meacquirecutting-edge expertise in software programming in general and parallelprocessing in particular.Intrigued by the power of the computer since high school,I have beentryingto stay on top of the computer science by concentrating my undergraduatestudieson those subjects that underpin the discipline, particularly mathematicsandelectronics. To build up my solid knowledge in these subjects,I have takenvirtually all the related courses that the university has had to offer.Thesecourses include Algorithm Data Structure,Mathematical Modeling,NetworkTheory,Digital Circuit,Discrete Mathematics, and ElectricCircuit. With asophisticated understanding in these areas,I have been wellpositioned toappreciate the basic theories of computer science and theirapplications tosoftware development.Aided by the firm command of the basics,Ihave found it not only easy butalso exciting to study the various subjectscovered by my major. As most of myclassmates,I took a variety of courses rangingfrom AI to Computer Network, from AI Programming to Knowledge Engineering, fromPattern Recognition toSoftware Engineering, and from Database Design toProgramming Language Design. But I distinguished myself by my academic record, which places me as one of thevery top students in my class. My grades inthese course never went below A orB.I have also stood out as one of the few whohave taught themselves Real TimeSystem and Computer Graphics.Armed with soundtraining in the basic theories and applied technologies,Ihave been able to moveon into deeper and wider areas of computer science.Earlyin my university life,Ibegan to understand that the modern computer s base, the Turing machine, wasreaching its limits in AI.Gradually,I have narroweddown my research interest toparallel distributive computing, which Iunderstand can significantlyboostthe performance of personal computers bygiving them some of the functions ofmainframe computers.Of all the areas of computer science, parallel processingfascinates me themost. The term first came to me when I read the book ComputerOrganization Design: the Hardware/Software Interface as part of my ComputerArchitecturecourse.By teaching me how the performance of computers can beimproved throughpipelining and parallel processing, the book reshaped my thinkingin computerscience. My lab experience deepened my understanding of parallelprocessing. In mythird year,I worked on a GIFT project withDr.Komatsu, chiefresearcher of IBMTokyo Research Laboratory and Dr.Koseki, one ofDr.Komatsu scolleagues.Theproject was to introduce the architecture supports that can allowcompilers toderive more parallelism from programs. These architecture supportsinclude threedesigns,a conditional execution mechanism to execute instructionswithoutnormal conditional jump instructions, speculative execution mechanism, andadynamic memory disambiguation mechanism to execute memory accessinstructionssimultaneously. As undergraduate students seldom get to be involvedin actual research,Itook full advantage of the opportunity of working in thelab.I particularlyenjoyed the seminars held twice a week as part of the labwork. At theseseminars,I engaged in in-depth discussions with Master s studentsunder Dr.Komatsu s seasoned guidance. The lab experience is adding weight andinsights tomy graduation paper An Improvement of Software pipelining usingLoopTransformations. In this paper,I will introduce a translation algorithmusingloop interchange and loop skewing. This algorithm can minimize theinitiationinterval of loop nest to improve the performance of softwarepipelining.Through my lab experience and other research,I have developed along-termprofessional objective: the advancement of the parallel processingtechnology. While I have strong faith in this technology,I also know itslimitations as itis today. Some sequential algorithms can t be easily translatedinto fastparallel algorithms and most compilers can only distribute works ononeplatform.Another unsettled problem is that programming parallel computersisnow still a manual work. But even the modern language (likeJava,C++) candosome automatic translation work.If a compiler can be developed to translateanddistribute work into different platforms, personal computers will be abletowork like mainframe computers at a fraction of the mainframes costs.Thiswillmake it possible to connect all the computers in the world and speed up alltheprocesses. To help take the parallel processing technology beyond what is capable oftoday,I have to undertake more advanced studies. This,I believe, canonly beaccomplished in a quality graduate program like yours.I plan to pursueamaster s degree with a concentration on paralleling and distributing compilers, operating systems or computer networks,a combination thereof. With thetrainingthat goes into such an advanced degree,I think I will be able to takegreatstrides towards fulfilling my professional objective. When I do,I think Iwillbe standing on the cutting-edge of the computer science.

