There is an old saying in Liuzhou, “If you never eat river snail rice noodle, you are the person from Liuzhou in vain.” The reason why Liuzhou people are so fond of eating river snail rice noodle is its unique taste of freshness, sourness, hotness and spiciness. Another one is because Liuzhou people have the habit of eating river snail, and rice noodle is the staple food of Liuzhou. The prefect combination of these two will certainly makes Liuzhou people “reluctant to say no”. Moreover, because of the humid and sultry climate in Liuzhou, people tend to lose their appetite, but the spicy and sour taste stimulates people’s appetite. “First bite makes people breathe smoothly, second bite sweat, third bite makes the whole body comfortable.”

1My Favorite Yummy Treats from GuangxiHi friends! My name is Xinxin and I'm from Guangxi, a beautiful region in southern China. Guangxi has such delicious food that I can't wait to tell you all about it. Get ready to hear about some super tasty snacks and dishes!Let me start with one of my absolute favorites - yangrou tunr or roasted lamb. The lamb is marinated in a secret blend of spices and then slow-roasted over a fire until the meat is crazy tender and flavorful. The crispy bits on the outside are the best part! Whenever my family has a celebration, you can bet there will be a big plate of yangrou tuar for everyone to enjoy. I love tearing off pieces of the lamb with my hands and dipping it in the tasty sauce.Another famous Guangxi snack is zongzi, which are pyramids made of sticky rice stuffed with different fillings like pork, mushrooms, or red bean paste. They get wrapped up tightly in bamboo leaves before boiling. Zongzi are a specialtreat we eat during the Dragon Boat Festival every year. I like the ones filled with pork and salty egg yolk the most. Yum!Speaking of rice, you have to try Guangxi's famous luosifenr noodles. These tiny rice noodles are served in a hot broth with different toppings like meat, pickles, peanuts, and chili oil. It's fun to mix everything together and slurp up the chewy noodles. Whenever I catch a cold, my mom makes me a big bowl of luosifen to help me feel better. If you come visit Guangxi, you'll see ladies on the street selling yummy baked goods from huge bamboo steamers carried on a pole. Don't miss the sesame seed balls called zatonr! These round puffed-up balls have a crispy outer layer with a sweet filling inside. I can eat a whole basket of these by myself, they're that good. For an extra special treat, search for the squares of nougat candy called gu ling gao. This is made from brown sugar, peanuts, sesame seeds, and lotus seeds all melted together into a chewy piece of sweetness. It takes hours to make thisold-fashioned candy the right way, but one bite and you'll taste why it's so worth it.Enough about sweets...let's talk about some more savory items! Guangxi people love their rice noodles, and a classic dishis liangpi, which are thick, chewy noodles made out of rice flour. They get topped with a savory soy sauce mixture, chili oil, sliced vegetables like wood ear mushrooms and bean sprouts, and crunchy fried dough crumbles on top. I always ask for extra chili oil on mine because I like it extra spicy!Another noodle fave is bamboo noodles, which earn their name because they're dried in bamboo over a smoky fire. This gives the flat rice noodles such a unique smoky aroma and flavor. They're typically served in a hot and sour broth with lots of fresh toppings like cilantro, scallions, peanuts, and pickled veggies. I could slurp up a whole pot in one sitting! We also eat a lot of rice dishes in Guangxi, like fried rice with salted fish and pork. The secret ingredient is dried shrimp which adds an amazing umami flavor. For a meal on the go, you can find big fragrant boxes of "shirt sleeve rice" sold by street vendors. It's so called because the rice is seasoned with pork, dried shrimp, and oyster sauce right inside the vendor's shirt sleeve!I haven't even mentioned all the tasty soups we eat. Beef noodle soup, duck soup with bamboo shoots, fish soup with pickled greens...everything is packed with so many fresh herbsand spices. My grandma is the master soup maker and she can make even the simplest broth taste incredible.Well, I've rambled on about so many of my favorite foods, but I've barely scratched the surface when it comes to all the amazing flavors in Guangxi cuisine. From the humblest street snack to fancy banquet dishes, every bite is a flavor explosion! We use ingredients you won't find anywhere else, like stinky tofu, dried beef, preserved mustard greens, and numbing-spicy chili peppers.Part of what makes the food so special is all the different cultures that have influenced Guangxi