to the highest level possible. Goals like being the lead singer in a big show or even making a professional album one day motivate me every single day.
In the music club, we could write and record our very own original songs. I have a million ideas for cool new tunes bursting in my brain! I could channel all my thoughts, emotions, and life experiences into powerful lyrics and melodies. How awesome would it be to write a song that becomes really popular and touches a lot of people?
I'm ready to put in as much time, hard work, and practice as it takes to be a music club superstar. I'll participate in every
meeting, rehearsal, and performance with my full energy and enthusiasm. Nothing would make me prouder than representing my school through music!
When I'm not working hard in the club, you can be sure I'll be writing songs, practicing my instruments, and watching music videos or concerts to learn from the pros. My passion and dedication are unstoppable!
In conclusion, I hope you can see how much I live, breathe, and cherish music. It's a part of my heart, soul, and identity. Joining the music club would truly make me one of the happiest, most fulfilled kids around. I was born to make music! Thanks for considering my application. I'll be anxiously awaiting your response. Keep on rocking!

My Super Cool Music Dream
Hi! My name is Billy and I'm a 6th grader who just started middle school this year. I really, really want to join the middle school music club because music is my biggest passion and I have a super cool dream!
Ever since I was a tiny little kid, I've loved listening to music. My parents always had the radio on at home playing all the latest
hits. I would run around the house singing along at the top of my lungs, not caring if I was off-key or forgetting the words. Music just makes me feel so happy and energized inside!
In 2nd grade, I started taking piano lessons after my parents got me a small keyboard for my birthday. At first, I'll admit I wasn't very good. My poor piano teacher, Mrs. Robinson, had to listen to me slowly plunking out "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and "Mary Had a Little Lamb" over and over again. But eventually, I got better and better and worked my way up to learning actual songs rather than just nursery rhymes.
By 3rd grade, I could play popular tunes like "Let It Go" from Frozen and "Despacito" on the piano pretty well. My parents were so proud of me and started letting me perform little recitals for our family friends who came over. I loved being up on the "stage" in our living room, showing off what I had practiced so hard to learn. Some of my friends thought it was dorky, but I didn't care. Music was my thing and I was owning it!
Then in 4th grade, everything changed when I discovered the guitar. One day, my cool older cousin Mason came over and brought his electric guitar with him. It was bright blue and he let me hold it - I felt like a total rockstar! Mason showed me how to strum a few basic chords like G, D, and E minor. From that
moment on, I begged my parents relentlessly to let me take guitar lessons. Finally, on my 10th birthday, they surprised me with my very own acoustic guitar and signed me up for weekly lessons.
At first, my fingers really hurt from pressing down on the strings. I remember crying a few times because I was getting frustrated that I couldn't perfectly play my favorite songs right away. But my guitar teacher, Mr. Dave, was really nice and kept encouraging me, saying that with practice it would get easier. And he was totally right! Within a few months, I had gotten the hang of it. I would come home from school every day, finish my homework as fast as I could, then spend hours upon hours teaching myself new songs and chords.
Now that I've started middle school, my big dream is to start a band with some of my friends who are also really into music. We could cover classic rock songs by bands like Queen, AC/DC, and The Rolling Stones. Or we could even write and record our very own original music! How cool would it be to be middle school rock stars?
I've already talked to a few of my buddies about maybe joining the music club together. Daniel plays drums, Jackson is learning bass guitar, and Samantha is an incredible singer. With
my guitar skills and songwriting abilities leading the way, I just know we could put together an awesome band and really go places. We could perform at school talent shows, record songs to put up online, and who knows - maybe we could even try out for one of those TV music competition shows for kids someday! Stranger things have happened, right?
That's why it's so incredibly important to me to be accepted into the middle school music club this year. It would give me the perfect opportunity to meet other students who love music as much as I do. We could learn from each other, collaborate on writing songs together, and maybe even form that band I've been dreaming about. The music club would provide access to a room where we could safely store our instruments and recording equipment. We could reserve practice times to work on our skills and prepare for performances. It would be the ultimate place for fostering my passion for music and taking it to the next level.