1My Favorite Book Ever!Do you like reading books? I LOVE reading books! Books are just the best. You can go on so many fun adventures and learn about amazing things without even leaving your room. Myall-time favorite book is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling. It's the first book in the Harry Potter series and oh my gosh, it's just soooo good! The book is about this boy named Harry Potter who lives with his mean aunt and uncle because his parents died when he was a baby. He has to live in a tiny cupboard under the stairs and his aunt and uncle treat him super bad. But then on his 11th birthday, he finds out that he's actually a wizard! Can you believe it? A real life wizard! An giant man named Rubeus Hagrid comes and tells Harry all about how his parents were wizards too and how he's been accepted to study magic at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Hagrid takes Harry away from his horrible auntand uncle to get his school supplies in a secret wizard shopping area in London called Diagon Alley. It's so cool there - with shops selling cauldrons, wands, spell books, and owl pets! When September 1st comes around, Harry has to go to King's Cross station and walk through a magic barrier onto Platform 9 3/4 to catch the Hogwarts Express train to school. On the train, he meets two kids who become his best friends - Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Ron comes from a huge wizarding family and Hermione is a Muggle-born witch, which means she was born to non-wizard parents. Finally, they get to Hogwarts castle and get sorted into their school houses - Harry and Ron are in Gryffindor and Hermione too. Their houses are like their families at school and they earn and lose points for their house based on their behavior. The classes at Hogwarts are so amazing - they have Potions, Herbology with magical plants, Charms, Transfiguration where they learn to change one object into another, and Defense Against the Dark Arts to learn defenses against dark magic.Of course, Harry's first year isn't just all fun and games. There are lots of dangerous things happening too. Like Harry gets picked to be the new Seeker on the Gryffindor Quidditch team, which is this intense magical sport played high up in the air onbroomsticks. And then Harry, Ron, and Hermione realize that someone is trying to steal the powerful Sorcerer's Stone that's being hidden at Hogwarts. If the wrong person gets the Stone, they'll be able to make the Elixir of Life and become immortal! Dun dun dunnnn!Harry and his friends have to sneak through a series of challenges guarding the Stone, facing things like a hugethree-headed dog, killer plants, and life-sized wizard chess! They eventually come face to face with Professor Quirrell, one of their teachers who has been possessed by the evil Lord Voldemort. Voldemort is trying to get the Stone so he can regain a body and his powers. But of course, Harry and his pals save the day in the end!I absolutely adore this book because it's just sooo magical and amazing. Like who wouldn't want to go to a school to learn spells and potions and be able to fly on broomsticks?? The world that J.K. Rowling created is so rich and detailed too, with all the different classes, ghosts, talking portraits, enchanted candy, and four different houses with their own personalities. Gryffindors are known for their bravery, Ravenclaws prize intelligence, Hufflepuffs are hardworking and loyal, and Slytherins are cunning (but a lot of them turn out to be bad eggs!).The characters are wonderful too. I love how Harry is so humble and brave, even though he's actually secretly this famous wizard who defeated the evil Voldemort as a baby. Ron is such a fun, loyal friend, even if he can be a bit jealous sometimes. And Hermione is the smartest witch ever, but she has to learn that it's okay to break rules sometimes. The teachers at Hogwarts are great too, like the strict but caring Professor McGonagall, the wise Headmaster Dumbledore, and even the grumpy Potions teacher Snape ends up being a secret hero. When I'm reading this book, I'm just completely transported into Harry's world of magic and wonder. I can picture every detail, from the talking paintings, to the bubbling potions, to the grand castle feasts with food magically appearing on huge platters. My heart races during the intense confrontations with the villains and I'm just completely caught up in Harry's adventures. If you haven't read Harry Potter yet, you are seriously missing out BIG time! This book kicks off one of the most beloved, iconic book series of all time. The story just gets richer and more exciting with each book as Harry and his friends get older and face bigger, badder threats from Voldemort and his Death Eaters. I'm not even exaggerating when I say this series will take you on a thrilling magical journey you'll never forget! So what are you waiting for? Call up your local library, bookstore, or just get out your e-reader and get this book immediately! You'll instantly get hooked on reading about Harry, Ron, Hermione and anything else in the wizarding world. Just watch out for any dodgy curses or dark magic when you open those pages...after all, it is a school to learn witchcraft and wizardry! Have fun getting lost in Harry's incredible world!