over the centuries - from the Cantonese to the Zhuang and Dong minorities. Their unique traditions all get mixed together to create flavors unlike anywhere else. I'm so lucky I get to grow up eating this incredible food every single day.Now I'm getting hungry just thinking about it all! Whenever relatives come visit from other parts of China, I always take them on a food tour to taste all my favorite snacks and dishes. There's nothing better than watching their eyes light up when they take that first delicious bite. Food has a way of bringing people together and making everyone feel happy, warm, and right at home.I hope you enjoyed learning about the yummy treats from my home region. If you ever visit Guangxi, I'll take you on a tasting tour myself! We'll start with jello balls for breakfast and end with beef jerky and cold beer for a late night snack. However we eat it, food is definitely the heart and soul of Guangxi. Just one bite and you'll taste why!篇2My Big Adventure Eating Yummy Foods in Guangxi!Hi friends! My name is Little Peng and I went on a super fun trip to Guangxi with my family last summer. Guangxi is a really cool place in southern China that has so many tasty foods I had never tried before. I'm going to tell you all about the delicious snacks and dishes I ate there!First up is a snack called Yangshuo Gougai. In English that means "Yangshuo Crispy Pastry." It's made of rice dough that gets rolled out flat and cut into little squares. Then each square gets stuffed with a sweet filling made from brown sugar, sesame, coconut, and peanuts. After that, the stuffed pastries get fried until they are nice and crispy on the outside. Ohhh they smelled so good when the street food lady was frying them up! Theoutside was crunchy and the inside was warm and gooey. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!Another fun snack is called Luosifen, which means "River Snail Rice Noodles." I know it sounds a little weird with the snail part, but don't worry - there aren't really snails in it! Luosifen is a tasty soup made from small rice noodles in a flavorful pork broth. You can add all sorts of fun toppings like pickled bamboo shoots, boiled egg, cilantro, and chili oil. My favorite part was the crispy fried pork rinds on top that gave it a nice crunch. This snack was super comforting and delicious! Now let me tell you about one of Guangxi's most famous dishes - Yangshuo Li'an Chicken! To make this, a whole chicken gets stuffed with herbs like green onion, ginger, and sand ginger. Then it slow cooks for hours until the meat is juicy and falls right off the bone. The skin gets dried out so it's extra crispy. This chicken was so fragrant from those herbs! My grandma said Li'an chicken is one of the oldest dishes from Guangxi dating back hundreds of years. But my overall favorite food from the trip was Zhuang Oxskin Tofu. I bet you're wondering why it's called "oxskin" when it's actually tofu, right? Well, that's because this special kind of tofu has a really chewy texture that is kind of similar to dried oxskin. It doesn't taste anything like meat though - it's just a fun name! To make oxskin tofu, soybeans get pressed until they form thin sheets of dried tofu. Those sheets then get stewed for a long time in a flavorful soy sauce broth with wood ear mushrooms, dried shrimp, and pork. My mom let me try cooking it and I thought it was so cool how the dried tofu sheets puffed up and got all chewy after absorbing the broth. This dish was savory, hearty, and totally delicious! There were so many other yummy things I ate too like steamed rice noodle rolls, barbecue pork rice, mango rice noodles, and sweet fried taro balls. Guangxi has such a unique cuisine with lots of different influences from the Zhuang, Yao, and other ethnic minority groups who live there. I can't wait to go back and discover even more tasty treats!I hope reading about all the scrumptious foods I sampled gave you a nice introduction to the flavors of Guangxi. Maybe your family can visit there sometime so you can taste everything for yourself. Just thinking about those dishes is making me hungry again! Okay, time for a snack break - let me go ask my mom if we have any of those fried taro balls left over. Thanks for reading, bye!