Comparing myself to my parents is something that I do quite often. It's hard not to when they are such successful and accomplished individuals. My dad is a doctor and my mom is a lawyer, both of whom have worked incredibly hard to
get to where they are today. Sometimes I feel like I'm not living up to their expectations, especially when it comes
to academics and career choices.
One area where I feel like I fall short is in my grades. My parents were both top students in their classes and I struggle to maintain a B average. They never pressure me to do better, but I can't help but feel like I'm disappointing them. I know they just want me to be happy and successful
in my own way, but it's hard not to compare myself to their achievements.
Another area where I feel like I fall short is in my
career aspirations. My parents both knew exactly what they wanted to do from a young age and worked tirelessly to achieve their goals. I, on the other hand, am still trying to figure out what I want to do with my life. Sometimes I feel like I'm wasting my potential and not living up to their expectations.
Despite these feelings of inadequacy, I know that my parents are proud of me and love me unconditionally. They have always been supportive of my decisions and have encouraged me to pursue my passions. I am grateful for their guidance and hope that one day I can make them as proud of me as I am of them.