篇2My Favorite Book – Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's StoneHi everyone! Today I want to tell you all about my absolute favorite book of all time – Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling. This book is seriously the best and I've read it like a million times! It's about a young boy named Harry Potter who finds out on his 11th birthday that he's actually a wizard. How cool is that?!So Harry has been living with his mean aunt and uncle, the Dursleys, ever since his parents died when he was a baby. They never told him he was a wizard though, and they made him live in a tiny cupboard under the stairs in their house. On his 11th birthday, Harry starts getting all these weird letters addressed to him, but his uncle won't let him read them. Then one night, a giant man named Rubeus Hagrid shows up and tells Harry the truth – that he's a wizard and his mom and dad were a witch and wizard too! Hagrid gives Harry his acceptance letter to go to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry's aunt and uncle flip out, but Hagrid basically forces them to let Harry go.So Hagrid takes Harry to buy all his school supplies in this secret wizard shopping area in London called Diagon Alley. It's so awesome – there are stores that sell wands, cauldrons, owls, spell books, and all kinds of crazy magical items. Harry gets his very own wand and an owl he names Hedwig. They take a train from London to Hogwarts, which is this huge magical castle! When Harry arrives at Hogwarts, he gets sorted into a dorm house called Gryffindor. He makes two best friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Ron comes from a big wizarding family, but Hermione's parents are regular non-magic people, just like Harry's aunt and uncle. At Hogwarts, Harry starts taking classes to learn magic spells, potions, herbology, and all sorts of other awesome magical subjects. His favorite class is broomstick flying lessons! He's a natural at it. But Harry soon learns that someone is trying to steal a powerful magical object being hidden at Hogwarts. With Ronand Hermione's help, Harry has to use all his newly-learned magic skills to stop the bad guys from getting it.There are so many thrilling parts in this book! Harry plays his first ever wizard sport game called Quidditch, which is kind of like soccer but on broomsticks and with flying balls trying to knock you off. He has to duel another student in a scary battle of magic spells. And he comes face to face with Lord Voldemort, the evil dark wizard who killed Harry's parents! Will Harry be able to stop Voldemort and protect the powerful magical object? You'll have to read it to find out!I just love everything about this book. The magic system and all the creative magical items and spells are so imaginative and fun. I wish I could go to a school like Hogwarts! The story is super exciting with all the dangerous obstacles Harry faces. And Harry is such a brave, humble hero that you can't help but root for him the whole time.My favorite character is probably Hermione because she's the smartest student at Hogwarts and isn't afraid to show off her knowledge. I admire how she's a total bookworm but still manages to be an loyal friend to Harry and Ron. Her magic skills come in handy for them so many times!Overall, I just get totally hooked every time I read this book. I get swept up in the wizarding world at Hogwarts and I never want it to end. J.K. Rowling's writing brings everything to life so vividly. You feel like the magic is actually real!If you haven't read Harry Potter yet, you are seriously missing out big time. The whole series of seven books is incredible, but you gotta start with this first one. Do yourself a favor and get your hands on a copy today! You'll make a new batch of amazing friends in Harry, Ron, and Hermione. And who knows? Maybe you're a wizard too and just don't know it yet! Better read the book to find out...篇3My Favorite Book: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's StoneI just love the Harry Potter books! They are the most amazing, magical stories I've ever read. My all-time favorite is the very first one in the series - Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. That book sparked my imagination like nothing else and launched me into the wizarding world of Harry Potter. Let me tell you all about why I love it so much!First of all, the main character Harry Potter is just so cool. He's an ordinary kid who finds out on his 11th birthday that he'sactually a wizard! How awesome is that? I would love to get a letter delivered by an owl telling me I get to go to a magic school and learn spells and potions. Harry has had a really hard life living with his mean aunt and uncle who treat him terribly. But then everything changes when the half-giant Hagrid shows up and rescues Harry from the Dursleys. Harry gets to leave that miserable life behind and discover his true identity as a wizard. So brave and adventurous!Speaking of Hagrid, he's one of my favorite characters too. Hagrid is the gamekeeper at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where Harry ends up going. Hagrid is this huge, gruff guy but he's got a heart of gold. He loves all kinds of magical creatures, even the dangerous ones that could bite your hand off! But Hagrid is fiercely loyal to Harry and protects him whenever he's in trouble. I love his catchphrase "I shouldn't have told you that!" Hagrid is always accidently spilling secrets but he means well. The world of Hogwarts itself is simply spellbinding (pun intended!). The castle is this giant, ancient place with talking portraits, moving staircases, and ghosts floating around. There are cool classes like Transfiguration where you learn to change one object into another. Or