篇3Yummy Snacks from Guangxi!Hi friends! Today I'm going to tell you all about some super delicious snacks from the Guangxi region in southern China. Guangxi is famous for its tasty foods made with lots of fresh ingredients and unique flavors. Get ready to hear about some mouth-watering treats! One of my absolute favorite Guangxi snacks is luosifen. This tasty dish has thick, chewy rice noodles in a flavorful broth made with river snails, bamboo shoots, dried shrimp, Chinesecelery, and peanuts. The broth has a sour, spicy, and earthy taste that's really yummy. You can add toppings like pickled bamboo, bean sprouts, boiled egg, and fresh herbs. Slurping up luosifen noodles is so much fun! I always make a big mess but it's worth it.Another food I love from Guangxi is zongzi, which are pyramid-shaped dumplings made of sticky rice stuffed with different tasty fillings and wrapped up in bamboo or reed leaves. The most popular kind in Guangxi has a sweet or savory pork filling. But you can also find ones stuffed with red bean paste, taro, jujube, and other yummy ingredients. Eating zongzi is a big part of the Dragon Boat Festival celebrations every year. I like topeel off the leaves layer by layer before devouring the soft, chewy rice and scrumptious filling inside.Mouthwatering yangchunmian is another noodle dish you have to try when you visit Guangxi. It's made with skinny rice noodles, pickled bamboo shoots, roasted peanuts or sesame seeds, fresh green veggies, and a zesty sauce made with garlic, chili peppers, vinegar, and sugar. The flavors are sour, spicy, sweet, and so tasty together. They say this dish originated with a scholar named Yang Chun who popularized the recipe over 300 years ago. I like to slurp up the long noodles and sip the flavorful broth. For something crispy and crunchy, Guangxi has great shaomai dumplings! These little open-topped dumplings are made of unleavened dough wrapped around a savory filling of pork, shrimp, or vegetables like mushrooms and bamboo shoots. Then they get steamed into a soft bun on the inside with a thin crispy shell on the outside. You can dip shaomai in a vinegar sauce or eat them plain. My favorite is the shrimp and pork filling.I could eat a whole steamer basket full!If you have more of a sweet tooth, you'll go crazy for wife cakes, also called lulipian. These cute little round pastries are made of glutinous rice flour, brown sugar, and shredded coconutpressed into a mold. They're soft and chewy with a rich sweetness from the coconut and brown sugar. Guangxi wife cakes are one of my preferred desserts or snacks to nibble on. I like to bite off little pieces and savor the delightful flavors. One super unique Guangxi treat is the baby fern root pudding called guzhibatian. It's made by taking fresh fern roots and grinding them into a paste with brown sugar to form a slippery, jelly-like pudding. The texture feels so weird and slimy in your mouth at first, but once you get used to it the flavor is amazing - earthy with a deep caramel-like sweetness from the brown sugar. This snack is definitely an acquired taste but I ended up loving it after my grandma got me to try it.Mmm, just thinking about all these mouthwatering Guangxi specialties is making me hungry! From the sour and spicy noodle broths to the sticky sweet treats, the cuisine of this region really wakes up your taste buds with bold, exciting flavors. I feel so lucky that my family is from Guangxi so I get to enjoy these amazing snacks all the time.If you ever get a chance to visit Guangxi, you have to stop by the street food vendors, outdoor markets, and family restaurants to sample the local delicacies. Let your taste buds explore the sour, spicy, sweet, and savory flavors. Your mouth will thank you!Eat up and remember to leave room because you'll want to try multiple snacks. Maybe you'll even discover a new favorite treat. Yum, yum, yum - Guangxi snacks are the BEST!篇4Yummy Guangxi Snacks and DishesHi there! My name is Xiao Ming and I'm from Guangxi, a region in southern China. Guangxi has some super yummy snacks and dishes that I want to tell you all about. They're really tasty and unique! One of my absolute favorite Guangxi snacks is luosifen. It's a rice noodle soup that's bursting with delicious flavors. The noodles are made from rice flour and they're really chewy and fun to eat. The broth has this rich, savory taste from being cooked with things like dried shrimp, Chinese sausage, peanuts, pickled bamboo shoots and lots of tasty spices. Sometimes they'll even add pig's blood cubes or pig's intestines! I know that sounds a little gross but trust me, it makes the flavor so deep and delicious. I always get mine with a little extra chili oil drizzled on top because I like it spicy!Another one of Guangxi's famous snacks is nikouguan. These are fluffy rice rolls that get stuffed with all kinds of yummyfillings like barbecued pork, preserved vegetables, shrimp, quail eggs or beef. The rice roll itself has such a light, pillowy texture. And the fillings give you an explosion of flavors in your mouth with each bite - savory, sweet, tangy or spicy. Nikouguan is the perfect grab-and-go snack!Zongzi is a very popular snack for festival days like