I already have so many ideas for songs I want to write and instruments I want to learn next, like the drums or bass guitar. I'm considering even trying to teach myself piano again, but this time for real so I can accompany my band mates and we don't have to use cheesy synthesized beats. The possibilities are really
endless when you've got a tight crew of musically-inclined friends by your side.
Ultimately, my big bigger-than-big dream is to pursue a career in the music industry when I'm older. Maybe I could be a professional songwriter, record producer, or even a performing artist myself someday. Getting an early start by being super involved in the music club during middle school and high school would definitely help me begin building those skills and connections. Those formative years are so important for developing your talents and figuring out what path you want to take in life. For me, I already know music is my calling - it's just waiting to be answered!
So that's why I absolutely, positively need to be accepted into the middle school music club this year. It would mean literally everything to me and is truly my biggest wish and dream right now. I promise to be the most dedicated, hardworking, and team-oriented member the club has ever had. My heart and soul belongs to music, and I'm determined to make the most of any and every opportunity to immerse myself in it. Being part of the music club would be a huge step towards making all my wildest rock star ambitions come true! Thanks for considering my
application - I'll be waiting by the phone, guitar in hand, for that fateful call letting me know if I got in. Wish me luck!

Joining the Music Club
Hi there! My name is Emma and I'm in 5th grade. I really, really, REALLY want to join the music club at my school next year when I start 6th grade. The music club is so cool! They get to sing songs, play instruments, and put on concerts. How awesome is that?
I've always loved music ever since I was a tiny little kid. My mom said when I was a baby, I would stop crying whenever she sang lullabies to me. I started taking piano lessons when I was 5 years old. At first, it was kind of hard learning how to read the notes and keep the rhythm. But my piano teacher Ms. Raynes was really nice and patient. After a while, it started to click and now I'm pretty good! I can play songs like "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and "Mary Had a Little Lamb" with no problem.
A couple years ago, I joined the elementary school choir too. Singing with all my friends is my favorite part of choir practice. We learn really fun songs like "The Wheels on the Bus" and we even did "Let It Go" from Frozen last year! My parents really
enjoyed coming to watch me perform at the holiday concert. I felt like a total star up on stage with the microphone and pretty lights. I never get nervous or stage fright because I just feel so happy when I'm singing.
Last summer, my aunt got me a guitar for my birthday. I was so excited to learn how to play a new instrument! The guitar is definitely way harder than the piano though. My fingers really hurt from pressing down the strings at first. But I've been practicing every day and I'm starting to play simple songs like "Smoke on the Water" and "Amazing Grace". I can't wait to get even better so I can play my favorite Taylor Swift songs.
In the music club, I'll get to take my musical talents to the next level. I'll learn to play advanced pieces on the piano and guitar. I'll get to be in an awesome band with other kids who love music as much as me. We'll put on the best concerts that everyone at school will want to watch. I have so many ideas for the songs we could do - like maybe some classics from The Beatles or Queen, or current hits from artists like Billie Eilish or Harry Styles. Whatever music we play, I just know it's going to sound amazing!
Being in the music club will also help me make new friends who share my interests and passion. At my school, there aren't
very many other kids who play instruments or are as obsessed with music as I am. But in the club, I'll be surrounded by other musical kids. We can share song recommendations, practice together, and encourage each other to keep improving our talents. Music is so much fun but it's even better when you can enjoy it together with others who love it too.
Another awesome thing about the music club is that we'll get to go on field trips to concerts, shows, and festivals. Can you imagine how cool it would be to see a live orchestra perform or a famous singer in concert? It would be a dream come true! I have so many artists on my bucket list that I'm dying to see live – like Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, and Lin-Manuel Miranda from Hamilton. Field trips with the music club could finally make that dream a reality. I'm crossing my fingers we'll get to go to lots of incredible shows!
