The basic information

Teaching Objectives
1. Knowledge objective
By the end of the class, my students will be able to grasp some new words, such as shake, blender, cut up, peel, turn on, pour into.
2. Ability objective
Students will be able to (1) know how to make a banana milk shake.
(2) describe the process of making a milk shake by using the following
words: First, …Next/Then, … Then/Next, …Finally, …
(3) make sentences by using “How many…” and “How much …”
3. Emotion objective
The main content of this unit is to talk about the food-making process, which is very close to the students’ daily life. So it is helpful for the students to learn English better. By knowing about different food-making, students will feel relaxed and happy in class and they will not only study actively, but eat healthy as well. Besides, students will also be taught how to care others. Teaching main and difficult points
1. Teaching main points
(1) Verb phrases such as “peel three bananas”, “cut up the bananas” and “put the bananas and
ice-cream in the blender.” etc.
(2) The linking words which are used to describe a process.
(3) “How many” and “How much” questions
2. Teaching difficult points
How to use verb phrases to make Imperative sentences properly.
Analysis of the teaching material
The text is designed according to the principles of the “New English Course Standards”. The main content of this class is to learn to describe a process and the topic is about cooking. It’s important for the students to learn this topic. During the learning process, students can learn some new words, phrases and structures relating to the topic, and can broaden their horizon.

The idea of my teaching design
Apply the task-based teaching method. Several “tasks” will be designed for the students, and the students are encouraged to talk and communicate with their partners in English. Through the “tasks”, students will be able to use English in practical situations, and learn some relevant knowledge, but not just learn by rules. That’s why I will also adopt communicative approach and situational approach.