Dragon Boat Festival. It's made from sticky rice that gets stuffed into bamboo leaves along with different fillings like pork, mushrooms, salted duck egg, red bean paste or even just simple sugar. The bamboo leaf wrapping gives the zongzi an amazing aroma. Peeling back the leaves is like unwrapping a little present filled with sticky rice goodness! For main dishes, you have to try Guangxi's famous rice noodle soups. One is called luosifen, which I already told you about. But there's also a beloved dish called yangshuo fenliangfen. This noodle soup is from Yangshuo county and it's flavored with things like soybean paste, chili peppers, garlic, scallions and pickled vegetables. It seriously has the most amazing aroma that makes your mouth water. The noodles are so chewy and satisfying!Another Guangxi noodle specialty is mifen. These are super thin rice vermicelli noodles in a light broth. They're often toppedwith ingredients like bamboo shoots, wood ear mushrooms, shredded pork and pickled greens. The noodles have an awesome slippery, slurp-able texture! You mix everything together and each bite gives you an explosion of flavors - savory, sour, sweet and spicy all at once. One of Guangxi's most iconic meat dishes has to be the yang cheng crispy roasted baby pigs! I know that might sound weird to some people, but these little pigs are seasoned and roasted until the skin is crazy crispy. The meat inside stays so tender and juicy though. It's like the best roast pork you've ever had! These roast pigs are a must-try if you visit Guangxi.Another popular meat dish is luobawang - it's spicy marinated chicken that's smothered in an incredible sauce made with chili peppers, garlic, sugar and fermented soybeans. You'll find lots of street vendors selling luobawang as a grab-and-go snack. Make sure to order some mantou (steamed buns) on the side to soak up all that flavorful sauce! Your mouth will be tingling from the spice but it's soooo delicious.Desserts in Guangxi are just as tasty as the savory snacks. Baked egg tarts are a huge thing over there. The flaky pastry crust holds a luscious egg custard filling that's sweet but not toosweet. So good! You'll see old ladies selling them fresh out of wood-fired ovens on the streets.Another beloved Guangxi dessert is wife cake (yes, that's the funny name!). It's a steamed sponge cake that gets topped with shredded coconut, sesame seeds and a sweet syrup. The texture is unbelievably light, fluffy and cloud-like. I could eat wife cakes all day long! Those are some of the highlights of Guangxi cuisine! From slurp-worthy noodle dishes to crispy roast meats to sweet coconutty cakes, Guangxi really knows how to pack a punch of flavor. If you ever visit my region, make sure your taste buds are ready for an adventure! Let me know if you have any other questions.篇5Yummy Snacks from Guangxi!Hi friends! My name is Little Wang and I'm from the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China. Guangxi is famous for lots of delicious foods and snacks. I want to tell you all about some of my favorite ones! Get ready for your mouth to water.Let's start with niangao. Niangao means "year cake" and it's a sticky rice cake that we eat during Chinese New Year. It looks kind of plain, but it has the most amazing chewy texture. The best niangao comes from Guangxi! We make it with super sticky rice, sugar, and sometimes we add dried fruits or nuts inside. My grandma always makes a huge batch for our family New Year's feast.Another famous Guangxi snack is luosifen. This is a savory rice noodle soup with a broth made from river snail sauce! I know snail sauce sounds weird, but it tastes amazing - rich, savory and a little earthy. The luosifen noodles are slippery and chewy. You mix them with pickled bamboo shoots, peanuts, eggs, and lots of other yummy toppings. My favorite place for luosifen is a little restaurant near my school. For something sweet, you have to try zongzi from Guangxi. Zongzi are sticky rice dumplings wrapped up in bamboo or reed leaves. They can have different fillings, but the classic Guangxi style has a sweet filling made from fresh jujube dates, red bean paste, and fragrant dried longan fruit. Unwrapping a hot zongzi and biting into that sweet, gooey filling is like heaven!Guangxi is also the birthplace of a unique barbecue dish called Xi'an roasted meat strips. First, they take super thin slicesof marinated beef or pork and thread them onto skewers in a special way. Then the skewers get roasted over a blazing charcoal fire until the meat is crispy on the outside but tender inside. The meat gets basted with a tangy-sweet sauce as it roasts. You eat it fresh off the skewer, dipped in more sauce if you want. The crispy-chewy