Being part of the music club will also look really good on my record and college applications when I'm older. Colleges want to see that kids are well-rounded and have talents and interests besides just academics. If I'm in the music club, I can show that I'm a dedicated musician who has performed at lots of concerts and events. That will make me stand out way more as an applicant compared to someone who just has good grades.
Extracurriculars like music club could help me get into my dream school like Juilliard or Berklee College of Music if I decided I wanted to study music professionally. How cool would that be?
In conclusion, I really hope I get accepted into the middle school music club next year. I've been obsessed with music my whole life and I'm so passionate about singing and playing instruments. The music club will allow me to take my skills to new heights while making friends with other kids who share my interests. We'll put on incredible shows that everyone will love. I'll get cool opportunities like going on field trips to concerts and boosting my college applications too. Most importantly though, being in the music club means I'll get to spend more time than ever doing what I love most - creating beautiful music. The music club is my absolutely biggest dream and I'll work as hard as I can to be the best musician if they let me join. Thanks for considering my application!

My Big Dream to Join the Music Club!
Hi there! My name is Michael and I'm in the first year of middle school this year. I'm super excited because I really want to
join the awesome music club at our school. Music is my absolute favorite thing in the whole wide world!
Ever since I was a tiny little kid, I've loved listening to music and singing along. My mom says when I was just a baby, I would bounce up and down and giggle whenever she played fun kid songs. As soon as I could talk, I was always singing little made-up tunes about everything - getting dressed, eating my vegetables, you name it! My poor parents had to listen to me singing nonsense songs all day long. Haha!
When I started elementary school, I got really into listening to all different kinds of music. I asked for a little radio for my birthday one year so I could discover new songs and artists. My parents put a parental lock on it though so I couldn't find any inappropriate stuff! I would listen to the radio for hours, bobbing my head and trying to learn all the lyrics.
In third grade, I joined the elementary school choir and that's when my true musical journey began. Mrs. Thompson was our choir teacher and she was so nice and encouraging. She really sparked my love for singing and taught us awesome songs to perform at the school concerts. I looked forward to choir practice every week - it was the highlight of my days!
Last year in fifth grade, I decided to start learning an instrument for the first time. After lots of thinking, I chose to play the violin. I just loved the beautiful, almost crying sound it makes. My parents rented me a tiny 1/8 size violin to start out. It was hard at first and my poor fingers got all calloused from holding down the strings. But I practiced every single day because I was determined to get better. By the end of the year, I could play simple songs like "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and even performed a solo at the spring concert. I was over the moon!
Now that I'm heading into first year at middle school, my biggest dream is to join the incredible music club here. I've heard the music club performs cool concerts and even enters regional competitions sometimes. They also get to learn about different musical genres and styles which would be so fascinating. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get accepted!
In the music club, I would love to continue pursuing my violin skills of course. But I'd also really like to expand my vocal talents too. Perhaps I could join the choir or even start a little accapella group? That would be a blast. I'm also interested to try out other instruments that the club has access to. The drums look crazy fun or maybe I could give the saxophone a whirl? Who knows what other hidden talents I might discover!
More than anything though, I'm excited by the prospect of being around so many other kids who share my passion for music. At my elementary school, it always felt like my friends thought music was just an odd quirky interest of mine. But at the middle school music club, I'll be surrounded by like-minded peers who truly understand how powerful and beautiful music can be. Maybe I'll finally find my "music soulmates" who will encourage me to keep working hard and achieving my dreams.
My big goals for the future are to hopefully study music in college and then pursue it as a career somehow. I could be a touring musician, write my own songs and albums, become a music teacher...the possibilities are endless! But for now, just being part of the middle school music club would be a dream come true.
So in summary, I absolutely love music more than anything in the world. Singing and playing violin bring me more joy and happiness than I can even express. The middle school music club would be the perfect place for me to grow my talents and discover new musical opportunities. I promise I will work extremely hard, be a great team player, and represent the club well if given this amazing chance. It would mean everything to me.
