雅思小作文甘蔗制糖范文
Hey, let's take a look at how sugar is made from sugarcane. It's really quite an interesting process.
First of all, the sugarcane has to be harvested. Picture these tall, green stalks of sugarcane standing in the fields. Workers, or sometimes big machines, go in and cut them down. It's like they're gathering the long, sweet treasures from the land.
Once the sugarcane is harvested, it's taken to the factory as soon as possible. After all, freshness matters when it comes to making sweet stuff! At the factory, the first step is crushing. The sugarcane is put through crushers, which are like big, powerful teeth that munch on the stalks. This squeezing action extracts the juice from the sugarcane. It's kind of like squeezing a really long, fibrous lemon to get the juice out, but on a much larger scale.
Now, the juice that comes out isn't pure sugar yet. It has a lot of impurities in it. So, the next step is purification. The juice is heated up. As it heats, some of the unwanted stuff in it starts to separate. It's like when you heat a soup and the fat rises to the top in this case, the impurities start to show themselves so they can be removed. Then, chemicals might be added to help with this purification process. It's not as scary as it sounds. These chemicals are like little helpers that grab onto the impurities and make them easier to get rid of.
After purification, we have a much cleaner sugarcane juice. But we
still need to get the actual sugar crystals out. So, the juice is boiled.
As it boils, the water in the juice starts to evaporate. This is like the juice is sweating out the water. And as the water leaves, the sugar in the
juice becomes more and more concentrated. Eventually, the solution gets so concentrated that sugar crystals start to form. It's like magic one moment it's a thick, syrupy liquid, and the next, tiny sugar crystals start to pop up.
Finally, these sugar crystals are separated from the remaining liquid. This can be done in different ways, like using a centrifuge which spins really fast and flings the liquid away from the crystals. And voila! We have raw sugar. This raw sugar can then be further refined to make the white, granulated sugar that we use in our coffee, cakes, and all kinds of sweet treats.
So, that's the whole wonderful process of making sugar from sugarcane. It's a long journey from the fields to our sugar bowls.。