texture is addictive! One more thing I have to mention is litchi honey jelly. Litchis are a tropical fruit that grow all over Guangxi. Some smart person figured out how to make a clear, jiggly dessert jelly from the sweet litchi honey that forms inside each fruit. The jelly is so refreshing on a hot day, with plenty of litchi flavor. Sometimes they add coconut, mango or other fruits too. I always get a big bowl when I go to the night market with my parents.Whew, I'm getting so hungry just talking about all this yummy Guangxi food! The snacks and dishes here use such fresh, natural ingredients like rice, meat, fruit, and lots of creative seasonings. But don't take my word for it - you have to come to Guangxi and taste everything for yourself. Your tastebuds will be doing a happy dance, I promise! Let me know which Guangxi snack sounds most tempting to you.篇6Here's a 2000-word essay introducing Guangxi's special snacks and dishes in English, written in the style of an elementary school student:My Home's Yummy Snacks and DishesHi friends! Today, I want to tell you all about the yummy foods from my home!Let me start with one of my favorites - Yangshuo Liquor Rice Noodles! These long, chewy noodles are cooked in a special broth made from rice wine and spices. The noodles soak up all the tasty flavors. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! The best part is you can add lots of toppings like pickled veggies, roasted peanuts, and tasty meat or seafood.Another famous Guangxi dish is Luocheng Beef Jerky. Farmers in Luocheng County have been making this chewy dried beef for hundreds of years! The secret is marinating the beef in a blend of special sauces and spices before air-drying it. It's kind of like beef candy – sweet, savory, and super addictive! One snack I really love is Lecheng Rice Crackers. These thin, crispy crackers look simple but they are SO good. The rice batteris cooked into big sheets, dried in the sun, and then baked over a wood fire. The crackers are often dipped in sugar water to make a sweet treat. Yum!You have to try Guilin Rice Noodles when you visit Guangxi! These long, thin noodles are made from special rice found only around Guilin. The noodles are stretchy with a delicious chewy bite. Vendors cook them in big pots of broth right on the street and top them with yummy things like pork, shrimp, veggies, and beef. Slurping them up is so much fun!Another Guilin classic is Luoshuan Snail Rice Noodles. Can you guess the special ingredient? Snails! The freshwater snails are boiled and then added to a tasty soup with rice noodles, pork, and veggies. It sounds weird but the snails are chewy and soak up all the yummy broth flavors. My grandma makes the best Luoshuan noodles. You can't leave Guangxi without trying the local stuffed snacks like bamboo chicken rolls, leaf-wrapped sticky rice dumplings, and crispy fried sesame balls! The fillings are always packed with delicious meats, mushrooms, veggies, and sauces. Every bite is an explosion of flavors in your mouth.I saved the best for last...my super favorite is Nanmeng Baiyu Chicken! This dish comes from my hometown, Nanning.

River snail rice noodle is a famous specialty in Liuzhou, Guangxi, which ranks first among local snacks. It is made of the soft, smooth and tasty rice noodle which you can only find in Liuzhou, with ingredients such as pickled bamboo shoots, black fungus, peanuts, fried dried beancurb sticks, yellow cauliflower, fresh and green vegetables, and rich and moderate sour and spicy taste, as well as boiled river snail broth. Because of its unique and tasty river snail broth, once people eat it will think about the second time.

In the early 1980s, several out-of-town merchants passed through Liuzhou. They were very hungry but it was late at night. Most of stalls were closed, these merchants managed to find a rice noodle stall that was about to close, but there was no food left on the stall. There was no bone soup to cook rice noodles, only river snail soup and some bits and pieces of food materials, as well as some rice noodles. However, these merchants couldn’t bear hunger any more. They begged the stall owner to makesomething to allay their hunger. In haste, the stall owner put the rice noodles into the river snail noodle soup and cooked them with vegetables, fried bean curd and side dishes such as peanuts. Coincidently, these merchants were full of praise after eating it, and said that they had never eaten such delicious food. The speaker was careless, but the listener was intentional, the stall owner remembered this in the heart, and gradually consummated its ingredient and the manufacture method, then formed the prototype of present river snail rice noodle embryonic gradually.