Thanks so much for considering my application! I'll be keeping my fingers and toes crossed tightly. A spot in the music club would simply make my heart sing. Please pick me!

Joining the Music Club
Hi everyone! My name is Emily and I am a first-year student at Oakwood Middle School. I am so excited to tell you all about my big plan to join the amazing music club at my school! Music is my absolute favorite thing in the whole wide world. Well, other than ice cream of course. But you can't join an ice cream club, so the music club is the next best thing!
Ever since I was a tiny little kid, I have loved listening to music. My mom said when I was just a baby, the only way to get me to stop crying was to sing lullabies to me. As I got older, I started singing along to all my favorite songs on the radio in the car with my parents. I didn't always get the words right, but I gave it my best shot!
When I started elementary school, that's when my true music journey began. In first grade, we had an awesome music teacher named Mr. Jackson. He played the guitar and taught us all kinds of fun songs to sing. We also got to use stuff like tambourines,
maracas, and even a xylophone! Making music quickly became my favorite part of every school day.
By the time I got to fourth grade, I was a total music expert (or so I thought!). I had started learning how to play the recorder and could play classics like "Hot Cross Buns" and "Mary Had a Little Lamb" with my eyes closed. My parents saw how much I loved music, so for my 10th birthday they got me an amazing present - my very own acoustic guitar!
I started taking guitar lessons every week after school. My teacher, Mrs. Garcia, was so nice and brilliant at the guitar. She'd show me how to strum chords and read tabs to learn my favorite pop songs. I practiced my guitar every single day, barely taking breaks to do my homework or eat dinner. Music made me that happy!
Now that I'm a big kid in middle school, I've been counting down the days until I can join the music club. From what I've heard from the older kids, the club is a total blast. You get to sing, play instruments, listen to recordings, and even perform concerts a few times per year! It honestly sounds like my concept of heaven.
This week, the club is finally going to start taking applications from first-years like me who want to join. You better
believe I will be first in line to submit my application! I'm planning on attaching a full resume that outlines my elementary music experience and achievements. I've been a part of my school's choir since third grade, played recorder concerts every year, and even performed a few original songs I wrote on my guitar at last year's talent show. With those kinds of credentials, how could they possibly reject me?
More than anything, I want to be a part of the music club to take my passion for music to new levels. I'm SO ready to learn all about music theory, proper vocal technique, and maybe even try my hand at a new instrument like the drums or piano. The thought of getting to spend every afternoon making awesome music with other kids who love it as much as me just seems too good to be true.
But the absolute best part about potentially joining the club is the opportunity to perform. While it's true I've done a few small performances before, like at school talent shows, the idea of being in legit concerts is making me shake with excitement! Can you imagine me, little Emily, being up on stage under those bright lights? Strumming my guitar and singing my heart out in front of hundreds of people? Yeah, I can't really imagine it either because it sounds so impossibly cool.
Of course, I know there's a chance I may not get into the club this year. They probably get a zillion applications from super talented kids. If that happens, while I'll be pretty sad about it, I'll just try again next year when I'm a second-year. You can't get into the music club before first grade, so I've still got plenty of time!
But in my heart, I just know I have what it takes to get in. If you love something as much as I love music, if it makes you happier than anything else in the world, you have to go after it! That's why I'm going to work harder than ever on my application and audition materials. Noembellished credentials or fibbing - I'm going to show them the 100% real and musically-passionate Emily. If they can't see how much being in the club means to me, that's their loss!
Whew, sorry for rambling on so much, but I just get so dang excited whenever I talk about my favorite topic - music! While I've got my fingers and toes crossed that I make it into the club this year, no matter what happens I'm never going to stop singing, playing my guitar, or filling the world with as much music as possible. It's just who I am!
I'll be sure to let you all know if I get in or not. Until then, you can catch me practicing my guitar riffs and vocal runs. Maybe I'll
even put on a free mini-concert for my family to prepare! The road to music stardom starts now. Wish me luck!。
