From the perspective of power system, in the next few decades, GIS data will develop toward standardization, system integration, system diversification intelligent network and application platform, and the direction of socialization development. The existing power GIS application is not stable, and the database design is not standard. Therefore, making our own power GIS technology standard has become very necessary. From the bottom of the network communication protocol to the database management and data model and customized means have meet certain standards, so the power GIS will obtain more economic and social benefits.

Method
Through the analysis on the domestic and foreign GIS application status, relevant technology and typical power distribution automation system project implementation example, this paper expounds the integrated design idea of the development and GIS application.
Introduction
The production management of electric power enterprise has the characteristics, such as space distribution, control object diversity and complex . The resources of electric power enterprise, such as power generation, transmission, distribution and electricity substation, scatter in the wide space area. The spatial data is the key factor for electric power enterprise application, and other new applications, seamless integration can be easily built. At the same time, as the production, supply and consumption of electric energy should finish at the same time, it has requirement for high to power dispatch, monitoring, and management in the reliability, efficiency, safety and economy.

Abstract
The application of the GIS（Geographic Information System）in power system is the only way of digital and informatization of power system. Through the analysis on the domestic and foreign GIS application status, relevant technology and typical power distribution automation system project implementation example, this paper expounds the integrated design idea of the development and GIS application. Then the application framework of GIS in power system based on web services is proposed, and the further development direction is indicated.
