Have you ever recycled? To recycle is to take rubbish and make it into
something new. Recycling is good for our planet because it makes waste
into (%)
something that we can use again. Recycling also helps to clean up the litter that makes our streets look dirty.
All kinds of things can be recycled. The most common materials like glass, plastic, paper, metals, cloth are all recyclable. Sometimes these products(产品) are broken down to make the same kinds of products. An example of this type of recycling is using paper to make more paper. Rubbish can also be broken down to make completely new items(材料) as well!
Some items, like glass, can be recycled forever! We can use glass items, then break them down and use them again and again. Aluminum(铝) cans are one of the most successful recycled metals. They can be recycled again and again and nearly 60% of all cans have been recycled.
The average family of four can produce nearly 2,000 pounds of rubbish each year. As time goes on, we have fewer places to put all of this rubbish in. Recycling is one way to control the amount of rubbish we need to put into the land.
The next time you toss a can or bottle into the dustbin, look to see if there is a recycling triangle(三角) on the label. It is the international sign for recycling. It means that the item you are going to throw in the dustbin could be recycled.

It’s common to carry things on bikes, trains and even planes. But do you know small drones(无人机) can help carry packages to your home?
For two years, Google has been working hard in their secret research lab. Their
latest project is called Project Wing.
Project Wing is Google’s invention of a drone delivery service. It is half plane and half helicopter and is slightly bigger than a seagull. It can deliver(投递) packages to buyers by drone to door.
The first drone test was made on a farm in Warwick, Australia. It sent sweets and dog treats to a farmer. The drone flew to the farm, hovered (盘旋), and dropped the package with a wire. Delivery is here!
The best thing about drone delivery services is that delivery time will be greatly cut down. You’ll be able to order what you like online in the morning. And by noontime, the delivery drone will land your package.
Throughout history, there have been different kinds of inventions that have helped people move things around, said Astro Teller, lead scientist of Google Wing, to CNN. Teller thinks Google drones will be the next big step.
Interestingly, drones are not that young. The US has been using armed drones since 2002. But drones may also get another use. Film companies have asked to use drones to shoot videos from the sky.
Yet Google’s delivery drones won’t be able to fly to buyers any time soon. However, Google has proved that drone delivery is possible. And with Amazon announcing their drone delivery service last year, the further research is going on to make delivery drones safe and suitable for buyers.

Most animals have little connection with animals of a different kind, unless they hunt them for food. Sometimes, however, two kinds of animals come together in a partnership
which does good to both of them. You may have noticed some birds sitting on the backs of sheep. This is not because they want a ride, but because they find easy food in the parasites(寄生虫) on sheep. The sheep allow the birds to do so because they remove the cause of discomfort. So although they can manage without each other, they do better together.
Sometimes an animal has a plant partner. The relationship develops until the two partners cannot manage without each other. This is so in the corals(珊瑚) of the sea. In their skins they have very small plants which act as “dustman”, taking some of the waste products from the corals and giving in return oxygen(氧气) which the animal needs to breathe. If the plants are killed, or are even prevented from light so that they cannot live normally, the corals will die.
57. Some birds like to sit on a sheep because .
A. they can eat its parasites
B. they depend on the sheep for a living
C. they enjoy traveling with the sheep
C. they find the position most comfortable
58. The underlined word “they ” in the last sentence of the first paragraph refers
to .
A. birds and parasites
B. birds and sheep
C. parasites and sheep
D. sheep, birds and parasites
59. It can be learnt from the text that the coral depends on the plant for .
A. comfort
B. light
C. oxygen
D. food
60. What does the second paragraph mainly discuss?
A. Some animals live better together.
B. Some plants depend on each other for food.
C. Some animals and plants develop their relationship easily.
D. Some animals and plants depend on each other for a living.

Cheating
Some students cheat because they are busy or lazy and they want to get good grades without spending the time studying. Other students might feel that they can’t pass the test without cheating. Even when there seems to be a “good reason” for cheating, it isn’t a good idea.
A student who thinks cheating is the only way to pass a test needs to talk with the teacher and his or her parents, so they can find some better ways together. Talking about these problems and working them out will help feel better than cheating.
If a student gets caught cheating, the teacher may give a “zero” score on the test, send him or her to the head teacher’s office and call his or her parents. Worse than the bad grades may be the feeling of having disappointed other people, like parents and teachers. A parent may worry that you are not an honest person and a teacher might watch you more closely the next time you’re taking a test.
There are plenty of reasons why a kid shouldn’t cheat, but some students have already cheated. If that’s you, it’s never too late to stop cheating. Cheating can become a habit, but a student is always able to act better and make better choices. It might help to talk the problem over with a parent, teacher, or friend.
There’s an old saying that cheaters never win and winners never cheat.
