一、重点句型梳理

词汇-1. I have to pick up rubbish where I am going to sit... 我不得不捡起在我要做的地方的垃圾。（P29）

pick up

（1）捡起/ 拿起（某物）；扶起（某人）；跌倒后（自己）站起来To his credit, he formed the habit of picking up waste paper in public places.

值得表扬的是，他养成了在公共场所捡废纸的习惯。

（2）（在无线电中）收听，接收

It is necessary to use a short-wave radio to pick up the programme.

必须有一台短波收音机才能收听到这些节目。

（3）（用车）接（既可以是到某处去接某人或载货，也可以是中途顺便带走）

I’m willing to pick you up at your apartment if possible.

（4）加快（速度）

The wild horses picked up speed, so the hunters couldn’t catch up with them.