Potions, which seems kind of like amagical cooking class. Harry and his friends have to brew all sorts of wild concoctions with ingredients like dragon's blood and unicorn hair. So gross but so intriguing! And I can't forget Harry's buddies Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Those two characters make me laugh so hard. Ron is from a huge wizarding family who doesn't have much money. So he's always getting hand-me-down robes and gear from his older brothers. But Ron is brave and sticks by Harry through everything, even when they have to face their worst fears and get attacked by vicious plants and giant chess pieces that come to life! Hermione is the ultimate super-smart teacher's pet. She's bossy and a know-it-all but her brain gets them out of so many jams. The banter between Ron and Hermione is hilarious.Of course, I can't discuss this book without mentioning the main villain - the evil Lord Voldemort. Talk about a bad guy you love to hate! Voldemort is the dark wizard who killed Harry's parents when he was a baby. He's so diabolical and his laughter sends chills down my spine. When Voldemort attaches himself to the back of Professor Quirrell's head and has to wrap his face in turbans, I get serious creepy vibes. Voldemort stops at nothing to get revenge on baby Harry who somehow survived his killingcurse. The climactic battle between good and evil at the end is pure nail-biting suspense! This book has it all - wizards, magic, friendship, danger, humor, and good triumphing over evil in the end. I've read the Sorcerer's Stone like twenty times and it never ever gets old. Every time I read the last few chapters where Harry is facing Voldemort, I get just as nervous and excited as the first time. The descriptive writing makes me feel like I'm right there at Hogwarts running through the flaming chambers and having to out-fly the murderous keys. What really makes this book so special though is the important messages underneath all the wizardry fun. The story shows that even if you've had a tough childhood like Harry, you can overcome it through bravery, hard work, and the support of loyal friends. It reminds you that the true magic in life isn't about spells and potions - it's about cherishing your family and fighting for what's right, no matter how scary it gets. Sticking up for your friends and protecting those you love is the most powerful magic of all.So that's why Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is my all-time favorite book. Every time I read it, I'm transported away from the ordinary Muggle world into a realm of extraordinaryadventure, friendship, and magic. I can't wait to share this book with my own kids someday and pass along the magic to the next generation of Potterheads! I absolutely love the Harry Potter series and I hope it continues to inspire people for many more years to come. As Dumbledore would say, "Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!"篇4My Favorite Book: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's StoneHi everyone! Today I want to tell you all about my absolute favorite book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling. This book is just so awesome and magical, I can't get enough of it!The story is about this young boy named Harry Potter who lives with his super mean aunt, uncle, and cousin, the Dursleys. They treat him terribly and make him sleep in a tiny cupboard under the stairs. But then on his 11th birthday, Harry finds out he's actually a wizard! Can you believe that? A real life wizard!A giant named Hagrid shows up and tells Harry all about the magical wizarding world that has been kept secret fromnon-magic people called Muggles. Harry gets invited to attendHogwarts, which is a super cool wizarding school where you learn spells, potions, and all sorts of incredible magic. But getting into Hogwarts isn't easy. First, Harry has to go to Diagon Alley, which is this hidden shopping street in London just for wizards. He goes to Gringotts, the wizard bank run by goblins, to get wizard money. Then he buys his school supplies like robes, a wand, books, and even a pet owl named Hedwig! When Harry finally gets to Hogwarts, it's even more amazing than he imagined. The castle is huge with moving staircases, talking paintings, and ghosts drifting through the hallways. Harry gets sorted into Gryffindor house along with his new best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. At Hogwarts, Harry starts taking classes to learn all about magic. He has to take subjects like Potions with the super strict Professor Snape, Charms, Herbology with the crazy plants, and Defense Against the Dark Arts. His favorite class though is definitely flying lessons where he gets to ride a broomstick!Of course, Harry's first year at Hogwarts isn't all fun and games. There's a dangerous sorcerer trying to steal the powerful Sorcerer's Stone that's being hidden at the school. Harry, Ron, and Hermione have to use all their magic skills to try and stop the evil sorcerer from getting the stone and becoming immortal.Along the way, they have to get past a huge three-headed dog named Fluffy, catch winged keys to unlock doors, play alife-size wizard's chess game, and take on many other challenges. It's super scary but also really exciting!I don't want to spoil too much of the story for you, but let's