Sony DCR-TRV33 Digital Video Camera Important Safeguards– If any of the following occur, stop use of camera and notify the HELP desk immediately.
If you are unable to located power sources – ac power cord, battery - that came with camera. Do not use incorrect power accessories or you will
damage equipment.
Keep camera away from excessive heat, excessive cold, and
liquid/moisture of any kind.
Use only the memory stick provided (Memory Stick PRO Media) or mini DV/DVC tape with or without Cassette Memory.
The camera is dropped or hit.
Do not use Viewfinder or LCD panel to pick up your camcorder.
Do not expose the LCD screen or lens to direct sunlight for long periods of time.
Do not directly shoot the sun.
Power & Battery
1. To install battery for use or charging - lift the viewfinder. Slide the battery pack
down until it clicks.
2.To remove battery – lift the viewfinder, press the BATT down and slide battery in
the direction of the arrow.
3.Connect the AC Adapter in the camcorder DC IN jack and connect the power
cord to a wall outlet.
Please use the AC Adapter when ever possible to save battery power.
4.To charge the battery, follow step #4, the battery is being charged when the power
switch is in the OFF (CHG) position.
The battery is fully charged after two and a half hours. After charging is completed, the CHG lamp goes out (full charge).
Set the POWER switch to OFF (CHG), open the LCD panel and press DSPL/BATT INFO to see status of battery.
Installing the DCR-Mini Cassette or Memory Stick
1.DCR-Mini Cassette – Slide OPEN/▲EJECT button located on the bottom of
camcorder in the direction of the arrow. Insert tape straight as far as possible into the cassette compartment with the window facing up.
2.Close the cassette compartment by pressing the PUSH on the metal cassette
compartment. After the cassette compartment goes down completely, close the lid until it clicks.
3.Reverse directions to remove.
1.Memory Stick –Open the lid of the “Memory Stick” slot. Insert the “Memory
Stick” in the slot as far as it can go with the ◄ mark facing down as illustrated, then close the lid.
Basic Recording
1.Open the lens cap.
2.Prepare the power source and insert cassette or memory stick.
3.Set the POWER switch while pressing the small green button to:
a.CAMERA to record digital video on the mini DV/DVC tape. This sets
your camera to standby. Press the START/STOP button has a red ● on it
and is located to the left of the Power button.
b.MEMORY to take digital photos with the “Memory Stick”.
Press PHOTO lightly. You can record when the gre en ● stops flashing.
Press PHOTO deeply. The image when you press PHOTO deeply is recorded on the “Memory Stick”.
4.Press OPEN to open the LCD panel. The picture appears on the screen.
a.Note: The battery life will be shorter when using LCD panel.
b.When the LCD panel is open, the Viewfinder will shut off.
ing the zoom feature – Move the power zoom lever a little for a slower zoom.
The power zoom lever is located above the “POWER” label.
W : Wide-angle (subject appears farther away)
T : Telephoto (subject appears closer)
6.Press the START/STOP. Your camera recording lamp located on the front of
your camcorder lights up. To stop recording, press START/STOP again.
Note: If you leave your camcorder during standby for 5 minutes while the cassette is inserted, your camcorder automatically turns off. This is
to save battery power and to prevent battery pack and tape wear. To
return to standby, set the POWER switch to OFF (CHG) and then back
to CAMERA. However, your camcorder does not turn off automatically
while the cassette is not inserted.
Playback – Tape or Memory Stick
1.Insert DV/DVC mini cassette tape or Memory Stick
2.Set the POWER switch to VCR for DV/DVC mini cassette tape or to MEMORY
for Memory Stick while pressing the small green button.
3.Press the OPEN to open LCD panel.
4.Press the ◄◄ to rewind tape, ►►to fast forward, or press ► to start playback.
For Memory Stick, press INDEX and ← → to scroll through pictures.。
