Lesson Plan of Space: the Final Frontier
----重庆育才中学金洋1. Guiding Ideology
The type of this lesson is Reading for Speaking. It bases its thoughts of design on the principl es of Communicative Language Teaching and Tasked-based Language Teaching. In fact, the key a ssumption in CLT is that students learn the language through engaging in a variety of communicati ve activities. Activities of this case in this lesson includes identifying pictures and constructing sto ries through pictures. On the other hand, Task-based Language Teaching is factually a further deve lopment of Communicative Language Teaching. Tasks are specially designed for students to achie ve the objectives in three aspects, namely, knowledge, skills and emotions, among which form filli ng, word reordering, sentence reordering and summarizing are typical ones. To conclude, outcome of this plan not only takes the principles of CLT and TBLT into account, but also corresponds wit
h the requirements on an English class implemented after the New Curriculum Reform.
