• Step I: Primaries and Caucuses
• There are many people who would like to become President. Each of these people have their own ideas about how our government should work. Some of these people can belong to the same political party. That's where primaries and caucuses come in. • In these elections, party members get to vote for the candidate that will represent their party in the upcoming general election.
The Electoral College Votes
When the American people have had their say, a predetermined number of “electors” for each state who have pledged their support for the candidate of a certain party cast their votes. The votes of the Electoral College reflect the will of the American people to choose a particular candidate for the Presidency. While a candidate may have been determined the winner the same night the votes are cast and tallied, he or she is not officially the President of the United States until January 6th, when each of the 270 members of the Electoral College cast their votes in the Inauguration Ceremony. (In the event of a tie, the Presidency is determined by the House of Representatives.)

The process of the United States presidential election is a complex and multi-step procedure that involves both the political parties and the electorate. It begins with the primary elections and caucuses, where political parties choose their respective candidates. These primaries are held in each state and are the first opportunity for voters to cast their ballots for a preferred candidate.
Following the primaries, the parties convene their national conventions, where delegates formally nominate their party's candidate for the presidency. The delegates are chosen based on the results of the primaries and caucuses, and they are tasked with casting votes for the candidate during the convention.

There are 2 ways of preliminary election: one is that each party will elect those representatives who will attend the County Congress, the State Congress and the National Congress from bottom to top; the other is that voters of each party gather at the polling stations and vote secretly for the presidential candidates whom they support, and then determine the number of representatives each state should sent to attend the National Congress according to the vote ratio of each presidential candidate. The second way is much standard, so most states adopt this method.