just say that Harry proves himself to be an incredibly brave and talented young wizard. He faces the evil sorcerer and manages to protect the Sorcerer's Stone from falling into the wrong hands. There's just so much I love about this book! The magic and spells are wildly creative and fun. Getting past the deadly challenges to get to the Sorcerer's Stone had my heart racing with anticipation. And all the characters are so well-developed and interesting, especially Harry himself.Even though he grows up with a terrible family who doesn't care about him at all, Harry is a kind and loyal friend who doesn't let that bring him down. He may be young, but he shows incredible bravery, determination, and skill when it matters most. Who wouldn't want to be a wizard just like him?Hogwarts is also the ultimate dream school for me. I mean, come on - a huge magical castle where you get to learn all about spells, potions, magical creatures, and fly around on broomsticks? Sign me up! I'd give anything to get my very own wand andGryffindor robe. I'm probably more of a Hufflepuff if I'm being honest, but Gryffindor still sounds way cooler. And that's not even mentioning all the crazy adventures, dangerous monsters, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences Harry has to face. Getting past Fluffy and that giant chessboard was absolutely wild! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.So if you haven't read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone yet, you seriously need to. It's fun, exciting, imaginative, and you'll never want the magic to end. I must have read it like 10 times already and I'm still just as obsessed with it as the first time.Trust me, you'll be blown away when you step into the wizarding world and go on this unbelievable journey right alongside Harry, Ron and Hermione. Learning about magic has never been more thrilling! This book will forever be my #1 favorite. Accio Harry Potter!篇5My Favorite Book - Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's StoneHi there! I'm so excited to tell you about my absolute favorite book - Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling. This book is the first in the mega popular Harry Potter series and it's just amazing! The story follows an 11-year-old orphan boy named Harry Potter who lives with his super mean aunt, uncle and cousin. Harry has no idea that he's actually a wizard until one day, he gets a letter delivered by an owl saying he has been accepted tothe Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry! How cool is that?At first, Harry's aunt and uncle won't let him go because they hate anything to do with magic. But then a half-giant named Hagrid comes to rescue Harry and tells him the truth - that his parents were a witch and wizard before they were killed by an evil wizard named Voldemort when Harry was just a baby.Hagrid takes Harry to get all his school supplies like robes, a magic wand, an owl named Hedwig, and his very first birthday cake and present! I was so happy for him. Harry had never gotten any birthday gifts before because the Dursleys were so mean. When September 1st arrives, Hagrid puts Harry on a train to Hogwarts at King's Cross station in London. On the train, Harry meets his two best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Ron comes from a huge wizarding family and Hermione is a Muggle-born witch, which means she was born to non-magical parents. Finally, they arrive at the magical school of Hogwarts hidden in the Scottish mountains! The castle is beyond awesome with moving staircases, talking portraits, and ghosts floating around. The students get sorted into four houses - Gryffindor, Hufflepuff,Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Harry, Ron and Hermione all get put into Gryffindor. At Hogwarts, Harry starts taking classes to learn magic like Potions, Herbology, Charms, Transfiguration and Defense Against the Dark Arts. He discovers he's a natural at flying on broomsticks and gets picked to be the youngest Seeker on the Gryffindor Quidditch team in a century! Quidditch is kind of like a mix of soccer, basketball and tag played high up in the air. So cool! But trouble soon finds Harry when he learns that the super evil Voldemort is trying to steal the powerful Sorcerer's Stone that is being hidden at Hogwarts. With the help of Ron and Hermione, Harry has to battle a troll, fly through some dangerous obstacles, and take on Voldemort's mind games to try and stop him.I don't want to give away too many spoilers, but there are so many twists and turns in this book that keep you on the edge of your seat. J.K. Rowling's descriptions of the wizarding world make you feel like you're really there seeing the magic happen right before your eyes. The characters are all so amazing too - especially the kind-hearted Harry, the brave Ron, the super smart Hermione, and even the wise old headmaster Dumbledore. To me, the Harry Potter books are all about friendship, courage, and exploring your true potential - even when you're just a regular kid who keeps getting tossed into these crazy supernatural situations. Harry's adventures at Hogwarts have inspired millions of readers around the world to dream big and work hard to achieve the impossible, just like he does.I've read this first book like a million times already and I never get tired of it!
